More Norfolk Broads Cottages

The Norfolk Broads, a National Park full of surprises. This is the only British National Park with a city in it, and there are more waterway miles here than in Venice! Famed for it’s stunning sunsets and glistening waters, a trip to the Broads is sure to be one you won’t forget.

Naturally, as the Norfolk Broads are made up of many meandering waterways, a good option here is to take a day trip by boat to really experience the National Park in all its glory. However, here are also many paths to walk and cycle if you’d rather stay on firm ground. Market towns and quaint villages can be found dotted across the Broads so if you need somewhere to stop for refreshment there are plenty of pubs and tea shops to choose from here.

"The bedrooms and bathrooms in this cottage are lovely, clean and a good size, the welcome basket was also a nice touch. The living area however is awful and nothing seemed to work. We were only there a matter of minutes before the owner requested a deposit of £250 - I'm not quite sure what for, but this is a dated concept, I have stayed in a lot of cottages over the years and never have I been asked for a deposit. To be fair to him I did find this in the small print on my confirmation letter, I still didn't part with it though. No wifi is unforgiveable in this day and age. There is a sign outside that says there is no wifi talk to each other - we do talk to each other actually, we also live in the real world. No wifi would have been manageable if the house didn't appear to be cased in iron as the minute you step anywhere near you lose your signal. The TV didn't work, there was an issue with the volume, so the owner showed us how to work around this and had also provided us with another smaller TV, so the big TV had no sound but you could switch on the smaller TV to get sound, it was like living in Curry's!!! I ordered a Tesco shop, the fresh items were absolutely not going to fit into the sub-standard fridge. I opened the dishwasher and just closed it again, I wasn't going to go there, a tip to the owner though is to put some salt in it! The rugs in the living room were absolutely disgustingly filthy, I wouldn't let the kids take their shoes off. I tried to hoover up but naturally that didn't work either, even the dustpan and brush were cracked, trying to sweep up all the wasps that we had to kill was a nightmare. The hob was ok, but the oven is hideous, it's impossible to cook a meal in it because it takes so long to heat up and didn't heat properly. There were 2 tin openers neither of which worked, I mean come on you can get those in poundland! I gave up when even the scissors didn't work...The games room was ok, the kids enjoyed it, the jukebox didn't work and the kids aren't allowed in there alone, even though its just next door. There was a sign for a £20 deposit. The barbecue outside looked surprisingly clean, however there is a charge for the gas so we gave that a miss. This cottage is in the middle of nowhere, you can't walk to the pub or anywhere actually. It was massively overpriced and the living area really needs to be cleaned and updated. The cheap TVs and sub-standard fridge are testament to the complete lack of respect the owner has for his guests. If you have a disposable £250 that you're happy to hand over for no reason, and if you don't keep getting pestered for it, don't want cold milk, like wasps, don't mind filth and sticky chairs this is the place for you. I love Norfolk but I won't be coming back here and I definitely would not recommend."

"Enjoyed our stay in Little sea horses ,but it could do with an armchair or extra sofa in lounge as only room for 2 to relax on sofa had to bring chair in from kitchen to sit on to watch tv. TV in bedroom had no signal could only access radio on it. Very small toilet /shower room sink so small difficult to clean teeth as cabinet directly above. Also didn't like this being off the bedroom. It was ok as we were 3 ladies but would be difficult to have 2 couples there having to go through bedroom to use loo in night! On a positive note it is spotlessly clean and the kitchen is lovely. It is very central for all amenities. It is a lovely apartment for 2 people but cramped for 3 or 4."

"Very comfortable cottage furnished and equipped to a very high standard, All the comforts of home including personal touches and extras one wouldn't normally get in self catering accommodation, for example a welcome bottle of wine and box of chocolates, washer/ dryer and dishwasher complete with detergent and dishwasher tablets. Plenty of towels, comfortable beds and high quality bedding. Lovely peaceful location, lots of information leaflets provided by helpful and welcoming hosts Linda and Gary. Superb!! We would recommend this to anyone in search of a peaceful and relaxing holiday."

"A lovely cottage in a very rural location which met all our holiday needs. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Lots of places to visit in the Suffolk/Norfolk area we stayed for a fortnight but there are still places we'd have liked to visit but didn't have time. We would both love to stay at S17920 again and explore the area more. We headed for the coast on a number of days to try and keep cool, there's lots to do at Great Yarmouth and you can find free parking if you go beyond the Pleasure beach. We visited the circus whilst there which was amazing."

"A lovely clean, comfortable cottage with ample space for 4 people and a dog. S17920 was well equipped, with its own garden space with barbeque and garden furniture. The pool is great, especially as it is under cover which means you can use it whatever the weather. Lovely place to see lots of wildlife and great for dog walks. Owners were friendly and helpful and the wine and chocolates left for us on arrival was a lovely touch. I highly recommend this cottage if your looking for a quiet place to stay in easy reach of lots of places to visit."
