Reisezwerge - verified booking

"There are no local facilities within walking distance and so this closure was a disappointment, to say the least. We were also assured that the cottage would be cleaned and restocked in the middle of our 2 week stay. There was very limited servicing and we were left short of logs etc. for the fire. For example, the carpets in the bedrooms had not been vacuumed. The level of cleanliness in the kitchen was also questionable, and we spent time cleaning the utensils before we were comfortable using them at the start of our stay. Having said that, this was our second stay at the cottage, which is charming, beautifully positioned and delightful."

"The Sykes Cottages representative I spoke to couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The cottage itself is lovely, quaint, cosy and comfortable, situated in an area rich in history and surrounded by wonderful scenery. The cottage is extremely well equipped and once the log burner is going it is very toasty indeed. On arrival I was greeted by the caretaker who had brought some basic provisions and a posy of fresh flowers, which I thought was really thoughtful. Admittedly I have been ..."

"S50352 really is a cosy cottage, very homely. We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly locals in Ye Olde Bull pub, the newspaper shop at Tal-y-Bont and the wonderful butchers. The later also supplies among other things fresh veg and bread, very useful. The 19 bus to Conwy or Betws is very scenic and the fares are reasonable. Good walks from the door and nearby."

"A couple of unexpected bonus points were the local butchers, best steaks we have ever had and the rest of the meat and veg and the local pub. The nearest one was shut but with another around 3/4 of a mile away this was perfect to walk off the great food and beer. A lovely bolt hole for exploring the Noth of Wales and Snowdonia."
