"This cottage was perfect for our family "get together". The children had plenty of room to play inside without disturbing the adults too much and the farm animals were a great delight to the younger children. The design of the cottage is excellent but there needs to be a bit of a review by the owner of some of the equipment which is, in some cases, well worn. The location, while quite remote, was perfect for our needs and places such as Blackpool and Marton Mere Wetlands were within easy travelling distance. It is worth noting that the pub may well be within 1 mile as the crow flies across the fields but it would take "all day" to walk there along some narrow lanes. The photographs on the website must have been taken when the cottage was built around 10 years ago and don't really do the cottage justice. The front, en-suite bedroom is just lovely and there is now a large porch on the front. Also the photographs do not show the kitchen/dining room or lounge at their best. We had a great time there and would at some point return. Please note that all major cooking is done on a Rayburn range cooker which also is the heating supply and takes a bit of getting used to but wasn't too daunting (there is a microwave). All in all a great holiday cottage."

"We booked the cottage in order to use it as a base to visit family in the area. The location is fantastic, you're isolated in the beautiful ribble valley countryside with some great walks and scenery. But there are a couple of pubs within 2 miles and lots of cafés and eateries within 5 miles. You also are close to the M6 so exploring the wider area is easy to as well as being close to Blackburn and Preston if you need any shopping etc.The cottage is very comfortable and spacious with more than enough room for my family of 5 plus dog. The only points I would make is that it would benefit from having a dishwasher and also a more enclosed area in the garden to add more security for dogs and young kids. That said these points are minor and don't detract from our overall experience at all.We loved it and will definitely be back,"

"We were impressed with the cottage and with the owner, who is simply lovely. The cottage is set in a rural countryside location, with hens, cows, pigs etc sharing the immediate vicinity. By day 3 we had got used to the mad all-day cockerel! We would just like to point out some inaccuracies in the advert; "horse riding nearby" seems to be more dressage, if you want hacking then it is the bring-your-own-horse variety, "fishing" I am not sure where that refers to, "pub within a mile" is a 40 minute hike (each way) across the muddy fields or a 3.5 mile round drive and "open fire" would benefit from some wood (available at the shop by the filling station). But overall we had a great stay, and a big THANK YOU to the owner."

"Beautiful, peaceful location with fantastic views over Lancaster and Morecambe Bay to the Lake District and beyond. The sunsets are wonderful- weather permitting- and we just love coming here to unwind and switch off completely. The owner is very welcoming and the cottage is very dog friendly. There are plenty of places to visit in the area, from Morecambe to the South Lakes and, of a course, the Forest of Bowland, but visitors do have to be prepared for a bit of a drive to the nearest shop or pub! The cottage is well-equipped for a small cottage and just lacks one or two extras that would have made it a 10 for us (e.g. a dishwasher and upstairs bathroom!). Very highly recommended"

"S39300 cottage is a very charming and romantic place to stay, just ideal for a busy couple like us. We really enjoyed all week there, Great location. We were explore the Lake District National Park which is approx an hour to drive. The hot tude is fantastic and giving feel yourself in a luxuri relaxable holyday what deserves ;) Much better equipped than I expected. The "own" hens at the side are great idea from the owners, so you can have a very fresh egg for your breakfast. Dave and Kath very hospitable owners! My and my partner are very satisfied by them and wish them a lot more happy guest and looking forward to go back S39300 cottage again! Thank you!"
