"Hay on Wye is a lovely area; 'S16888' overlooks the River Wye and so SHOULD be idyllic. The property falls down on several counts... It is reasonably clean and reasonably well equipped inside, but, only reasonably. However, there were insufficient number of towels when we arrived.. they were expecting only 2 people and so laid out towels for this number. Our daughter joined us for 2 nights and so we had to ring to ask for extra. We arrived in a gloriously warm spell of weather.. S16888 is a modern town house over 3 floors, three of the bedrooms being on the 2nd floor and are overwhelmingly hot. There wasn't a fan provided, although to their credit, once we asked, the managers obliged by buying one the next day.Our main criticism however, is the poor condition of the 2 balconies; the lower is mediocre but, because the bank below was SO overgrown it felt uncomfortable to sit and look at the river. The upper balcony is filthy, with spiders webs and dust etc. accumulated from many months. The lower balcony is a little cleaner, but again was tatty with a grubby cover thrown over, I presume, a barbecue.... I didn't really want to touch any of it. We were disappointed as really don't feel this property warrants a five star rating. I would welcome your comments please."

"Stayed as a family with elderly parents and a well behaved dog. The place was very reasonably priced and some of the décor reflected the price. That saying, we had a great time, the place was comfortable and warm and cosy. The kitchen was quite well equipped , although they could do with a few baking sheets for the oven, The stairs were quite difficult for my old mum, who's not as agile as she used to be. The stair carpet is threadbare - it reminded me very much of a gite. Please be aware that dogs are only allowed downstairs. The bathrooms had good showers. The bedrooms are big with lovely views. The area is great for walks. Ludlow and Knighton are near- Knighton had a chipshop and takeaways. We visited the Sitwell Arms- dogs are allowed. We had the tasty carvery on the Sunday.(we booked after visiting on the Friday and advised it gets booked up ) The 2 pubs and the tiny village shop are all a very short walk away. There are lots of games and books available- the tv hasn't all the freeview channels but it worked fine. The docking station worked fine too- didn't try the upstairs tvs .All in all we had a lovely time."

"We spent three days at Ty Bach with our dog at the beginning of November and loved it; we were blessed with beautiful autumnal sunshine for two days which was obviously a bonus but even in the rain it was beautiful. I have rheumatoid arthritis and was concerned the hut may feel damp and cold but it was warm and cosy with the wood burner blazing. There is only a single gas ring to cook on but there is a full size barbecue in the large storage shed. The hut is thoughtfully kitted out and, on arrival, the owner made us feel very welcome and left us a box of provisions, including delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake, bread and marmalade and fresh eggs. The bed was very comfy, the shower surprisingly good and the eco compost toilet was ... an experience. Would we go again? Definitely. NB: If you have mobility issues, Ty Bach is probably not for you because of its access down a sloping path which was covered in leaves and slippery when wet, with no handrail. Also, the three steps into the hut are quite steep and narrow."

"This is a fabulous house with everything you'd need or want from a holiday home. The location is beautiful and the house is stunning; perfect for family holidays or a group of friends to chill out. The outside space gets the sun pretty much all day and the hot tub is very relaxing. The bedrooms are large with comfy beds and beautiful views across the fields. Kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need, including a utility room with a large fridge freezer. There is no signal here but we liked that as you werent distracted by texts and phkne calls. There is wifi though and its really good so youre not totallh cut off if you want to look on the net. 7 of us used it ag the same time and it worked perfectly. We loved our stay here and booked to go back again as soon as we got home! The owners are friendly and on arrival there was a home baked cake waiting for us which was delicious and did not last very long at all! Overall a beautiful house and location and we all look forward to going back!"

"Heaven in a hut! 4 days of peace n tranquility,a haven for couples that just want to kick back n relax. The owner really has thought of everything,we are seasoned to staying in huts and came very well prepared but wasn’t needed as everything was provided.Even down to a homemade lemon drizzle cake and homemade bread, with marmalade, butter and milk.Cleanliness was brilliant, the quality of duvet, pillows etc fabulous. Was pleasantly surprised with the shower, was very warm and good flow of water.Stunning scenery, owner is near by for anything you may need.We parked the car and forgot about it till the morning we left.We made use of bbq for all our cooking, being in such a stunning setting it was a pleasure. Will definitely be going again"
