If culture and history are what you’re after, you can visit the city’s imposing cathedral, or the museum and art gallery which has all manner of artefacts from this area's past. The covered market is also worth a visit, not only does it have a great selection of fresh produce, but it has been a staple of life here for over 150 years. Outside the city centre there is a rich choice for day trips; choose from the National Roman Legion Museum, the Newport Wetlands Reserve or even the spectacular Tredegar House.

What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Newport To Rent.

"OK let's see, the place was not clean enough for me. One shower is not enough for six people who are allowed to sleep in this cottage. The towels and the bedding had a very used feel and there were even really wet towels left in the bathroom. One of the two toilets were blocked and it took the owners a few days to answer our calls. The kitchen has been updated but the oven and the hob were dirty. In my opinion the cleaner is not good enough between clients. The instructions given for getting to the cottage are terribly unclear and it took many times round the roundabout to find it, which we did with our own GPS in the end. The location is good but out of the main drag with not walkable shop for provisions which was not indicated. We enjoyed our time there because we do not dwell on imperfections but no I would not recommend it and would not return."

"The cottage was in a beautiful location and very quiet. Although it was on the owner's property, it was just inside the drive so we were left completely alone but close enough should we have had any issues. The accommodation was immaculate with good quality bedding (a must for a comfy sleep). Toiletries, tea, coffee and milk were provided for when we first arrived and lots of literature regarding the Isle of Wight to enable us to plan and make the most of our week away. Mrs Turner (owner) was very approachable and friendly and nothing would have been too much trouble if we needed any assistance. All in all this little cottage ticked all our boxes, completely restored our faith in cottage holidays and we would not hesitate in returning. Jan and Simon Newman"

"Ael y Bryn was the perfect holiday home for our family of 5. We had a lovely welcome from the owners, including a delicious cake and some milk. The house is a great combination of character and home comforts. Lovely garden with seating area and nice views to the surrounding countryside. Perfect quiet location but literally within a few minutes walk of gorgeous Newport, with its fantastic shops, cafes and restaurants - and charming toy museum. All that you need for the week. Lots of lovely walks direct from the house and a fantastic beach. Couldn't wish for more. We will be back."

"Perfect spot for festival and in a lovely setting by the marina. All you need in house but found it wasn’t clean enough we had to have a clean up a bit when we arrived. The bedside lamps thick with dust/ dirt and just little things that let it down like that. And dead flies on window sills. Needs a bit more tlc! The kitchen has paper towels covering the smoke alarm which cannot be right. On positives was well equipped with all you would need and the beds although the mattress was smaller than the frame on master bedroom (and the bruises show ) was Comfy ."

"Holiday was excellent. Cottage is well positioned on the Medina in Newport with good access for the town amenities as well as well served by the road network.Although the cottage is in an industrial area, it is wonderfully quiet in the evenings and at night. This was as described in the website details for the cottage. It could do with a little TLC in some areas(hence the lower score) but was clean, tidy and with all the right tools and facilities. Definitely stay again, which reflects all the comments in the visitors comments book."
