"Location wise it is fantastic for exploring Snowdonia, albeit it is a very small, narrow, extremely steep hill you go up to get to the property (all part of the adventure). We had a Tesco delivery to supply us with all our food and drink for our visit. There are small Spar Supermarkets in the villages but you need to go to Porthmadog or Bangor to get to the bigger supermarkets. The rooms are lovely and spacious, yet cosy at the same time. Lots of period features including the original stove in the pool room, a wood burner, lovely wooden furniture in the bedrooms contrasted with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The hot tub was a super treat. I was adamant that visiting in February, we wouldn't me making use of it. Oh was I so wrong, I was the first one in there every night and the whole group of us used it each day. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to be able to stay in a cook evening meals for 8 and the dishwasher also meant breakfast dishes could be washed and ready for evening meals. Good size fridge freezer and the hob and oven were amazing - 4 gas rings, a griddle, a warmer, 2 ovens and a grill and a warming drawer for the plates! The only down side I would say is if you are above 5'3" be prepared to keep ducking your head to get through doorways. This is a 300 year old cottage, what do you expect!"

"Stayed here for a week and we loved it, even my son who is very vocal about places he stays in! Perfect in every way, very warm and cosy and like home from home. Not that everyone lives in an old train station!! Which added to the charm of this house. Dewi and carys, this place is a credit to your hard work and everything is fitted to perfection. Beds are so comfy, I always worry about it because I have an illness and if it's the wrong sort of bed I'm awake for a week! No probs here, so comfy. The hot tub was great if we could get into as my son took it over, he also took over the pool table in the signal box! Even pooch loved the place and slept every night near the back door and watched for anything that moved or flapped during the night. Very quite and sleepy place hard to imagine what it would have been like all those years ago. Could do with a guest book and also a stronger fan in the en suite as there's a lot of water that collects on the floor...this is by no way a criticism as it's definitely not a major issue but an afterthought. We love quirky places and this definitely is on my top 4 so far. Up the road is the Irish prison encampment with other history to and we love our history, go check it out its rather interesting and also there was once a distillery here to."

"And not forgetting the lillies. The view around the property were stunning with little lambs running around playing :0) there was a resident cat who visited daily, he or she was very friendly so don’t forget to feed it and give him some love if you do visit. There was 8 of us, sitting around the television at night felt a little small for 8 but if you have a few small friends like we did then it shouldn’t feel too bad. The only downside was the log burner, although Jane was very accommadating and brought use logs and got logs delivered the next day, they were very wet so the fire never really got going, the heating only came on for several hours a day which left us quite cold. The whole cottage was clean and has all facilities to cook, the dish washer was a bonus. The hot tub was a treat and we didn’t really move from there. Fresh towels were given to all 8 people which was nice. Over all the place is gorgeous would definitely go again, only be more prepared and bring my on logs which I can get going and perhaps for a longer period to enjoy some of the walks we didn’t get to go on due to the weather Thank you so much for a lovely stay"

"Facilities are excellent, full Sky Q package, nice fireplace, lovely hot tub and sauna and nice kitchen. Top notch and the real winning features of this cottage. We arrived to freshly painted outside walls but no warning so we were all covered in paint after walking in, including the dog who needed immediate cleaning. A pair of used underpants were left in the main bedroom and at this point we were so disgusted we would've left if we had somewhere else to go! There is a lot of bric-a-brac around which are dust collectors and need a serious clean (I'd just get rid). Hard to reach areas like light fittings are also filthy and let the place down.Offered for the owner to contact me to discuss however he hasn't, so that's why I'm leaving this review. I can't honestly recommend this cottage to friends and family because of the cleanliness, however if this was rectified the features would make it an excellent accommodation."

"Had a lovely stay in this converted railway station. It was great to see a book to see what the actual station looked like before it closed in the 60's. You do need a car to stay in this village, as there is nothing in walking distance apart from a friendly cafe about a minute walk away. The whole cottage was clean and had a lovely modern kitchen with washing machine, dryer and dishwasher and two nice clean bathrooms, one with shower and one with a bath and shower head. I liked the good quality bedding, towels and cookware and not all rentals provide fresh flowers, eggs, milk, butter and the best thing...homemade Bara Brith on arrival! One other thing has to be mentioned - the hot tub. It was an absolute pleasure, and it was nice to bump into the owner who showed us how to use it. We enjoyed our stay in Wales, and having nice accommodation adds to the pleasure."
