"We stayed between the 6th and 13th of April for a week with our two young children who loved being in the same room at night as well as the many hiding places whilst playing hide and seek. The main bedroom was a bit on the tight side and felt it would be better if the rooms were swapped. The cottage itself was fine and we thought everyone was catered for. We didn't realize that there was no washing machine when we booked , and with local muddy walks on the doorstep it became somewhat of a nuisance not being able to wash the kids clothing (although we used the kitchen sink to do handwashes). Perhaps replacing the dishwasher with a washing machine might be of more use? Also, if using the dishwasher switch it on when you go out as it's noise means you cannot watch TV at the same time. It was our first visit to Northumberland and we were taken away by the beauty of the area. Unfortunately the weather was awful for most of the week and we didn't get to visit places as much as we would have liked. The moorings cottage next door had occupants in for four days of our stay in S14705 which made for interesting parking issues - they had three cars and made it very difficult for us to park our car in the allotted car space (might be worth a polite notice in front of the S14705 sign). We are former holiday cottage owners and we realize you can't keep everyone happy but we felt very comfortable in S14705 and it's location was ideal for sightseeing. It was just a shame we had not fully checked the facilities when we booked as the lack the washing machine did cause an issue mainly as the bad weather resulted in lots of muddy clothing."

"The cottage was quite pleasant, reasonably well decorated and a welcome pack. The big miss was a washing machine. The fridge/freezer in the cupboard was a real pain-in-the-neck, making it difficult to open the door, snecking fingers and ensuring that the cupboard was unable to be used. I would be much better to have the fridge/freezer against the wall, but that would block the light switches. Perhaps the switches need to be moved to allow this to happen. And somewhere needs to be found for a washing machine. The cottafge was pleasant, but the way that the kitchen was laid out just made us annoyed, and spoiled our holiday a little. Nice walks round about, but wear wellies, as the were quite a bit muddy (it had been wet). Beach walks were good as was the nature reserve (but ,again, some parts muddy). Amble is a pleasant wee town and the Sunday market was good. We enjoyed our week, but will probably pick a different cottage the next time we go to Northumberland."

"Lovely, very clean and well positioned for the beach. Well equipped with everything needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay.Complimentary bottle of wine, chocolate bars, flowers and dog treat was a nice touch. On arrival I had received a text from the owner to advise the shower was not working and a plumber was ordering a replacement. This was a little disappointing, however the owner was quick to get it sorted and also gave us a refund. After a few days a new shower had been fitted, having little impact on our lovely break. Can recommend Lewis Fish and Chip shop, the Indian Brassiere and the Golf club in Seahouses, all providing amazing food. The Craster arms in Beadnell also served lovely food, although a bit pricey for certain dishes. Some starters were £9 and £10. Mains from £10."

"The location is great and the beds are very comfortable. However the house itself felt neglected and grubby. The cooker extractor hood did not work. The dishwasher would only close if jammed shut with a broom handle. The toaster was full of charred bread. The dining table was sticky with old food. There was a chopping board in the cupboard covered with dried chicken and blood. The bathroom bin was full from the previous occupants and the floor around it filthy. Additionally, the cottage to which S14468 is attached was being renovated and it sounded as though the hammering and drilling were in the room with you. Add intermittent internet to this and you have a house in which you cannot relax and enjoy your holiday."

"We have just returned from a 4 day stay aT the S14483 in Beadnell. What a fantastic cottage it is, with modern decor and spotlessly clean. Every last detail has been thought of by the owners, from a wii for the children to dvds to watch, a shoe rack and coat stand, a very well equipped kitchen and wood for the wood burner. The welcome packs of treats for the children and wine and chocolates for mum and dad were also very much appreciated. The surrounding area is stunning, with lots of beaches and coastal walks on offer, all without having to drive anywhere. Further afield there is plenty to do too. We will certainly be returning to this gorgeous place!"
