"The house was a real delight with lots of space for a large family – it had the most incredible views of the beach which was a 2 minute drive to – we didn’t walk down to the beach as we had children with small legs who wouldn’t have walked back up the steep hill. It was our first time in this part of Wales but it won’t be our last – the coastline is a dream with beautiful beaches every few miles. Pendine is long and sandy with little coves. 10 mins up the coast we came across the beach at Wisemans Bridge which we particularly loved and then further round the coast the beaches at Tenby are a must to visit being so picturesque. We holidayed with our 2x grandchildren only as the rest of the family had to stay home due to the imminent birth of a child and we had to leave after 4 nights as baby was born! The house was spacious for us all and the girls made one of the rooms into a play room. The bedrooms were good sizes and the beds were comfy and the pillows too and the showers were strong and refreshing. The fixtures and fittings were beautiful and I loved the ethnic ornaments. There was plenty of plates, cutlery, even a dolce gusto coffee machine. I would recommend any large supermarket delivery as surprisingly there is no welcome pack on arrival so if you don’t get a delivery you won’t get a cup of tea or coffee until you shop and after a 6 hour journey we definitely wanted a drink. There was no salt and pepper – a few basics would have been nice? Plus local stores were expensive e.g. wine was double the price of a supermarket and bread up to double the price – I’m all for supporting local communities and shops but our budget was tight. Little drawbacks: No curtains in any of the bedrooms so once the sun comes up you are awake which is not what you want on holiday especially with children who are up then too. The large rug in the lounge area had food debris. The double bedroom (downstairs) shower room had signs of mould and certainly was smelly. The bedroom carpets have seen better days with staining. The hot tub was lovely. The utility was useful. We would recommend the Blue Lagoon swimming complex but plan the journey as we got lost and your booking is only for a few hours. The big screen was wonderful but complex to use – took us a few days to work it out. Unfortunately the boat trips to Caldey Island were not running until next week. Would we recommend to family and friends – yes! Will we be back – yes! • HOWEVER PLEASE GET SOME CURTAINS OR BLACKOUT BLINDS."

"10 of us have just returned from a week here. It is an amazing house in a spectacular setting, within (steep) walking distance of a lovely beach. The house is very large with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, and was generally spacious. The kitchen and dining room however, are small compared to the other rooms, and the dining table can't really seat 10 (there are only 8 chairs). The design of the house means that access to the garden is either through the bedrooms, which are on the ground floor, or via the front door with a walk around the side. Not very practical with a hot tub on the patio, and not really practical to eat outside as it's so far from the kitchen. That said the hot tub was a fun addition, although it needs some repairs as one of the cushions is missing and one of the jets fell out completely. Another design idiosyncrasy, is that 2 of the bedrooms have no windows, they just have french doors. We didn't notice this until we wanted to open a window at night! It took a little while to figure out the TVs and the projector, and we had an IT whizz in our party. The cinema screen was great! We had the same problem as a previous reviewer with the washing machine. A wash went on for 4 hours until we stopped it and it wouldn't dry at all. I'm really disappointed to now read that we weren't the first ones to report it. It basically needs replacing. We managed but had I been there with very young children I'd have been furious to have paid so much (£2000) and not have a working washing machine and dryer. Additionally, the fridge, which was stupidly small for a 5 bed-roomed house, had a shelf missing when we got there, and then a door shelf broke. Spilling a 4 pint bottle of milk all over the floor. The dishwasher cutlery basket was broken causing cutlery to fall through and jam the jets, and it never got everything clean, no matter what wash we tried. We reported everything to the lovely caretakers, but the owner has to give them permission for things to be repaired or replaced and that doesn't seem to be happening. Pendine is spectacular but if you don't want the beach you'll have to travel to do much else."

"We hired this home for a week and what a find. Stunning views that you can not tire of. Somewhat breathtaking! The house sleeps 10 with 5 bedrooms. All rooms bar one have en suite facilities (the one without has a loo right next door!). Large spacious living area on first floor (an upside down house!) with great seating area and additional sofas facing a large TV and projector. Still, why watch TV when you have that view? Also has the added bonus of a hot tub which we used twice despite the horrendous (normal?) weather we experienced. The owners keep it hot all year round so we could jump right in. We found the home comfortable. Beautiful fixtures and fittings this place is done out to a high standard. Beds were comfy and bathrooms beautifully fitted. Only slight criticisms were around the standard and variety of kitchen utensils (little worn and few items missing that were key to a self catering holiday). However, so very minor in the scale of things. We used Pendine as a Base to explore as the place itself is not hugely appealing (apart from the beach). We had a 10 month baby in our party and thr owners provided a travel cot and highchair. Overall, great place and despite weather, would love to visit again."

"The owner's adjacent home looks rundown and the outside area around the house was unappealing. However, inside S78431 was perfectly comfortable. It was clean enough, although we had to scrub the oven before we could use it to remove layers of cooking fat. There were a lot of flies too inside which wasn't pleasant but a hazard of being in a farming region. The only other bug bear were the external lights on the two cottages which were on sensors and flicked on and off during the night. Sleeping in the front downstairs bedroom meant that the lights flashed on and off throughout the night. Owner Ray was perfectly pleasant but it was difficult to access him at times because he has broken his hip. However, he was kind enough to arrange a kettle replacement straight after we requested one as the one in the house was clogged with limescale. We enjoyed our stay nonetheless. We had a really nice time owners were very helpful and met any needs as my mum came with us and is disabled the equipment was very good so she got to enjoy her hollidayHowever, would suggest perhaps a TV in the disabled room as they usually need to spend more time in bed."
