"Having stayed at Beaufort Estate previously (Daisy Cottage & The Larder), we knew the cottage would be of good comfort & standard and Kennels Cottage did not disappoint. The cottage was clean, warm, spacious and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. The views from the lounge & kitchen across the fields and in to the distance were lovely. However, from a personal point of view, we were disappointed with the shower which has been badly designed/laid out. Between the shower hose stretching across to the holder and shower curtain edging in to the shower, it left no room to shower freely without 1 of the 2 (or both) being in your way or stuck to you. Also, the shower hose had a hole in it somewhere and the water pressure was low due to this. We stayed there for Christmas and on a cold winters morning, it would have been nice to have a warm comfortable shower to set you up for the day but unfortunately, this was not the case.On another note, the main bedroom would really benefit from having a wardrobe.Having said this, it would not put us off staying at Beaufort Estate again as it is a beautiful place with a very good location to visit the surrounding areas and attractions."

"My wife, me together with my two daughters (10,14) stayed for a week at Patterson Cottage. Our host Catherine was really nice, she gave good advice at what we want possibly to see as this was our first stay in the Highlands. The Cottage was really nice, just right for 4 persons, clean, well equipped - had everything you possibly could wish for. After our long daily trips (the highlands are quite big and as this was our first visit, we wanted to see as much as possible) it was nice to come back to such a nice cottage. The location is very good for a stay of a week, plenty to do there - though the drives to the location may take a little longer (we drove up to 1 1/2 hours), but some of the attractions we visited were nearby. We visited Eilean Donan Castle, Glen Licht, Glen Affric, Loch Ness, Dunrobin Castle, Cawdor Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Ullapool, Inverness, and some waterfalls and gorges - in an easily drivable distance there a the Glenmorangie and Dalmore distilleries (if you are into whiskey). As you can see more than enough to do for a week.So I cleary would recommend a stay at the Patterson cottage."

"We had a problem finding the cottage as the sign on the wall outside says "Kilcoy House" and this information isn't given in the directions. It is only when you take the turning for Kilcoy House (out of desperation because there is nowhere else to go) that you see the sign for Patterson Cottage on the right. When we phoned the owner for directions he didn't point this out to us either !The cottage itself, is nicely appointed, with good quality furnishings and bed linens. There are a few little touches it needs though. There is no where to put the shampoo and shower gel so you have to put it on the shower floor all the time. There are no loo roll holders on the wall. There is no bread bin and it would be nice to have a few board games. There was wood for the fire but we couldn't find any paper or kindling to set the fire with.Little things, I know, but they make a difference."

"This was a lovely cottage with everything I needed for a lovely holiday, I had 50acres of estate I could explore as long as I didn't go near the castle, lots of trails through wood and streams and some going into kiltarlity. Could have done with a map so I knew where I was so I didn't end up at the castle. Very peaceful in the evening and saw hare, badger and deer with her twins but during the day did get the workers driving past. Perfect area, beauty was only 2 miles away with co-op petrol and local shops, for Tesco or asda was Inverness and downfall 10 miles, dolphins and urqhart castle were not to far either and close to raise to get anywhere in the highlands. So I would definitely stay again"

"We stayed here for 4 nights for a little get away, the cottage is lovely. A little cold, but fine once you buy wood and put the fire on and heating. Absolutely immaculate and clean, can’t be faulted there. If there’s any negatives, the big one would be no WIFI, not everyone needs it, but it would of been helpful on this particular trip. A bath would of been nice also, especially during these cold winter months, possibly a comfy sofa or chairs. The lounge area isn’t very comfy. Other than that I can’t fault it. Like other reviews there is a little noise from the main road but it didn’t affect us in anyway. All in all, a lovely property, great location, easily missed at night from the main road."
