"The cottage owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is situated up a short track (a couple of hundred yards from the end of the street) and has its own gated entrance and parking space at the back of the property. The views of the hills (Campsies?) from the back of the cottage are beautiful. You enter the cottage through your own private entrance at the back so you don't disturb the owners. The gardens are beautiful and well manicured. We saw rabbits, pheasants and lots of lovely birds on the bird feeders (binoculars were provided too!). Inside the cottage, the décor and facilities are excellent. Everything you can think of is provided from a coffee machine and coffee pods to plenty of towels and toilet rolls. The cottage is very comfortable and warm (you can control the heating yourself using a hive heating control). The décor is excellent and it is well furnished with quality furniture and bedding. The local facilities in Balfron are ok, there is a small Co-op, Post Office, pub, bakers, doctors and petrol station. We had arranged a Tesco delivery to the cottage so only used the Co-op a couple of times. We found the cottage to be very handy for what we wanted to visit. Stirling was only 20 miles away, Drymen 8 miles and Glasgow about 20 miles. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are within 20-30 minutes drive. We would definitely stay here again and can honestly say we think it is one of the best, if not the best, cottage we have stayed in."

"Very nice cottage, beautiful part of Scotland, very friendly cottage owners. We happened to have real nice weather too! It was a good central place to visit a large part of Scotland. It was our first visit to Scotland, so we also visited Glasgow (the beautiful Kelvingrove Museum, a roundtrip with the hop-on-hop-off tourist bus, the Willow Tea Room) and Edinburgh (National Museum, Royal Mile, Old Town). We went by train from Balloch to Glasgow. For Edinburgh we drove to Stirling, parked our car there (£3) and went by train. The Kelpies in Stirling are a beautiful landmark to visit, as is the Falkirk Wheel. We are interested in archeology too, we went to Kilmartin in Argyle to see the neolithical cairns and standing stones, the carved rock-art, and the museum. It is a 1,5 hour drive along the lochs, with a stunning view on the way, so a time well spent. the museum has a book with walks rond the several archeological sites, and more backgoud information which we found very useful."

"S24777 is in a perfect location for a family holiday in Bute. The views are incredible being right on the seafront.Parking was easy we managed to park right outside the apartment all week. The apartment spacious and has most of things you need for a self catering break.Unfortunately the cleanliness did not meet our standards. Things had been cleaned to the level which I would do when I am busy and do a quick surface clean. For example the chairs by the window had marks on them and and under beds hadn't been cleaned. However the apartment is good value for money and you would struggle to get any other accommodation in that location as cheap"

"We had a 3 day break at S69647 as we were on our way to Inverness. Jim & Susan were very helpful and friendly, we had table and chairs in the front garden and we sat watching the ferries in the lovely sunshine. S69647 is a lovely clean flat with everything you would need. It's idea for a short stroll to the pub, but has limited opening hours. But it's near to Dunoon for plenty of eating places and close to the ferry. There were places to walk with our 2dogs close by, our favourite was Puck Glen. Free WiFi, tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter was waiting for us when we arrived, great place would come again."

"We lived on the island for 11 years and only left due to ill health. So it was good to see the view of the harbour day after day. The weather was awful most days with bitterly cold winds and rain but thankfully the central heating had been set up to run continually. Knowing our way around and having friends there helped but the Discovery Centre will help anyone to benefit from all the places to visit while there. Should you wish to visit Glasgow you can buy a return ticket for the boat and train right into the centre for £14.40."
