What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Lairg To Rent.

"This is a first rate cottage in an outstanding location with excellent views from the property and garden. The owners have clearly thought their approach through and have provided a well equipped and comfortable environment in which to enjoy a holiday. There is information and handbooks provided on every piece of equipment in the house from the washing machine to the iron. The property is immaculately presented and, on arrival, you will discover a very generous welcome pack containing tea, sugar, milk and other items which ease you into your temporary occupancy. There is an excellent supply of books and games and you may need to resort to the bird reference books to discover which birds you are watching on the incredibly busy bird feeder outside the sitting room window. The safety of visitors has clearly been considered as you will discover if you look at the paperwork provided as part of the information inside the house. The owners are a very pleasant couple who live adjacent to the property and so are available for advice when needed, which they give willingly. Have stayed in many Scottish cottages over the years and this is up with the best. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and I would be very surprised if anyone was disappointed on arrival or during their stay."

"the cottage is in a lovely peaceful location, perfect for a complete getaway. Unfortunately there were a few issues that should be addressed, no instructions for the oven, kept switching off whilst cooking. We arrived late and there were no matches for the fire, no washing up liquid . When we went into the ground floor bedroom I was quite surprised to see that the black quilt set hadn't been ironed and the quilt inside was way too big for the cover making it very lumpy. The pillows were very flat and need replacing! The upstairs bed was the same but with being white, didn't show so much. What shocked me the most that we were asked to strip the bed before leaving! Never had to do that on holiday before! When we stripped the bed I was not happy to see that the quilt was stained and the mattress cover, right down to the mattress itself!! not nice to see when we had slept on it all week. This should definitely be checked. The plus side was that it is in a beautiful area for scenery and walking!"

"This was the loveliest cottage we have stayed in, so clean and cosy you felt as if it was your own home. The welcome tray was incredible and we really enjoyed the chocs and the jam! The weather could have been a little kinder to us but 'hey ho' that's Scotland and we were prepared for it. The birds on the hangers were a delight to see but we wondered why the feeders were removed one day. The weather forecast revealed all as it then blew a 'hooley' all the next day and the feeders would have ended up in the valley! Adrian and Rhona were very friendly and when the gas ran out it was sorted within a few minutes of them being told. All in all a delightful cottage to stay in. Thank you both for making us so welcome"

"Warm and comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for - even a tea cosy! Ideal for dog owners, with a utility space and shower as you walk in the door so you can get rid of mud before entering. Forest walks and bike trailsstart just along the road. WiFi was great, phones worked in the back bedroom. We voyaged out in all directions and visited the Castle of Mey, Inverewe Gardens etc and really liked Dornoch. Our only negative feedback would be that there was no view over the water as the trees screen it off and the proximity to the road makes it a wee bit noisy if you sit outside in the garden to drink your tea. All in all, we had a lovely time."

"Peace and tranquility was what we were after, and boy did we find it here. This is the perfect place for peace and quiet. The cottage was lovely and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Although the area and holiday cottages are mainly used for people fishing etc, we found that the walks and wildlife very appealing. The Gamekeeper and Housekeeper were always available if we needed anything and popped around to introduce themselves which was handy. We found having no WiFi a bit tricky but really didn’t miss it that much to be honest and the local hotel a few miles up the road has accessible WiFi. Will hope to return to this little haven soon."
