"Can't fault the actual cottage as is well equipped and spacious. Bedrooms and en-suites are 1st class. Good comfortable beds, plenty of towels and nice clean bedding. There is a lack of information re use of shower in master bedroom (has remote control with lots of water spouts - we couldn't work out how to use it as has several other guests noted down in visitor book) No info on stove fire, cooker, washer/drier etc. There was plenty of coal and logs to use at a fair price putting money in honesty box. Our main complaint is the fact that the next door neighbour used our gate and garden several times to get to his back garden. never acknowledged us sitting in conservatory having breakfast or lunch. Our dog was going crazy with this man going through our garden. I have spoken to the owner and he says it's a "ladder system" where they can use it. NO PRIVACY THEN IF YOU WANT TO SIT OUT. The neighbour and 2 other men again used our gate/garden late one night taking something through to his home. Dog was going crazy but again no explanation or apologies from anyone. It was quite unnerving and an invasion of our privacy. Parking at cottage is a nightmare also. There's no parking as such but if you're lucky to get space you have to park right up against the wall as road is so narrow and lorries, tractors etc fly up and down the road. Everytime we went out in the car and came back, someone was usually parked where you had been. This was usually the neighbour right across from the cottage, who had a driveway!!! but still put their car in space we needed. Would definately say not neighbour friendly cottage. As said, can't fault the actual cottage as was lovely, but for us personally, we wouldn't go back again."

"Overall great place to stay. Lovely little blacksmiths terrace cottage, beautifully furnished inside and out, with most facilities well thought out and considered.Ninn left us with fresh milk and some Parkin cake which was a nice touch. She has lots of leaflets on places to go in the local vicinity so you don’t need to do to much homework before you arrive. The kitchen is small but fully equipped with a oven, microwave, sink and all the pans, crockery and utensils that you are likely to need. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a lovely waterfall shower which can be switched to a normal shower head if needed. The bedroom is above the living room and has a very comfortable bed and bedding. We opted for the bed to be made up as a double but it could be separated as two singles if preferred. The cottage is in central Clitheroe so within easy reach if everything in the town. The only negative is that parking is slightly difficult as you are relying on availability of parking in the street on a first come first served basis. We did park on the Majestic car park around the corner if there wasn’t a space in the road which was alright but a bit of a pain when we arrived and wanted to unload our luggage.Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would recommend it for couples wanting a weekend away."

"Wow! Where to start? Rothbury is a truly magical little town. Peaceful, scenic, serene and full of little interesting shops, bistros, pubs and restaurants. You're also a short drive from the Northumberland coast with its panaromic beaches and historic castles. Of course, a place like this is only really appreciated if you have the right accommodation. We were fortunate enough to be the first guests at S124698 and it's entirely fair to say that we were enchanted by this wonderful home. Furnished and decorated to an incredibly high standard by wonderful hosts Tom and Cas, S124698 could not be more perfect. Featuring a cosy living room, well stocked kitchen, two indulgent bathrooms and three luxurious bedrooms the cottage is a rare find. Being able to explore the Cragside Estate, Simonside Hills and Coquet Valley directly from the doorstep offers some great options for exploring and if the weather is less hospitable, the fast broadband connection will keep any younger visitors occupied. We've stayed in properties across the U.K. and I don't think we've ever found anywhere that comes close to this little gem. If you have a shortlist of options for a stay in this part of the world, please don't waste your time looking elsewhere. S124698 is really special and we can't wait to come back."

"We stayed here for 10 days as our relatives also live in Barnoldswick. We know the area as we were there last year for several weeks. The lounge was very comfortable for watching TV and reading. The kitchen, though small, was easy to use overall. The house has been changed so that the downstairs is open concept. The bedrooms were large and airy. The boiler was easy to use, and the owners left information on other info. we should know. We did get to use the table and chairs on the front patio a few times when the sun came out. There was street parking right outside the gate. It was very close to the downtown core which has restaurants, stores, etc. and the Square."

"We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and had a lovely relaxing time. The cottage was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. The garden was very small but had been made to look really pretty so as we had lovely weather we spent a lot of time sat out there in the sun. Although the property was near a busy street and 2 minute walk from a big supermarket it was actually lovely and quiet. The castle and the shops were within walking distance so once we had parked the car we didn't use it again all weekend. The owner is lovely, although we didn't meet her she left us friendly notes and even posted back my kindle charger that we had left behind."
