What our customers are saying about our New Year Cottages In Staffordshire To Rent.

"We stayed here as a family of four, for a week in October and it was fantastic. I don't feel that the photos actually do the cottage, its facilities and surroundings full justice. The cottage itself is extremely cosy and warm (I didn't know what to expect from under floor heating but it was really warm) and had everything we needed in the kitchen with bed linen, towels and cosy blankets provided. There is a bath and a separate shower upstairs plus an additional toilet down stairs. Sky TV was a great bonus. There isn't a washing machine so families need to bear this in mind but there is a drying rack which we used for our swimming cosies. The entrance hall is nice and big with good storage for coats and shoes etc. The facilities were perfect, our boys made full use of the full sized table tennis table and pool table and the pool just next door, which we had all to ourselves (the shepherds hut which is also on the site was not booked out but this only sleeps two and is sheltered behind a hedge away from the cottage which keeps it private). It felt like such a treat and was so relaxing. It was easy to get to and find but feels remote when you are there and the living room doors open straight onto a wonderful view of fields and woodlands and there is very little light pollution so it was great to see the stars at night. The only interruptions were from the pheasants wandering past the windows in the morning. It is only about 5 miles to Uttoxeter which has Waitrose and Tesco (we got a Tesco delivery on the first night which saved a lot of hassle) and its well located for a lot of activities, we went to Jodrell Bank, Twycross Zoo and Splash World at Alton Towers, but there is also Sudbury Hall (National Trust), Monkey Forest, and Adventure Farm and Brewery tours at Burton on Trent, all close by. The cottage owners were really friendly and welcoming and have created a lovely holiday retreat."

"Me and my wife stayed here for a long weekend. We had a fantastic weekend, the hot tub was nice and warm, the staff were very helpful and considering there is lots of lodges around there is still a lot of privacy. Regarding the inside, the kitchen was brilliant, not too much and not too little. The lounge was just a bog standard sofa and TV which is enough for what we wanted. The bed was really comfortable, I haven't slept that well for a long time. The shower was slightly cold but I feel that could be due to hot water going to the hot tub which we understood. Only downfall was we stayed in lodge cabin number 50 and there appeared to be a few ants coming from between the 2 bedrooms, where there was a gap between the floor and wall. There wasn't millions just a handful, which we got rid of by sticking tissue in the hole. But except for that slight problems everything was absolutely wonderful. Would definitely go back."

"The lodge was clean, tidy and homely. However the layout of the living room and the placement of the dining table made the place feel very cramped. There was two of us staying in a lodge that slept 4 and was perfect for just us two, however would have been too small for 4 people. Hot tub was amazing and the area was beautiful. Staff was excellent and the kitchens had everything needed. However there was no iron and ironing board, you needed to borrow this from the main desk for a small deposit fee which was a pain if you was mid getting ready and needed to drive across to reception. There was many flies that swamed you the second you got in the hot tub too, which couldn’t be helped at all due to the foresty location, however would have been good if there was a can of fly spray as they did bother you quite a lot. All in all would be back in a heartbeat and couldn’t thank Quarry Walk for a lovely long relaxing weekend."

"Lodge was quite dated, needed to be updated. When booked I asked for one of the twin rooms to be made into a double.. it wasn’t. The other twin rooms bed wasn’t even made. The ensuite was dirty and grubby, toilet was coming from the wall and rust everywhere. In the kitchen you would expect everything to be clean and spotless but we even had dirty dishes which had been put back in the cupboard as ‘clean’. We didn’t end up taking our dog to the lodge but I’m glad I didn’t because it wasn’t secure, no gate outside to even stop him from wandering. For the amount of money that is charged, the quality and cleanliness of the lodge wasn’t good enough."

"I am taking part in a novice triathlon in July so chose this particular cottage as there was a swimming pool which enabled me practice swimming daily. The owners, the swimming pool, the cottage , the surroundings were all wonderful and definitely exceeded our expectations . We were able to hire bikes locally and cycle along the Tissington Trail and there are so many amazing walks in the area. I am writing a blog of my training and have used the photograph of the cottage and pool in the last article. jennystri70.wordpress.com"
