"This cottage is on a working farm, with the owners living next door. They are so friendly and welcoming, and allowed the children to help with bottle feeding the lambs and calves, which they absolutely loved! The resident dog, Bisto was always awaiting our return from days out with a wagging tail and a furry tummy waiting to be tickled! The cottage itself is clean and adequate for 6 people with two double rooms and a spacious twin. Points for improvement: bed in front room could do with a new mattress- was not the comfiest, could feel the springs. A hoover would be good, and an airer or tumble dryer to dry clothes (although we were quite lucky with the sunshine and we were allowed to use the owners washing line on request!) The shower only ever got luke warm and was not very powerful (although the water from the taps was VERY hot!) The wardrobe in the twin room was locked with no key.The positives: the location is great for getting to Aberystwyth and Cardigan and everywhere in between for day trips. There are some fantastic beaches and places to go nearby. The owners (and animals) are lovely and great with kids.Kitchen is full of everything you need, and lounge is comfortable. WiFi was a welcome addition for the kids! Overall a lovely last minute break with family, creating lots of memories - we would return and recommend!"

"All the family enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break at Arosfa Emlyn. The house was beautifully decorated and there was a large Christmas tree in the main family room which was lovely. We were a party of 10 adults and most of the bedrooms are very specious with en suite facilities. As the parents of the group, we found the separate lounge adjoining our bedroom on the ground floor to be ideal for a little peace and quiet now and again. However, if adult couples are sharing this accommodation, it is not mentioned in the description that Bedroom 5 is accessed through Bedroom 4 and occupants of both rooms share one bathroom facility. This arrangement for Bed 4 and 5 would be ideal for a family though. The indoor hot tub was used a lot and was wonderful after walking through the hills in the chilly wind and rain. The Games Room has a football table and some board games but it was disappointing that there was a dartboard and no darts! We tried several shops whilst we were out and about but were not able to purchase any. The main lounge is however too small and cannot accommodate 10 seated to watch a film together. The kitchen units are "tired" and equipment is minimal and very basic. I was so glad I had taken equipment from home in order to cater for Christmas dinner for 10 adults."

"This house was beautifully equipped, airy and clean. The bed was very comfortable. A very nice welcome pack on arrival, above and beyond anything I have ever experienced before. Loved the area, but missed the coast as we usually like to walk our dog on the beach and we had to travel quite a distance to get to Tenby or Cardigan Bay, (Although we were aware of the distance when booking). At the time of our stay there were lots of road works and hedge cutting going on, which added time to any journey. We loved the Brecon Beacons. The only downfall was the garden, which is not mentioned at all in the details of this lovely house. Fortunately having read the reviews, I knew the garden was detached from the property and there were steep steps, but I was still disappointed as the garden was not very welcoming. Uncomfortable picnic table/bench, the sort you get in pub gardens. It could be so much better with a bit of TLC as the views over the village and countryside were pretty and it was very private. Don't let this put you off as the house more than makes up for the lack of a pretty garden"

"There was plenty of room for all of us and it was generally clean, although there wasn't enough kitchen cleaner for cleaning the surfaces. There was plenty of space. We were asked to put the compostable waste in the green bin - which wasn't there. As we were leaving we saw that it was on the verge - obviously it had been put out for the recyclers but we hadn't seen it before. We did as we asked re: all the other rubbish - they had bins for general and glass etc. I left notes if there was something amiss - for example, one of the bulbs had gone in the room we were in. I don't suppose they know these things unless someone tells them. They were niggles really, although we would have liked a bbq - didn't appear to be gas so we didn't bother. The worst think was the fire alarm going off in the early hours each morning. It seemed to be triggered by someone else's bonfire - a very delicate fire alarm. However, it's a beautiful part of the world and for a large family gathering it was ideal."

"We had an amazing holiday here. The cottage itself had everything we needed, plus lots of extra touches that made it feel like home! Kay & Mike we’re wonderful hosts, helping us to plan our days out & providing suggestions. Nothing was too much trouble! The welcome tray of milk, bread & Welsh cakes & butter was a great treat! The setting of the cottage has heavenly! The resident chicken & cats were a hit with our little girl. The woodland is just lovely, so relaxing! There are no shops/pubs within walking distance but just a short drive away & tbe only surprise to us was that more local pubs didn’t cook mid week! However the cottage is so well setup that cooking in the evenings was a delight! Local beaches (especially Poppit sands) are just heavenly! But Kay & Mike are always happy to provide suggestions if needed. We were all very sad to leave and return to the real world! I can’t recommend this beautiful little place enough."
