"This cottage is situated 4 miles from Bridge end, down a country lane. It is as described a short walk from a pub and Supermarket, which is correct we did visit the supermarket but it was a run down place on a run down council estate and a local pub which we did not go into. the cottage it self is quite big, a on arriving I took a quick walk down stairs which looked okay and then went upstairs, the furniture is quite old but nice and suits the cottage. The bathroom is large with a nice bath but what struck me was the Dust which was gathered on top of the shower head, I wasn't impressed so went on my Cleaning Inspection. the top of the cabinet in the bathroom was thick with dust, as well as Shelves in the bedrooms, I didn't think the mattresses where very good they looked worn but I did sleep okay in them. Downstairs was pretty much the same, clean where you could see but on top of furniture was disgusting so was behind settee and wall and ceiling lights. The kitchen just got worse with dust and dirt, Old coffee in the machine, cooker and Microwave filthy and inside cupboards. Toaster had crumbs on the top of it from previous users and wire grills from Cooker in cupboard covered in grease cleaning was simply not good. you had a long thin lounge with a TV with WIFI which you could not connect to, and a 3 seater settee, leather Low back, leather worn off in places and so uncomfortable myself 55 wife 47 mum 78 all complaining. yet in the bigger room 2 lovely 2 seaters a tv connected to a playstation but no tv channels. We were only there for a 3 nights otherwise I would have been on the phone demanding 2 cleaners in for a day to clean the place or be moved to another cottage. I instead complained with photos as proof and received £100 back. Think this cottage also has some sort of damp problem as it was musky in some rooms, This cottage needs a full deep clean, New Microwave, New Mattreses, WIFI sorting, New settee in tv Lounge, and tv in other room connecting to Sky. I holiday most years in cottages and yes you can always find something to moan about if you have to but this is the first time I have ever had a good reason to complain"

"We had a lovely holiday at S19539; exploring Dartmoor, visiting Buckfast, Kents Cavern and fossil hunting at Daddy Cove. The marble museum was a really pleasant treat as we got to see glassblowing and the fantastic marble runs. The house itself was spacious and comfortable and worked well for our group of eight. What was less good was the heating. We were the first people in for the season and the house was bitterly cold on arrival, during a string of freezing days and snow. It took 3 days with the heating running full time to get the house up to a comfortable temperature. Once it was warmed up it was really pleasant. The heating is electric and runs from a coin meter, so heating the house up from cold was particularly expensive. The rental price for the property itself was fine, but the added cost of the electricity was hefty - about £50 for the week.Generally the decor is getting a little shabby and could probably do with a fresh coat of paint in most rooms, but the feel was "comfortably used" rather than "neglected". The kitchen was serviceable, but some items were missing (reported to the owner), like sharp kitchen knifes.Overall we loved our stay here - it was comfortable and a great base for exploring the area. We would definitely consider coming again."

"We had a fantastic time here. It really is a gorgeous place. We were 8 adults and 5 children. Perfect for hide and seek...making big group meals (and sitting down to them together), having a bbq, jaunts into town or countryside...etc. Some can chill in the lounge while others play pool, or play in the pool!!! The pool was a HUGE bonus. Loved it. Warm, clean, so much fun. Beautifully planted around the outside. Good security to prevent accidents. The only downside are the two bedrooms in the part with the pool table. The whole section of house is great - pool table and seating area etc. The upstairs room is beautiful but if a couple wanted to stay there, there are only twin beds and....you'd need to be comfortable enough to want to use the loo in front of each other!! (Well, behind a screen). The downstairs room is a very generous size but it feels a little bit odd with two outside doors. Also a faint whiff of manure crept in a couple of times (a reminder you are in the country next to an active farm)!Overall we really loved it. Would definitely go back again. Thanks!"

"Wonderful spacious accommodation for our family pre-Christmas get together. It was mild weather the week we stayed and the central heating was so efficient we didn't get a chance to try the woodburning fires. We loved the snooker table inside the property. Table tennis was available but was situated in an outbuilding so, as it was damp, we didn't play. Huge bedrooms, excellent cooking facilities and plenty of sofa space. Couple of negatives were the wetroom plumbing...prepare to be flooded...in all fairness, the owner did point this issue out to us but it does need resolving. Secondly, the smaller sofa by the TV in the main living area needs replacing. Lovely rural pub a mile away, by the river. Tewkesbury is very pretty, is 5 mins away with Aldi and Morrisons. We visited the Christmas craft fair and market....delicious farmers sausages, especially the lamb and mint. Excellent location for the Gloucester Docks, Worcester.. great Cathedral... Croome Park NT. Lots of fabulous walks from property. Would recommend x"

"Space and set up of the house was very good. As a barn conversion the walls and ceilings were particularly thin and noise transmitted a lot through the house. The house was not very clean and in our opinion needed a good clean. we knew we had a shared swimming pool with the owner but were disappointed one day when the owner asked to reserve the pool solely for him and his family, as it was the hottest day of the year and we had 5 children with us, we phoned the letting agent and he retracted his request, we made it very clear we didn't mind sharing with him as per the terms of the agreement. On our arrival the owner apologized for the bad smell in one of the bedrooms and bathroom, this didn't get any better as the week went on so we complained, he then got a drainage expert to check out the drains but it made no difference, we lived with a not very nice drainage smell in one of the bedrooms for the whole week."
