"We have had a lovely break here at S20631. We wanted a relaxing break, with our two dogs, centrally positioned for walking the coastal paths, visiting St Ives and Padstow and all the bays in between and that is exactly what we got.The accommodation is comfortable, it had everything we needed. It was clean and nicely presented but not pristine and fussy so you worry all the time about putting a cup down without a coaster. The flooring is laminate and tile so there is no carpet for dog paws to ruin. The Old Airefield that surrounds the accommodation is quiet for walking dogs but you do have to keep them on the lead as it is farm land with old disused barns and hangers. There is no enclosed garden or safe place to let them off - Unless they are really well behaved and walk at your heel and don't chase rabbits (like mine do). So pack your extending leads and a torch for those late night/ early morning toileting walks. The owners came and said hello when we arrived and told us how to reach them if we needed to but left us alone to enjoy our break which was perfect. It's a really good location if you want to explore the area by car. You do have distant sea view and there are plenty of bays to visit. Our favourites were: Watergate Bay (by Jamie Olivers fifteen restaurant) and Carbis Bay St Ives. Visit Bedruthan Steps and esp the tea rooms there as they do a lovely cream tea! We also went to Bodmin, Cardingham Woods and visited Woods Cafe also gorgeous. Padstow itself is lovely. To sum it up: it is a perfect location for touring, nice and peaceful, owners lovely and not overbearing, accommodation comfy. We would definitely come back! It is reasonably priced and great value, what is not to like??!!The Cornish Arms nearby is a nice cosy local and dogs are welcome.Pack towels, extending leads, torch and plenty of £1 coins for parking at the bays. Hope you have a great time!"

"As the cottage is located in a small cul-de-sac, it feels private and quiet and there is parking for two cars. The cottage is only a couple of years old, so is very modern, with the rooms being of a good size and very light. The kitchen has everything you could need including separate fridge and freezer and dishwasher. The bathroom has a good double shower (over bath) and the enclosed garden has a gas barbecue and garden furniture on the decking for warmer days. We found milk, biscuits, tea bags, coffee and sugar waiting for us, which was really helpful. There is a village pub, only a couple of minutes walk away, along with a small shop (open every day), butchers and chip shop (Tuesday to Sunday Evenings) and where is a good feel to the village and the people seem friendly. We took our collie, but we could only find one grass area, to walk him in the village, as there is a small children's playing area in a side street only about a five minute walk from the cottage (this was useful early morning and late evenings). But we were able to take our dog on Par Beach (you need to pay for parking) and there is a wetlands park (with duck pond and grass area), within 10 minutes drive. The location of S40061 is really good if you wish to visit Fowey, Mevagissey, Charlestown Bodmin or the eden project as they are all within 40 minutes drive away. There are large supermarkets in Bodmin and St Austell, if you need them. We only had one issue, during our stay - as we found that the wifi never had enough signal and the TV would go funny at times, so we missed parts of TV programmes. But on the plus side, we had no problems using our mobile phones, while we were in the cottage and this is normally an issue in Cornwall."

"Bit of a difficult one to rate as the cottage was lovely and spacious, loved the shower, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Unfortunately when we arrived in the cottage the first thing that struck us was the smell... it was like urine.. not very nice. It did fade over the days we were there, but there was a damp smell throughout the whole time and the cottage wasn't particularly clean either. I really don't mind if a place is well lived in, especially as there are obviously lots of people (and dogs) staying there, but it just felt a bit 'dirty'. I hoovered up before we left, as we had 2 dogs who had been on the beaches every day and it was rather sandy, and even the hoover bag was full to bursting point! That should have been emptied well before we arrived, as I'm assuming it was cleaned before we got there."

"The S84590 is a wonderful home from home, with everything you could possibly need for a family holiday provided. The goody basket was a lovely treat, from which we made delicious cream teas. Caron took the trouble to pop in on her way home from work to see if we had everything we needed. The beds were so comfy and cosy, we all slept really well. The little garden was bathed in sunshine all day long and the heating made the cottage nice and cosy in the mornings and evening when the autumn chill set in. We really cannot fault this property and would highly recommend it for a nice, cosy, comfy stay in Cornwall! Thank you Caron."

"Lovely cottage, clean, comfortable, a real home from home and in a secluded and quiet location, but still close to Perranporth. A great location if you have kids or dogs, there's a large field for them to play, with a number of outdoor games provided to keep the kids entertained. Gail & Simon were very welcoming and greeted us on arrival and the welcome hamper is a lovely touch. It is clear that Gail & Simon have put a lot of thought, time & effort into ensuring you have a great holiday at Caerkief Cottages. We would definitely recommend Babes Cottage."
