The Norfolk Broads, a National Park full of surprises. This is the only British National Park with a city in it, and there are more waterway miles here than in Venice! Famed for it’s stunning sunsets and glistening waters, a trip to the Broads is sure to be one you won’t forget.

Naturally, as the Norfolk Broads are made up of many meandering waterways, a good option here is to take a day trip by boat to really experience the National Park in all its glory. However, here are also many paths to walk and cycle if you’d rather stay on firm ground. Market towns and quaint villages can be found dotted across the Broads so if you need somewhere to stop for refreshment there are plenty of pubs and tea shops to choose from here.

"This was not our choice, as our 1st choice and the one where we were meant to stay at holiday cottage (2 bedroom cottage nr mundelsey beach)was not liveable so Hoseasons moved us to this one .The owner was more concerned with what review rating I would give him .we would never choose this type of holiday as the chalet was too small and no where near any beach(to take our dog on morning and evening runs). No Wi-Fi, although the owner did try and link us up with a nearby chalet(but too far for any signal). The dining table was a fold down patio type table stored in the bedroom. These chalets belong and are lived in by the owners so there were too much personalised furniture in this one . (didn't feel like a holiday home )at this site there are no facilities at all apart from a restaurant but was only opened on certain days of the week. and in our opinion too far to walk to any nearby shops. we arrived here on the Saturday for 6 days but we were so disappointed that our 1st choice holiday we were let down by owners not being honest and for this chalet was no where what we were looking for so we left early on the Wednesday morning. it would be unfair on us to give a negative review because its our belief that they type of holidaymakers that book this chalet would be more then happy with its quiet location, but we think its fair to review other aspects of this chalet ..after all we did pay for it!. car parking on this site is a joke we could not park anywhere near to this chalet to load or unload luggage. the washing machine and dryer were stored in a plastic shed outside and to the rear of the chalet. we feel this is a fair review all things considered"

"We booked S17585 for 2 weeks this year. Unfortunately all did not go to plan in week one, first we were told that the shower was constantly dripping and it stayed that way for nearly a week. Second the toilet did not flush properly and again stayed that way for nearly a week. Third we had to buy our own kettle as the one supplied had not been cleaned inside for a long time and it had no spout filter. Fourth the washing machine broke and was not fixed for 3 days. Fifth the surface of the inside of the microwave was coming away and was not fit to use and this was like it for almost a week. sixth there is no where to dry wet clothes as not everything can go in a tumble dryer so we had to buy our own airer. The double bed was in fact two single beds pushed together with single mattresses and sheets but did have a double duvet, trouble was the two beds kept coming apart and there was not much room in the bedroom at the best of times. Once all this was sorted the second week went fairly smoothly the flat was comfortable and in a quiet location our dog loved it. The two ladies who worked in the guest house were very friendly and pleasant."

"If your idea of a fantastic holiday is to be in a quiet, tranquil location in an area full of wildlife, staying in a place that feels home from home, then make a beeline for this place. The owner could not have been more welcoming. All the equipment you will need for a stay are provided e.g. cutlery, cling film. I guess the only downside was the lack of a sofa to cuddle up in front of the open fire but this is a really minor point. We saw Red and Muntjac deer, a barn owl, lots of pheasant and heard Tawny owls and we were not really looking that hard. Location is great in that you are close enough to civilisation for food and entertainment, yet out of the way enough to relax in tranquillity. Access to great countryside and other interesting places is easy. All in all a wonderful place. Dec 2011."

"An excellent and well maintained cottage with really stunning bathroom and wet room. Kitchen and dining area well appointed and very comfortable with good white goods, including a washer/dryer (once we had worked out how to use it). The lounge, while comfortable, was rather small, as was the bedroom. The beds were high quality and very comfortable, with TV in the bedroom as well as the lounge. Clearly the bathroom had been constructed with disabled people in mind, but it would not have beeen possible to get a wheelchair into the bedroom as the doorway and contents did not give enough room. The cottage was well equipped in every sense, and it is certainly somewhere to which we would like to return in future. It is fully deserving of the Gold award diisplayed in the lounge.David Simmons"

"The cottage contained every imaginable piece of equipment that a couple might need or want, all modern, new, high spec, high tec. A great deal of thought had obviously gone into this and we really enjoyed discovering and using it all.The welcome pack was also generous and well thought out, which we really appreciated.Gorleston actually has a lot to offer, although at first sight it seemed unpromising. The coming and going of vessels in the docks fills the view from the front windows and added to our enjoyment once we realised that we were looking at a working harbour that serves the off-shore oil industry. We found lots of interesting days out from our base at Koolunga: boat trips, days at the beach, steam railways, churches, walks etc. People in the area seemed very friendly too."
