"S24922 is an interesting house with good space. The heating was good which was important as the weather wasn't great during our stay. However it did have an air of being 'unloved' and was rather grubby in places. eg The carpets downstairs hadn't been cleaned for a long time. There was a good selection of toys for younger children but the lounge was a bit hazardous for the young baby we had with us. The corners of the marble fireplace were a bit tricky and the nest of tables tipped over easily. The kitchen was spacious and we used this for all meals. Good supply of crockery and cutlery but utensils were a bit old and inadequate. There was no welcome pack which is unusual. Never stayed anywhere before that didn't have this. There was no radio in the kitchen which was a shame. We did attempt to contact the keyholder with regard to 2 maintenance issues but without success. The front door lock was problematic - possible affected by the damp weather. There also seemed to be a drainage problem in the bath - water very slow to run away when using the shower."

"It was a very windy wet weekend so the heating was on for the duration but this didn’t stop the wind howling down the many chimneys, rattling the glazing and even raising the bedroom carpets! Nevertheless I would return in a heartbeat. Value for money excellent and a stones throw from an excellent local - food for meals taken home with us as we ate at the Hest Bank Inn both nights. Happy Mount Park less than 10mins drive and sheltered from the wind rather than the prom. Would love to go in better weather and explore more. Games, children’s toys and selection ofDVDs all appreciated.Highly recommend.Chimneys could do with capping off rather than boarding over the fire places. But lots of lovely throws and blankets and adequate heating to keep warm. The new road from the M6 bipassing Lancaster makes it really accessible. Thanks and we will be back."

"I recently stayed at S79218 over the bank holiday weekend with friends and their children. The cottage is absolutely stunning inside and out. It was clear the owners have put a lot of thought and effort into the cottage and everything you would need was provided (condiments, board games, etc). The personal gifts that were provided for the two children (pepper pig lunch box and an infant toy) with personalised messages to them was just so lovely and a nice surprise. The adults very much enjoyed the wine and local food (bacon and sausages) as well! I have recommended the cottage to everyone! I will most definitely be returning again in the future. The phone signal was not great however the owners were very accommodating and helpful in sorting the WIFI for our stay. We could not ask for more. Great stay for families and friends."

"Location was very good but spoilt by poorly equipped cottage. Everything supplied felt like the cheapest you could get.Cottage was not very clean when we arrived. We found some 'Pills' on the floor in the bedroom -no idea what they were! Kitchen blind fell out of ceiling when we tried to close it!!!!Kitchen equipment was limited and not clean. Saucepans had burnt food all over the inside of pans, as did the frying pan, the plates/bowls mostly chipped -need to be replaced. We were not prepared to use them - unhygienic to say the least.Opened wardrobe in bedroom and the wardrobe almost on top of me !!Best local food at 'The Old Stone Trough' Good quality, good price, very friendly, and also dog friendly."

"The Old Chapel We recently spent a week in the old chapel with four of our friends. Everything was just first class from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, who could not have been more helpful, not only in showing us around the property but also in giving us helpful informa!on about the town and surrounding area. The property itself is so comfortable and no expense has been spared in its renova!on. With a well equipped kitchen, spacious lounge area and comfortable beds, what more could you want? There is ample of road parking for three vehicles at the front of the property and the enclosed area at the back has ample seating and a barbeque. We would highly recommend this property."
