"There are times when you purchase a holiday and you wonder whether it’s as perfect as the website states. Bailey cottage certainly didn’t disappoint. It’s situated in a quiet location but close enough to smaller towns so you don’t feel too isolated. Bailey cottage is very well equipped for a large group and the games room, including a piano was well used. Bailey cottage is joined onto the owners home but we never felt as though the owners were prying or watching us....in fact they were very welcoming and their 2 collie dogs were lovely natured and enjoyed having a ball thrown to them. The WOW factor for my family was the hot tub which was used everyday...even in the rain!! There was an enclosed garden for our use but the owners were happy for us to walk in their gardens which had pear and apples trees and free range hens! Whilst on our holiday we encountered a wasps nest near our back door and within a couple of hours of reporting this to the owners it was sorted out...we couldn’t have asked for anything more.If there was anything that we could have changed or perhaps would have liked to have known before we went was that the owners also run their business from their land and sometimes we were woken early by the comings and goings from their yard. Two of the bedrooms are twin rooms and the beds are pine frames which makes it difficult to put the beds together if you are a couple sharing the bedrooms. Although a washing machine is supplied and there are outside washing lines, a tumble dryer might be nice when the weather isn’t quite so warm so you are able to dry clothes and towels. But for us.....it was a lovely cottage with big pluses for the lovely large upstairs lounge, big dining tables enabling us all to eat together, games room, enclosed garden, hot tub and beautiful environment. We had a wonderful weeks break."

"Overall we had a lovely time staying at Bailey Cottage. There was a group of 10 of us, including 2 children & 2 dogs. Everyone said their beds were comfortable etc however the sofa bed in the living room was a little small to accommodate 2. The entire cottage was a brilliant size which meant we had plenty of space to lounge about. We loved the games room & the piano! The kitchen was great too which meant cooking for all of us was never an issue. It was nice to have our own enclosed garden with the hot tub. We were a little disappointed on the first night to be asked to keep the noise down whilst using the hot tub. It was before midnight & it made us feel a little uncomfortable. There were many, many positives to staying at Bailey cottage & we would recommend to others to stay. The little things that I feel perhaps could be considered are the check in time being a little earlier. 4pm is quite late, especially considering check out time is 10am. It felt like we lost a day.Extra bin bags / food waste bags could be provided to ensure recycling is never an issue. Hand soap to be provided in all of the bathrooms.Perhaps installation of shower in the main bathroom as the en suites didn't feel private when everyone else had to use them for a shower.Provide a better WiFi connection or remove it from the advertising of the property as it is non existent. We felt very welcomed by the owners and by their lovely dogs Ben & Joe. Thank you for a lovely stay."

"On arrival to the cottage you're instantly greeted with stunning views and a nice sense of remoteness. The front door leads you into a small wooden vestibule and a further door into the open plan dining lounge area with a small wooden burner and separated by solid thick stone arches. To the left and through a doorway under the stairs is the large fully equipped kitchen and to the right is a small snug area with TV, a rear boot room/utility and wc. Upstairs off the landing is a double bedroom and bathroom to the right and a single and further double with ensuite to the left. Overall the facilities are very good, nice to have a couple of bottles of wine waiting for us, the location great and the views stunning. A few niggles - a basket of logs and starter log were supplied but nothing to light it with, we had to borrow from the neighbouring barn. You can't relax in front of the fire watching TV as they're in different rooms. The general cleanliness was a bit disappointing like mouldy/dirty shower screens, toothpaste on taps, some slightly dirty cups, some cobwebs and dust. We didn't complain about it (although contemplated) as I'm sure someone would have been sent to clean but in all honesty it should already have been done. This didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay but certainly not expected from a 5* accommodation. We would certainly recommend S27042 and would stay again. (we left a large box of matches for the fire)"

"We spent our Christmas here with family travelling from Spain and Berkshire. We had the best time and the house was fabulous. It was lovely having the kitchen by the main table and a small lounge so we were all cosy in that room whilst the children could play in the games room with a pool table and dart board. It was lovely seeing the dogs everyday and being so close to a lovely walk across the fields and by the river and horses. The views were just lovely. It is also walking distance to the pub so no cooking necessary if you don't want to cook! The owners were close at hand if we ran out of anything (loo roll, washing-up-liquid etc) so that was very handy. The only criticism was that the house was advertised as sleeping 11 but one of the doubles was in the main lounge (which is upstairs) so this couldn't have worked over Christmas with Father Christmas delivering the presents to the young children in the lounge. We put all the children top-to-tail in the twin and the other couple used the other twin. Really the house should be advertised as a 9 bed house. Also there was no hand soap - so bring soap!"

"Had a fabulous time at Bailey Cottage. Sharon was very welcoming and the 2 Collies were good playmates for our dog. The cottage is lovely, comfortable beds and furniture and a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. There were 7 adults and a toddler in our party and there was plenty of room for all of us with two long kitchen tables downstairs and a big sitting room with plenty of sofas and chairs upstairs. We took a big bag of logs with us so we could use the log burner in the sitting room so were very warm and cosy. The weather wasn't great on the long weekend we stayed, so we didn't go out for long walks, but we wandered round the gardens around the cottage with our dog and the collies for company and got to see lots of kites and other birds circling above us. We used the hot tub one evening which is a great addition to the garden. We all loved the cottage and agreed that it was one of the best we've ever stayed at and are wondering when we can arrange to come back again."
