"We have just spent a most wonderful week here, the accommodation is Just lovely 3 very good sized bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The living area is very spacious and comfortable and the kitchen has everything you would need. It has free WiFi and good phone reception. There is central heating which is very good as we did use it one night. It is set in the grounds of Swarland Old Hall and as there are only 2 it is quiet. The welcome pack us very nice 2 fresh loaves of bread, tea, milk, a lovely cake and bottle of wine which was very much appreciated. The area is beautiful and there is a lot to see. It is a working farm so there are animal's about but that never bothered us and the family that own and run this are very lovely people and just want you to enjoy your time there which we did"

"Mr & Mrs Proctor are very approachable, they had thought about the essentials on arrival, wine, cake and bread, very thoughtful. The lodges are extremely comfortable, very warm and very clean. All facilities are modern and efficient, hot water is plentiful and the heating can be set to just how you like it. The location is just about right, it is a very rural position but only 10mins away from shops, public house etc. The lodges are within a working farm environment so you will get the sounds and smells that go with farming, so don't be surprised when they are feeding the cattle at 7.30 in the morning, although we never heard anything once inside the lodge. Overall a great weeks holiday in a nice location with friendly hosts who try to think of everything."

"An excellent base for a family holiday in Northumberland. Easy reach of the coast and beaches, plus inland to National Trust and places like the beautiful Alnwick Gardens and castle. We had a warm welcome on arrival with a few tasty treats to get us going and help was available throughout our stay. Accommodation is ideal with three great sized bedrooms and three bathrooms. Safe and secure play area in sight of the property and of course there’s the farm to explore along the footpaths. We were lucky to be there as lambing was taking place. At nights you are surrounded by quiet - refreshing to hear only the sounds of nature and not of traffic. All in all most highly recommended."

"On arrival we called at the owners home opposite and was warmly welcomed by the owner Mrs Proctor. The lodge was immaculate and beautifully furnished. There was a welcoming bottle of wine, biscuits, milk and bread. The grounds surrounding the lodge were also well kept and there was a play area for younger children with swings and slides. The views from the lodge were spectacular looking over the surrounding farmland, you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere. However there is easy access to the main A1 which will take you to many of the attractions in the area. Amongst the best holiday homes I've stayed in in the last 20 years."
