"We loved this beautiful farmhouse! We were a party of 5, including my 85 year old mum. The ground floor bedroom and en suite were perfect for her limited mobility. The rooms are spacious and perfectly furnished for up to 8 people (smallest room is a bunk, so probably best for children). The 2 double rooms have enormous beds and great en suites. The kitchen/diner is very spacious and light and has every facility. The sofas and chairs in the sitting room are very comfy. Everything was spotlessly clean! There is a lovely garden to the front, and several sitting out areas.Shopping can be done in Garstang about 3 miles away, and we found lots of places to eat out within a few miles. The location is very rural, in pretty Lancashire countryside. The road alongside the front garden is a B road, but can be quite busy at times, and there is a cattle farm across the way with the attendant farm vehicles coming and going sometimes, and 'rural' smells on the breeze. Altogether, we had a lovely week at S93056, and would definitely book again, if circumstances allowed."

"It was a very windy wet weekend so the heating was on for the duration but this didn’t stop the wind howling down the many chimneys, rattling the glazing and even raising the bedroom carpets! Nevertheless I would return in a heartbeat. Value for money excellent and a stones throw from an excellent local - food for meals taken home with us as we ate at the Hest Bank Inn both nights. Happy Mount Park less than 10mins drive and sheltered from the wind rather than the prom. Would love to go in better weather and explore more. Games, children’s toys and selection ofDVDs all appreciated.Highly recommend.Chimneys could do with capping off rather than boarding over the fire places. But lots of lovely throws and blankets and adequate heating to keep warm. The new road from the M6 bipassing Lancaster makes it really accessible. Thanks and we will be back."

"Property (converted barn ) unsuitable for purpose. Very cold, with evidence of residual damp. Inadequate heating (convectors) resulting in additional cost of £48.50, for 10 days! Dirty cutlery & crockery, congealed food & dead creatures. 4 missing light bulbs, only 1 replaced. Electric iron lead, taped in 2 places! No torch/candles for emergency. Cobwebs throughout + signs of damp on various walls, evidence of dampness on some artwork. Settee had collapsed springs in mid base, dirty cushions & broken zip. Bathroom unfit for purpose, too small. Towel heater caused burns, when washing, toilet seat split, causing injury to both. No kitchen soap. Used washcloth & stainless steel scouring balls. Marked reluctance for owner's team to accept any responsibility"

"This is a charming house in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with far reaching views. The house is warm with constant hot water and a supply of wood for the fire. It has every convenience, including a large patio and garden. We could not have expected a warmer welcome and we felt as if we were important guests. We would highly recommend this property and certainly, we hope to visit it again. This is an idyllic property for those, seeking a quiet break but without feeling isolated. There are many local areas of natural beauty near the property, as well as many charming villages, such as Kirkby Lonsdale. This is a very special place and we feel privileged to have been able to spend a holiday there."

"We had a great time at S93315 – it's greatest feature has to be the stunning views of the Pendle hills with no building interrupting, but we also found it nicely decorated and maintained, well equipped for our needs, and much more spacious than we had anticipated - there were two of us but the cottage would easily accommodate two couples as there are two upstairs bathrooms and three bedrooms. Families with small or quite bouncy children may need to know though that there are quite a lot of china and other ornaments in the rooms. Finding milk in the fridge and fresh flowers on the table was very much appreciated, as was being picked up from the station."
