More Norfolk Broads Cottages

The Norfolk Broads, a National Park full of surprises. This is the only British National Park with a city in it, and there are more waterway miles here than in Venice! Famed for it’s stunning sunsets and glistening waters, a trip to the Broads is sure to be one you won’t forget.

Naturally, as the Norfolk Broads are made up of many meandering waterways, a good option here is to take a day trip by boat to really experience the National Park in all its glory. However, here are also many paths to walk and cycle if you’d rather stay on firm ground. Market towns and quaint villages can be found dotted across the Broads so if you need somewhere to stop for refreshment there are plenty of pubs and tea shops to choose from here.

"S17555 is a lovely property with lots of space and generally well equipped but in need of some TLC and a deep clean. We went with 3 family groups over the New Year period and were disappointed with the overall cleanliness. The large garden space was great. Large bedrooms, kitchen and living room were ideal with young kids.Hot water was a bit sporadic, even when using the immersion, meaning we couldn't all shower in the morning.Kitchen tap leaked from the base and occassionally made the worktop and even the floor very wet. Pots and pans were left dirty but we guess that could have just been the people that used the cottage before us.Very powerful shower in the main bathroom, but we had to clean out the plug as it was filthy. We also had to clean all the sinks when we arrived as they were dirty. Ensuite shower is very weak.Lots of items of decor, light shades etc were covered in dust.Has lots of potential and may be better value for money in off season, but we felt let down paying the high prices for New Year."

"We have stayed at this property before & this was the worse time ever.Dirt under the bread bin aswell as the microwave.Cobwebs.Insufficient cutlery, soup spoons instead of dessert spoons,5 tea spoons,Plates too shallow, bowls too big.The house needs more hooks,i.e.in the bathroom & bedrooms.Coat hooks far too small for lots of coats to hang.Vacuum cleaner absolutely useless.Kettle leaks & coated in limescale!!!!! YUK. Bin in kitchen far too small for 5 people. No spare lightbulbs. The drain smelt of effluent even tho that was reported. No cleaning products in house.Suggestions were left last year in a comment book, caretaker comments were 'its a self catering property'.Unable to leave property as clean as we normally would. So,be aware & bring your own house.Location is good."

"Great location for exploring Norfolk. The beach at Sea Palling is great for dogs and for long walks, it's beautiful. We found the property to be clean and well presented. We traveled down from Cumbria and this is a very long journey to say the least. The static caravan park at the rear of the property was very quiet whilst we were there (early September) but don't know what it would be like at peak times. The garden is very dog friendly and the rear is totally secure with high fencing all round. We really enjoyed our holiday and have no problem recommending S17315 from our experience whilst staying there. We are a couple with 2 dogs and found that the property was a perfect size for our needs."

"A lovely cottage, clean and very comfortable with the lovely heated swimming pool. The location is fantastic, with sea views from the lounge, some of the bedrooms and the large sliding doors at the end of the pool. There’s a large garden, laid to lawn, a lovely patio area for eating outdoors, but if the weather is poor the cottage is lovely and well equipped for rainy days, with TV’s, DVD’s and games and of course a heated pool! The location is great as you can visit so many places within a 30 minute radius, Cromer, Sherringham on the coast and Wroxham and the broads in land. The owner is a very nice person and made us feel very welcome too. A great place for families to stay. May 2012."

"This is the second time my family and I have holidayed at S17560. We have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The weather, although less favourable than last year, was not too bad and the presence of an indoor swimming pool more than compensated. My husband was pleased to speak with the owner briefly when he came to attend to the swimming pool. I believe he said enough to the owner to satisfy him how pleased we were with the accommodation provided. In particular, we were struck by the cleanliness and good appearance of S17560 when we arrived. An altogether excellent holiday. Thank you! July 2008."
