"A lovely base to stay and for dog walks. Good size living areas downstairs and a big kitchen. Two large size double bedrooms and two single rooms (not used) Two Sky boxes in the downstairs rooms to cover most of the basic channels you'll need. Property mainly let down but the poor parking. Driveway is totally useless, too small and needs to be much wider. We only managed to park safely on the road outside of the property from the Mon-Thurs. (Billed as two car spaces well only if you have micro cars. Front room sofa and one chair totally in need of replacing / or putting in more support very uncomfortable. For anyone with mobility issues large front step and back. No downstairs toilet but two upstairs. Microwave didn't work and reported Sat replaced with another old one Monday which helped a lot as the oven / hob was awful to use.Two hook hangers in the hall (both only fit to hang dog leads on as loose) some hooks under the stairs for coats but door to this area had a small catch so not ideal to use often. Back garden good size although three fence panels were in need of repair, garden overgrown and needed work.Hot Tub nice but very noisy and some jets not working, would be better enclosed in a Conservatory to reduce noise and heat lost. Overall we loved the base and the property with a bit of work could easily be made up to a 10 in no time, it seemed a tired property awaiting an upgrade but we still loved it as did the dogs. Off road parking / driveway needs to be wider is the urgent task and front room sofa replaced. Guests won't like the cooker oven/hob (takes ages to cook anything) and the place needs a better microwave (although the one brought in Mon got us by) and definately needs a stand alone mini oven."

"Extremely disappointing. We did not like the area and when we drew up to the cottage, nearly turned around and looked for a hotel, but so tired decided to put up with it. The lady next door asked us to move our car directly after arriving, we did not intend leaving it there it was just to unload but she opened the door immediately. The cottage is very small and very badly equipped. No lamps in the lounge only a central light. No coffee table. Nowhere to eat a meal even if you did decide to eat in. The bathroom was not nice, needs refurbishment. It was a last minute thing and totally the wrong decision for us. No one mentioned the property is for sale at present. The so called courtyard garden was a disgrace, wouldn't even think of sitting out there and where the key was kept at the front you had to put your hand through an overgrown prickly bush full of white fly. Decided in future not to take any more cottage holidays."

"The cottage is quirky and unusual. However the standard of cleanliness was not good and we bought throws to put over the furniture in the living room as they were marked and dirty. We should have contacted the firm/owner straight away as after I contacted the owner she apologised about the smell from the dishwasher which should have had a new filter fitted and the smell in the bathroom was due to stale water in the jets of the bath. She thought the furniture just needed a wipe over, we think it would need a more thorough clean. The pub was noisy on Saturday night - certainly not the owner's fault, neither was the garage across the road which started work at about 7 in the morning. The cottage is old and interesting, it is easy to travel from here into London."

"We had a wonderful Christmas break at The Coach House - the owners are really friendly and welcoming, we were delighted by the table laid out with goodies on our arrival - scones, mince pies and sherry! The cottage is beautiful, the kitchen was well stocked, and the owners very helpfully checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed for a Christmas meal, they also gave lots of really good recommendations about nearby places to visit and eat. The cottage has just been refurbished and its obvious that thought and care has been put into things. The cottage is a short walk from Alton waters which makes for a beautiful lazy after-lunch walk. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

"The family who own the house live in the grounds. They are kind compassionate helpful and no problem troubled them including me accidentally leaving very late. They are an incredible team working together to ensure they sort your problems as they happen. I had a fan delivery which needed built and they offered to build it as I have been struggling with the heat. They are incredibly kind and friendly and I left after 2 weeks having made good friends. The house is charming and the garden gorgeous and the view over the fields tranquil. They also loved having my dog and hamster. I cannot recommend this house highly enough."
