"The owners is nice old chap very welcoming but the sad truth is the cottage has seen better days. The bathroom has black mold and smells. The fridge is worn out and runs continuously and does not keep things cold enough. It is so noisy it stops you sleeping at night. We gave up turned it off at night and went to the shops each day for fresh food. There is no freezer. The boiler is also very noisy. The lighting set up is ridiculous with all the upstairs and downstairs lights in the main areas on one circuit. Spot light shine in your face when watching TV. By contrast the kitchen area has no lights over the work service and is dark and dingy to the point of being dangerous to chop in. The sky light over the bed area has a blind but the sleeping area is open to the living area and skylight over that area has no blind or no means of closing it so you get woken up by daylight at 4.30 am at this time of year. There was no information as to things to do in the cottage or places to go.The garden is lovely but again no garden furniture to enjoy it so you are stuck inside.Overall the property is not to a suitable standard for renting out to,the public in its current state. With some work, new equipment and some thought it could be lovely."

"Having stayed at Beaufort Estate previously (Daisy Cottage & The Larder), we knew the cottage would be of good comfort & standard and Kennels Cottage did not disappoint. The cottage was clean, warm, spacious and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. The views from the lounge & kitchen across the fields and in to the distance were lovely. However, from a personal point of view, we were disappointed with the shower which has been badly designed/laid out. Between the shower hose stretching across to the holder and shower curtain edging in to the shower, it left no room to shower freely without 1 of the 2 (or both) being in your way or stuck to you. Also, the shower hose had a hole in it somewhere and the water pressure was low due to this. We stayed there for Christmas and on a cold winters morning, it would have been nice to have a warm comfortable shower to set you up for the day but unfortunately, this was not the case.On another note, the main bedroom would really benefit from having a wardrobe.Having said this, it would not put us off staying at Beaufort Estate again as it is a beautiful place with a very good location to visit the surrounding areas and attractions."

"We would strongly recommend S85945 as the ideal place to explore the highlands. All the fixtures and fittings were top of the range and nothing was lacking. The owner, Paul is attentive without being intrusive and the welcome pack he left was amazing. The house was warm and comfortable and the bed especially was very comfortable, which is a must for us.The photos don’t convey how big or beautiful this house is, it would easily accommodate a large family or 3 couples. It is just off a road but this quietened down in the evening and didn’t cause us any disturbance at all. Whilst there is nothing very close to the house within a 20 minutes drive there is a large supermarket and a small town centre which is great for picking up supplies. The only thing I would point out is that most parts of the house have some stairs and the main staircase is quite steep so it wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with significant mobility issues. We would definitely stay again, in fact I was very sad to leave as the house was perfect."

"The cottage was a little run down and deff needed a little tlc. The view was amazing and although it was away from all amenities this was what we wanted. My main issue was the wasp nests within the house. I had very young children who were stung on more than 1 occasion. This meant they spent the week terrified and i was thankfull neither were allergic. I spoke to the caretakers who did come to deal with the issue but only spraying wasp spray around the entrance of the nests this went on for 3 days and they never actually dealt with the overall issue. I went mid July so I dont believe that was the first they knew about the wasps and this should have been dealt with prior to any1 getting there and dealt with professionally. I got the impression they weren't interested."

"At the time of my stay the woodburning stove was broken and unable to be used. The fridge was in need of repair and as it was situated downstairs and directly underneath the bed the continual noise of the motor meant I had to turn the fridge off at night in order to sleep. I feel as the cottage has few light switches - but far too many lights - a power cut would create a very uncomfortable place to stay, especially for a solo traveller like myself. I would have enjoyed to use my radio by the bed but couldn't reach the only available socket as it was hidden behind a huge head board.I am sorry to paint such a sad description of the property which in other circumstances and with some repairs and alterations would be a lovely place to stay...but not for me."
