"S50422 is well equipped and located. The house manager was incredibly helpful and provided a lovely personalised welcome pack. The kitchen is well equipped and the wifi and smart TV were great to have. The house in our opinion could do with some updating in terms of painting. The ceiling is very low in the kitchen, and the shower in the downstairs en-suite bathroom is quite small although works well. There are beams and sloping ceilings upstairs so tall people need to be aware of this!The conservatory is lovely and has a great wood burner – we echo another reviewer’s comments though that this would mean that the downstairs is all incredibly hot in hot weather. The property is well located in terms of being very close to the New Forest and near to the sea and lovely beaches. Nearby are a couple of small towns that have supermarkets and useful shops, and the most local pub (The Plough) serves good food. The road to the pub however is, in our opinion, not one we would walk down as it is a country lane with no lighting and little space to keep out of the road as cars pass. Easy drive to both pubs. The cottage is close to Lymington and Lyndhurst where it is very easy to get to these places.It must be stated however that, contrary to the website description, the property is neither detached nor secluded. Physically attached to the property are working stables and the house is not fully at the end of the lane as stated and the lane is used at all times of the day and into the very late evening by people tending to their horses. You can therefore hear the horses and any related activity from within the house at all hours (including overnight), and in particular this could be heard in the bedrooms. There is also another house within metres of this house also so it is not as secluded as we had hoped for.The garden is lovely although it does look out onto the lane with people driving past as mentioned above therefore it is not private. There are also other houses visible from the garden, and we could hear children / tractors / renovation noises etc. If you are early risers and don’t mind some neighbour noise and are not particularly concerned about people coming and going then this is a lovely location and house; but if, like us, you were specifically looking for a fully detached and secluded peaceful property with no near neighbours and a good level of privacy then we would not recommend this property."

"This was our 1st visit to S14211 having been recommended by our son & his family who visited August 2017. It had a lot to live up to compared to our previous venue that we had stayed at twice a year for the last 15 years & had recently closed down due to owners retirement. (We are former Island residents). The en-suite bedroom was ideal for our 39 yr old autistic son, especially having a TV, which saved us having to bring one for him! Generally there were no real issues except no mattress protector on the 5 ft (2nd bedroom bed). Also in that bedroom the wardrobe doors should be the other way round so that the mirrored door can be used without banging elbows on the adjacent wall & standing in the small gap between the robe & chest of drawers (there are no other mirrors in that room). The stair gate should be easily removable (negotiating it to carry suitcases /base up & down is a pain) & should be available as necessary). Oven & grill pan needs a good proper clean ( didn't use it - where was the grill pan handle?) Lower dishwasher basket/tray needs at least new wheels or replacing. Having made all these comments, we are returning for 2 weeks in September as we booked this at that the same time as our most recent visit - we did really ENJOY our stay at S14211 - comfortable beds & sofas, many extras like you have at home. plenty of spare linen/towels + the tea/coffee/milk & bottle of wine there on arrival + very friendly & helpful caretaker Danny set the tone for an enjoyable stay - thank you!"

"The photo above is not of 268 Gurnard Pines - probably another property on the site. Gurnard Pines is described as a Holiday village but many of the properties on site are residential and some are needing some care and attention. We were advised that there was parking for 2 cars immediately outside the property. There was space for 2 cars but not solely for the use of the occupants so the space was not always available. Whilst the property was very clean and most things were in very good condition the only seating in the lounge area was 2 sofa beds - not always easy to get up from. There was only one small wardrobe in the main bedroom - nowhere to hang clothes in the other two bedrooms - which just had a chest of drawers. We were fortunate to have good weather which was good as there was nowhere in the property to hang coats etc."

"We loved Damerham and the pub was fantastic and the food was delicious. We felt the staff went out of their way to help us especially as we have small children. The cottage was ok but unfortunately there had obviously been dogs staying in the downstairs room and to be honest there was a very doggy smell in the cottage and lots of dog hairs. It wasn’t a hugely significant issue but as we had paid north of £300 for a 3 night stay would have thought the rooms would have been cleaned adequately. There also wasn’t anywhere to put anything (hotels and guest houses NEVER have enough hooks and storage so perhaps unfair to highlight it with this place) On a more positive note the bedding and rest of the place was very nice and clean and as I have mentioned the staff were incredible. Would highly recommend to stay if you have a dog."

"Great base to get out and about - loved the floating bridge! Onsite swimming pool fantastic very clean and great showers. Cottage comfortable with great amenities. Only a couple of things to consider: cannot move shower down the rail so made it difficult to wash on ‘flower’ setting as water flowed to near edge of bath so had to use 3 jet function which was difficult as water not flowing over the whole of you and again too close to edge of bath. Secondly maybe to consider putting a mattress topper of double beds in main bedroom as you can feel the springs. Thank you for a lovely stay."
