"Issues with Owl cottage that we found unacceptable. The drain outlet from the kitchen was blocked (outside) with rotting leaves and general detritus – must have been like it for some time – cleared it ourselves. The drain outlet for the downstairs shower room was blocked (shower, basin and washing machine unusable – flooded back into shower tray) – we tried to clear blockage but finally had to contact the property manager (Sunday pm). Plumber came out Tuesday morning and cleared a substantial amount of material from the drain – mostly rotting vegetation – again must have been like it for some time. The kitchen sink tap had an extremely low flow – several minutes just to fill washing bowl. The tap outlet filter was partially blocked which we removed – property manager informed. There was, on arrival, an extremely high level of flies throughout the house – best guess 100. We do not like to use insecticides in the presence of children, so it took a while to swat the flies – on-going for 3 days. Property manager informed but had no satisfactory answer – there may well be a health hazard in the property however there was no smell of dead rodent or other rotting animal. The downstairs shower room had a clear issue with damp – flaking paint/mould etc. Both bedside lamp bulbs in the 3rd bedroom had blown – this was reported in the breakages book way back in May 2018 – bought new bulbs and fitted.Patio set chair broken (back rest) (bbq Saturday evening) – could have caused an issue – again reported in breakages book in July 2018Further comments only,The rear exterior of the property especially between fence and kitchen is very shabby and untidy – broken fence panel left lent against the wall. The parking area was over hung by an apple tree and windfall apple laying on the ground rotting attracting an enormous amount of wasps – we had to be very careful when loading and unloading the car.One light on cooker hood not functioning – not replaced. This definitely detracted from our stay in Norfolk and even though we have stayed in many cottages throughout England I can safely say this is the worst experience so far. This has therefore prompted my first ever complaint. We like to stay in older premises with character and understand some of the more quirkier issues with these properties however there should be a level of maintenance that ensures the basic amenities are up to standard."

"As soon as we walked in to S17255 we were amazed by how spacious and homely it felt. The living room is huge and has a large open fire. The kitchen is well equipped with a range cooker, large fridge and a freezer with a microwave as well. There is a large dining room with a table that seats 10; this room also has a working open fire. The downstairs bathroom has a shower and a washing machine. There is a lovely conservatory that looks out into a large garden. Through the doors it leads to the annexe which has a twin room and en-suite bathroom with a very good shower. Upstairs there is a very large family bathroom and one en-suite bedroom and two other good sized bedrooms one had a double and a single bed and the other was a twin room. We went for Christmas so it was cold but there was a heater that gave out a lot of heat. We took two young children as well as a baby with us and the fact that there was so much room was really good for when someone wanted time out in a quiet space! It is an amazing place to stay with a group of family or friends."

"A good location on the edge of the marina. A really nice house great for 6 people to share. The only drawback was when the factory next door was using some fibre glass glue or similar, the fumes were not pleasant when outside in the front area. We recommend the Thai restaurant in town as the best place for dinner. We were lucky enough to have a boat with the property but it was rather noisy and when we were going further on the broads we chose to hire an electric boat as we couldn't enjoy the trip with such a noise. Soundproofing the engine would help. The provisions in the apartment are good but could definitely use more mugs as then its possible to make use of the dishwasher more often. Salt and Pepper as a little addition would be useful. Also could not see any details about the property. For example had to search to see if there was a hairdryer and eventually found one in the top bedroom. Also no instructions about rubbish or recycling disposal.Beds very comfortable although the single ones are quite small for adults."

"Excellent location, fishing excellent, garden secure and lots of chairs and parasols.Safe and sound for a couple of dogs, no escape routes all fenced off well. Parking spot on, and secure too.Owners are near enough if needed, but left us well to ourselves.Nearest tackle shop is Potterheigham (12 miles) - sells everything needed from bait to tackle boxes and bivviesBream to 5lb, pike to 10lb, roach up to a 1lb and perch up to 1.5lbGot a bit plagued by mosquitos, but that's common with the weather and being so near so much water.Decking for fishing sound, water in front drops up to 3 feet when tide turns min depth was around 5 feet in the edge, Decent feeder holds middle and perfect for running stick through or fishing long pole, or just the top three'sElectric runs of a meter, so need a few £1 coins.Shower not too bad, and kitchen and oven soundwould definitely go again (and have booked already)"

"Fabulous S80144, very roomy, we had 4 dogs and there was space for more! Fully enclosed garden so no worries there. Large utility room and front boot room too. Had to get in the car for dog walks but never had to drive far because the lovely beaches and woodlands were all nearby. Only a few mins drive from Mundesley too which had everything you needed. Owners next door, friendly but not intrusive. Provided everything we needed for the week. Bathroom needs a new blind as it had gone mouldy, and there were quite a few cobwebs been missed by the cleaners, but really small negatives in what was a lovely week's stay. Great location. Have already recommended the property to other people."
