"Property was clean, well-furnished, comfortable and warm (once we got the heating going; see below). A generous supply of logs for the open fire was provided, with permission to take more from the adjoining barn. Property was quiet and peaceful. We were advised by the housekeeper that we could access the property after 2.00 p.m. rather than the standard 4.00 p.m., which was helpful. We arrived about 3.00 p.m. at which point the heating was not on and the house was cold (bearing in mind this was one of the coldest weeks of the winter). Also, the fridge and freezer were turned off (we note that other guests had commented on this in the visitors' book; it would be helpful for the fridge and freezer to be cold for the purposes of receiving supermarket deliveries etc.).The oil fired heating in the single storey part of the property produced a strong and unpleasant smell of oil when running; we wonder if the burners require cleaning/adjustment?A number of pieces of crockery were badly chipped and a few glasses were cracked (not by us!).There were no spare bin liners or food recycling bags (despite the dire warnings about the council's strict recycling rules).Although generally well-equipped, there were a few kitchen basics missing, e.g. a fish slice (useful for flipping fried eggs even if no fish cookery occurs!)."

"We had a lovely weeks stay here, location is beautiful with amazing views and so close to bath. only a 10 min drive House is a lovely old cottage and so appreciate it has rustic charms. we had a very restful week here but did miss not having any WiFi as husband is self employed and did need to do some work and we used a lot of data on our phones. limited tv channels which may be an issue for some in the evenings, there is a wide range of dvds though which were great to watch after dinner. Top balcony has stunning views and we enjoyed sitting up there, just needed a sun umbrella to make it perfect as gets very hot up there in the sun. This is a great place for a quiet getaway for a couple, in a rustic location. overall a very enjoyable week away."

"we had a lovely short stay in S82927 in october. Our hosts were very welcoming and offered us the use of their lovely garden to sit in if we wished. There was wine and chocolate for us on arrival, and some toiletries in the bathroom. The cottage is very cute and quaint with lots of history attached to it. Bed was lovely and comfortable , kitchen is small but fairly well equipped but we didnt intend on doing any cooking ! Huge bonus points are the village shop and the Pub which are literally right across the road . Only slight negatives were the traffic goes right past the door so you do notice that a bit and we did light the log fire but it smoked a bit through the cottage. Other than that it was lovely and a fab base for exploring the area!"

"S82927 is an ideal location for visiting all the area has to offer, Malmesbury, Westonbirt, Slimbridge, and many others. The cottage has a very small kitchen and small bathroom - which is in need of refurbishment. The sitting room is fine for two with a nice open fire. Steep stairs lead to a larger bedroom with open-beamed ceiling, definitely the best room of the cottage. Located on a crossroad, morning and evening traffic can be quite noisy - but we expected that, and crossing to the car-park or the pub needs extra care. The local shop has a few essentials should you be eating at home, though larger supermarkets are not too far away. Overall a nice place to stay, just be aware of it's size, low doorways, steep stairs, and traffic noise."

"Lovely old property clean and very spacious - a really lovely house and perfect distance from Bath. BE AWARE OF THE ADDITIONAL ELECTRICITY BILL AT THE END OF YOUR STAY! The electricity bill at the end of the holiday is something to be very aware of though particularly in the colder months as the property is only equipped with old storage heaters and very old appliances that seem to eat up the pennies - over 65 for electricity in one week was very steep given the price of the property itself and that we really didn't have the heat on that much. If the electricity bills are so high the owner really should look at switching to more energy efficient options and insulating doors and windows as there are gaps to see the sunlight through."
