"A true hidden gem. We had the opportunity to meet the owners Catrin & Dan who are both lovely and understandably very proud of this quirky yet comfortable 300 year old cottage. This cottage won't be for everyone as there is no WiFi and the access to the cottage is currently restricted due to the main road closure. In truth myself, wife and two children embraced this and it ended up adding to the depth of our holiday. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short and we felt that we only scratched the surface when out exploring the local area so very likely to return in the future.Cottage was spotless, quirky but well furnished and comfortable, and well-appointed - everything you could wish for in a 'home-from home'. Other residents in the village were welcoming and helpful, and the owners were a lovely couple with lots of knowledge and passion about the area. Will definitely be making a return trip to this wonderful cottage by the sea!We had a super holiday at Crovie. Lovely cottage with fantastic walks, beaches and amazing scenery all along the coast. Kids loved beach combing and catching crabs, great family fun."

"We both like to cook and lack of space made it very difficult for two people to be in the kitchen at the same time. The bed was very comfortable, but the duvet was not big enough to cover two people, and at the end of October it was quite cold, it requires a king size duvet. Overall this is a nice cottage in a lovely location.Fantastic sunsets over a lovely bay. Will definitely returnPerhaps not everyone's taste but so quiet, tranquil and if we'd been any more relaxed, we'd have been horizontal. The view of the sea from our window kept us constantly in awe with the changes. Lovely little villages around. No noise bar the waves. Lovely Pennan Inn at end of street. Wonderful place to unwind and relax."

"However, we had asked Sykes for a place that would be easy to travel to from Stirling and we were told that the two towns are only 30 miles apart, when actually they were very far. So we had to take expensive taxis (difficult to travel by train as we had luggage and are over 60). Otherwise, it was a wonderful holiday. The owners were very friendly and had a welcome package with tea, biscuits and bread waiting for us and were always available for any help when necessary. There is a bus stop right outside the cottage which would take us to Banff and other nearby towns and villages and we had taken a week "megarider" that was less expensive than daily rides. All in all, a wonderful, quiet place."

"The cottage is wonderful. A home away from home. The art on the walls and every square inch of furniture keeps surprising you. People are friendly here, and the village is like a pocket of time where you can pretty much stay still and watch the changing light over the water all day and still feel like you have had a very eventful time. There is plenty to discover with Troup Head nearby and Gardenstown just a short walk away. Be prepared for steep climbs and hills. If you like art, colour, looking at and listening to the sound of the sea, and you don't mind climbing to reach your goal, this may be the very special place for you. We shall certainly return."

"Well, what an absolutely delightful cottage in a beautiful setting right on the sea front of this amazing rugged seashore. If you want to get away to a secluded cove to re-charge your batteries, then this is where you should go. The owner is always on the end of the phone should you need anything. The cottage is probably the nicest I have ever stopped in, with a lovely big cottage kitchen. The icing on the cake is the log burner in the lounge with fantastic views across the bay. If you what to experience the wild Scottish landscape from the comfort of one of the best cottages in a secluded location then this is perfect"
