"A lovely place run by lovely people. The accommodation is all on one level above a tearoom, with just a hedge separating the canal that runs along side. The balcony gives lovely views across the fields and canal and there are so many different birds, including Tawny owls. A ten minute walk along the towpath under the little bridge will bring you to the Navigation pub, or walk another twenty five or so to the Queens Head (ten minutes by car). We ate three times at the Queens Head and the food was very excellent. They serve food 12pm-9pm pretty much every day, so ideal for families like us who aren't great at organising our day.The Navigation pub isn't open an often, but I popped in for a pint on a couple of evenings and found it a friendly place, with many people commenting on how good the food was. Oswestry is close by with about four supermarkets. The Morrisons also has a petrol station.S82994 is run by Iain and Fiona, who are both lovely and real grafters. The coffee, cake, scones etc. were all excellent and all the food was home made I believe. We were able to use one of their canoes for a day which was great fun.We had a great time and hope to be back."

"The lodge was immaculate and well equipped, althought as a keen cook some good knives and a proper chopping board would've been nice. The kitchen is so spacious a dishwasher could also easily be accommodated. Nit picking aside, the lodge itself was great - clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and cosy. The children also liked our neighbours, the sheep and lambs. The location was good, with great views over the valley below, and the outside areas would be lovely in the summer for a BBQ and drink. The only downside was the last few hundred metres of road were unsurfaced, which in a car with relatively low suspension was a bit hairy. In heavy rain or snow access would've been difficult for my car. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the summer. It's also worth mentioning the owners were very friendly and accommodating."

"We absolutely loved going to S2624 as our holiday. It had all essentials, and even though it was out in the middle of no-where necessities were close by (supermarket). Upon arrival we thought we had got the wrong place, as it was tremendous in size and so quiet. Everything was explained/shown to us in a guided tour when we first got there, and a folder was provided with welcomes, local information and a bit of history about the property. It was almost like home from home, you felt very welcome. We could not believe our luck, and remained saying so throughout the holiday. When the last day arrived we were sad to be leaving as we had got so accustomed to the friendliness. We loved our whole holiday and cannot wait to return next year!"

"The holiday cottage was lovely with wooden worktops and all the kitchen equipment you need was helpful! Couple of issues were the fact that the “hot tub” isn’t a hot tub, it’s a lazy spa. Though the addition of a lazy spa was lovely in the evenings the whole reason we booked this cottage was because of the hot tub so we’re a little disappointed. Also the disconnected aga which we couldn’t use just smelt of oil all the time. Other than that the cottage was lovely and well presented. Comfy beds with soft pillows (even if they were a little too thin for my personal liking). Location was lovely but very remote and if your not a confident driver then this is not the cottage for you!"

"We had a lovely break at the cottage over the bank holiday weekend. The cottage is in a beautiful spot standing on its own away from the farm house. It was really cosy inside especially with the log burning fire. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and beautifully furnished. There were plenty of towels and toiletries available in the bathroom and the downstairs shower room was very handy. Irene and Melvyn were lovely hosts and always on hand if we needed anything or in advising us where to visit to make the most of our all too brief stay. This really was a great location for a retreat yet a handy base to tour the local area and attractions. We will definitely return in the near future."
