"Really enjoyed our stay last week. Shared the cottage with another family, 4 adults and three children in total. Plenty of room and comfortable. Village is v.quiet and nearest pub, the Nags head was a 5 minute drive on the way to Pontesbury which has a bakery, a co-op which is open 6am-10pm every day, two Chinese’s takeaways and a chip shop.Beds in cottage were comfortable, clean big bathrooms with instant hot water etc. Tv has free view which was a downgrade from sky, but more than adequate for the week. The owner Jayne who lives next door was very friendly as well as her dogs. The village is 5 miles from Shrewsbury which has the usual amenities, bowling, cinema and supermarkets. Also has a museum of local military history in the castle which was worth a visit. One hr south is Rhayader where the red kite feeding station is situated. Again worth a visit to see approx 300-400 wild red kites feeding 50 meters away and only £20 for a family of 4. Also managed a walk up Earls hill which has great views, but not an easy walk. The first few hundred meters were gravel tracks which soon became several hundred meters of very steep banks through the woods, but definitely worth the walk.Planned to go to Snowdon, but too far for children to walk and trains booked way in advance, so if this is on your agenda book in advance.Would We return, definitely. Plenty more to see and do that we could not manage in our week. A very beautiful part of the country which we would contemplate moving to."

"We've just had a really lovely family Christmas at S80439. We wanted a 'generous' type of place to facilitate this and make it a proper treat, and it did not disappoint! All the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated to a very high standard, with comfortable beds and luxurious linen and towels. The equipment is abundant and high-tech with pretty much anything you could possibly want supplied- the coffee machine was excellent, and we had fun with the robot hoovers! The welcome basket was a lovely surprise which we weren't expecting, generously filled with the best of local produce, including a hand-made Christmas cake from Helen, one of the owners- a thoughtful and much appreciated touch. Communication regarding the booking and various practicalities was excellent, and their posting on of a couple of things we managed to forget was very kind of them.We didn't venture very far afield, mainly because we were enjoying ourselves in the house too much! Bromyard is a very short drive away, with some interesting and useful shops, and a farm vending shop a couple of minutes up the road supplies logs, eggs, and that sort of thing. We didn't make a lot of use of the outside areas apart from a game of boules as it was too cold, but enjoyed the superb views from the sun lounge to the full."

"A lovely cottage, with a well equipped kitchen and lounge and two bedrooms. It is well away from the main farmhouse, and it is hard to spot any other civilisation even with its sweeping views of the countryside. It is an eco cottage with no mains electricity - it is instead supplied from a wind turbine and has batteries as a backup, as well as a petrol generator for windless days. It doesn't have any high consumption items, even the kettle is heated on the gas hob. The heating is from a woodburning stove which was lit when i arrived. It burns logs fast, they need replacing every 30 mins or so, but there is a large store outside, though these are exposed and some were wet or damp. It was really hard to light the fire when it went out - it took a lot of time feeding it with newspaper and twigs and I think the logs were damp which didn't help - a lesson on how to do it better would have been helpful. The instructions on how to use the three levers and knob on the fire differed between a) what the owner said, b) what the instructions in the manual said, and c) what other guest comments said... Some consistency would be very helpful. It is the only source of heat and as it goes out an hour after being fed, it could get very cold indoors at night if the weather was cold."

"What a wonderful house. Everything so well furnished, well thought out and luxurious and so comfortable for family, children and baby. The welcome pack was amazing, certainly the best and most welcoming we have ever had. All was local produce and included where to source them. We bought some extra from the local suggested sources. The kitchen was amazing. We used the Aga and the pizza oven which were excellent. It was great having so many well thought out kitchen utensils, cutlery etc. All perfect for a celebration and made everything so relaxing. The beds were amazingly comfortable and we all loved the soft furnishing etc. We were so well catered for, including a celebration cake for my husband’s birthday, made by Helen and wonderful. Everywhere was very clean, the bathrooms all brilliant. We did a couple of National Trust places locally and had walks and explored Bromyard and Leominster. It was a most memorable house, the best we have ever stayed in. The design is perfect for family inter generational meet up and celebrations. My only regret was that we could not stay in it for ever, we will definitely be returning though. Thank you to Helen for making the house so fabulous and making us so welcome."

"The cottage was arguably one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Helen and Steve made us welcome right from the booking stage with a follow up email and recommendations for a perfect Sunday lunch to celebrate 2 b'days. Helen's homemade cake went down well after the journey and the basket of local produce let as a welcome gift was perfect. The cottage itself was amazing and just as it was described on the site. Well presented and equipped with all modern accessories yet preserving a nice homely feeling. This truly is a Luxury cottage and Steve and Helen made sure of it from the toilets to luxury bedrooms to the well presented garden. We had a party of 8 and there was enough space for everyone to relax and enjoy this beautiful cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking to book a cottage for a short weekend break or for a longer period. Our only regret was that we had only booked it for a short weekend break. We would definitely be coming back to this cottage!"
