"This holiday bungalow is in a stunning location with beach access just yards awaythe Sun sets in the evening are beautiful and lovely to watch from Lounge, dining room and two bedroom positionsThere are plenty of games, books, dvd's cd's jigsaws et and beach items to use The kitchen is very well equipped although some items - { frying pan } need replacing and extra cups would be useful - otherwise all goodThere are plenty of advisory leaflets of where to go and what to do and also an information booklet on appliance useage - excepting tumble dryer and boiler { need instructions for boiler and timer really}The property is charged out at a higher rate than a lot of other Cottages or Coastal properties that we have stayed at with Cottages for you, and although had stunning views lacked a lot of the basics for the extra costThere was no welcome pack upon arrivalNo extra bedding in case weather changed { which it did} and as we had taken extra fleeces we could cope without leaving heating on all night, as we could not get the boiler timer to work and had to put this on manually each morningBasic items found in most holiday cottages - such as an additional toilet roll - hand wash or small soap tablet were non existant - not even one dishwasher tablet had been left for useage - no spare bin linerI have added this as these few items cost very little and were an inconvenience upon arrival for the amount chargedMost of the bedding was of poor quality and light in weight for the time of year { October} as the double glazed windows in two bedrooms were very badly fitted and because of this the rooms were very cold unless heating left on all night, hence extra bedding would have been useful.Beds were not what you could call uncomfortable as such but were certainly not brilliant and not of a good qualitySome bulbs needed replacing in Lounge and owner mentioned an outside bulb needed replacing and to be careful at nightThe carpets were dirty but the owner said these are all being replaced in January 2016 and the bungalow is being re-decorated at the same timeThe owner was a lovely lady and very friendly upon arrival and the bungalow is a very nice bungalowIf some of the things mentioned were addressed in the future - we would certainly stay here again - lots of nice areas to visit and lots to do now in and around Brean itself"

"This was our first time staying at Brea view cottage and we loved it. Our sons aged 8 and 5 loved being right on the beach (and the Jacuzzi bath) but be aware that you cannot swim in the sea here due to it being far too muddy and sinking. The bungalow has everything provided from the ironing board, iron, hairdryer, bed linen, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, under counter freezer, separate fridge, dishwasher, oven, hob, toaster, oven gloves, pots and pans, baking trays, cooking utensils, buckets and spades, and of course the kitchen sink! (We've stayed in many self catering places before and had to take our own cooking things so it was nice to have everything there). The garden is on a split level with a patio and lawn directly behind the cottage and then down a few steps is the gravel area with a picnic bench, the bbq area/chimney and the steps down to the beach through the private gate. The front and rear gardens are enclosed/gated so young children and small dogs can be kept in. From the bungalow you can see Brean Down which you can walk up and around - the boys loved looking around the old military fort at the far end and there is a café and toilets at the bottom (There are steep steps up the side of the hill or a steep track a little further down to get up there). The bungalow is away from the touristy part of the area but is still within good walking distance to the village shop and tourist attractions. Weston super mare's Grand Pier is visible from the kitchen window and is only a 15 minute drive away along with an Asda supermarket, McDonalds, and other stores on a retail park and in the other direction about 10 minutes drive there is a Tesco. Cheddar Gorge is only about 18 miles away and worth a visit and there are plenty of other attractions close by in the area as well. Will definitely return for another visit and recommend."

"The cottage itself is beautiful. It's bigger than what the pictures portray. You have everything you need dish washer, washing machine etc.. Not the cleanest of places. Plus we were welcomed to the arrival of unwanted guests. Flying ants. Not the owners fault totally appreciate. Called them on arrival to just let them know found ant powder just get on with it. The contact not sure what to do. Not least sorry. There was loads. Each day we were coming back vacuuming ants. Third day in came back late after noon and they came back with a vengeance. Tried to call no response. Texted and got a call back. Again telling me I don't know what to do. Explained it's worse. Again no apologises just best get the maintenance guy out. She was telling me oh not had any problems must of just come. Told her no way had there been no issue before. There was ant powder out side for starters. The maintenance guy was most sorry. He explained that they have had lots of problems with ants this year. Contradicted what I was told. We showed him where they were as they were physically in the living room area. He vacume and sprayed and left the spray with us. No body at the end of the day cab help the ants. I get that totally. I felt the second time I called it was an effort for her. No sorry no follow up call to check that we are ok. The amount we pay to rent out for a week this would go a long way. Such a shame as the overall barn itself was lovely. Little things to improve your stay. No tea and coffee. I left mine behind for the next people. After travelling it's always welcome to have tea and coffee. Nothing at all"

"The cottage was not clean when we arrived. There were grease and food marks on the kitchen cupboards and old food down the side of the cooker. There was a rug on the floor which looked very grubby. The cutlery in the kitchen was old and rusty and the pots and some of the mugs in the cupboard were stained. We went out to buy cleaning supplies the day we got there and I cleaned the cottage and disinfected it. We also had to buy some cutlery to use. The outside of the cottage was not particularly tidy and there seemed to be some sort of container out the back which is very unsightly. There were cushions on the double bed and one of them had a large stain on it. The whole place looked like it could do with some TLC and updating. There was a plague of flies every day and I realise the property is near/on a farm but something could be done to combat this as we counted at least 200 in our time there. We didn't complain as we had no idea where to complain to as nobody greets you on arrival. Thankfully we were only there four nights. We will not be returning."

"Cottage was full of cob webs and spiders. My 8 year old son who went for his daily showers and would call me to remove a spider. Due to the cottage being near Bristol Airport it's in the flight path and therefore plenty of noise from planes taking off and landing. Outside lights did not work. We arrived late at night and the downstairs toilet light bulb blew so i called the landlady and she told me that it was perfectly ok when she was cleaning the Cottage before we arrived. I did explain that bulbs do blow and it did require changing. The landlady did advise that her son who does the maintance was not on site and did not know when he would return or where he was. Finally the landlady agreed to come over with a bag of bulbs and i had to change it myself. We were told before the confirmation of our booking that the swimming pool was not working but they were working to get it sorted. Anyway neither did we see the swimming pool or hear anymore about it apart from a worker who told us that there was no swimming pool. l"
