"We booked S21606 as it quoted the cottage was all on one level. Having a disabled and partially blind wife - this info was important to us. The cottage was in fact on several different levels. There is a huge step from the uneven uphill road to actually get into the cottage then more little steps inside which leads to different rooms. Not being able to see and not too good on her feet my wife did trip trying to get over these. There were covers covering the furniture. One was covered with bits and dog hair. Their was no heating on and the thermostat didn't work. We found out that it was because it was controlled by the owner and we had to ask him if he could put it on because being a rainy and cold may day it was freezing in the cottage. Our 6 year old soon got a chill and was unwell for most of our stay. The paths around the cottage and leading down to the farm are covered in potholes and very uneven. Not at all suitable for disabled people. My daughter did enjoy the pool and horse riding which cost £17.50 for half an hour. It could be a smashing little place if it was done up a little."

"We spent a fabulous week in this cottage. The cottage is set in a very quite location just a short drive from Tintern Abbey, We received a warm welcome on our arrival and the Welsh cakes were particularly good! The cottage is well decorated and was in a good condition. There was a wood burner in the lounge but the cost of wood, kindling and fire lighters was extra. Having left all this for us, it would have been helpful if there had been some matches! The countryside around the cottage is beautiful and there are plenty of places to visit. Chepstow and Monmouth are the nearest towns, approximately 6 miles away and they are also the nearest place for shopping."

"6 of us stayed at Foxes Reach for a relaxing catch-up/ getaway and we had a fantastic stay. The cottage is lovely and cosy yet modern, the kitchen facilities were great with everything you need. There is a local shop approx a 5 min drive at Llandogo for the staples (milk & bread etc). Tinern is lovely, The Anchor was closed so we went to The Mill for lunch which was very friendly and had nice food, we also did the 'Whitestone Walk' which has some great views & a little waterfall. The hot tub and log fire were the main attractions for us and didn't dissapoint!! Great weekend had by all, thank you!"

"The converted stable cottage was lovely with great walks for people and dogs alike! The lake is beautiful and a lovely walk around it where the dogs can be off the lead. The only down side for us was the bathrooms, there was quite a lot of black mould around the tiles/glass etc, which was unpleasant. Also the shower in the bath is only of use to those 4 ft or under as it cannot go any higher!Overall there was plenty of space and our cottage had an enclosed, private garden and 4, yes FOUR toilets!!!"

"This place is a wonderfully placed hidden gem and we can't wait to go back. If you're looking for peace and tranquillity then this id the place to go, the friendly atmosphere is a bonus. The hosts were lovely, down to earth and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Collecting your own fresh eggs for breakfast was delightful, the eggs were so fresh and yummy. I made friends with plenty of farm animals too which was an awesome experience. We hope to go back soon."
