"Accommodation was ok, paintwork was a little tired in places and the oven was the equivalent to Arkwrights till i.e. don't let go of the oven door or you'll lose your foot! Furniture was comfortable and adequate, TV was adequate for our needs and included an inbuilt DVD player. (They offer free use of their DVD collection.) Facilities: Pool and Hot Tub were warm but looked a little mirky but the host did check the chemical balance daily. Indoors was a bonus as weather was terrible most days. Pitch n Putt was very random in that the 9 holes seemed to be randomly positioned, some could be reached with a putter however, no obvious route could be seen. Fishing lake is very good and well worth a few days as Carp very active on sweetcorn. Hosts were very pleasant and approachable although looked very over worked. Restaurant food was very nice and would recommend that without fail. Bar prices exceptionally good, Guiness, large red wine and 2 J20's approx £8.50. Nearby lanes approaching resort tricky and narrow so don't speed. Wouldn't say there was a community spirit between residents as the layout did not really encourage that but the bar area was very nice. Could have done with a towel warmer as the tumble dryer was next to useless. Washing machine was fine. Would happily stay there again but have done North Devon enough now and nothing in the are to keep the interest of a 9 and 11 year old...Menorca here we come!"

"My family and I would highly recommend both the S18928 Cottage for smaller families and the other cottages for larger parties. S18928 was well maintained, very clean, plenty of equipment and comfortable. The location of S18928 is excellent for access to the local area but equally if a party wanted to stay at S18928 all day the grounds are well maintained, views and local countryside is stunning. The cottages have access to an indoor heated pool and jazuzzi againb very clean and well maintained - You can even hire towels if needed. The cottages have access to the main building for wifi a very nice snug type bar and a fantastic resturant. There is also a games room with a pool and snooker table, dart board, table tennis and even games / puzzles for the kids. The owners / hosts are very welcoming, helpful and work extremly hard to ensure all parties enjoy the experience of staying. The bar area is like an old fashioned snug, with open fire, comfy seating, newspapers and great service. The resturant is decorated lovely and presented very professionally The food is home made and of an very very high standard and woudl highly recommend several visits. The Sunday roast is a must and the portions are always generous .This part of Devon is really lovely and we would have no hesitation in staying at S18928 or the other cottages on the complex again. The hosts make it an extra special experience. "

"I likened the apartment to a council estate flat. The decor is very tired, the cooker was poor with a broken door. The toilet stunk of urine. We had to buy air fresheners to hang up around the flat in order to combat the stench. Bedrooms were ok, no complaints with those. The pool was ok but the changing room was very dirty and didn't ever seem to be cleaned. I felt the glass table with its sharp edges was dangerous for our 2 year old and she came away with injuries to her face which could have been worse. The cooker was dangerous for families with toddlers. Dangerously rusty wheelbarrow by the unprotected pond outside of the flats, obviously not suitable for young families. Didn't try the food as I didn't trust the smashing reviews as these were written by the same people who wrote the amazing reviews relating to the accommodation. We actually left a day early as daughter cried each evening we returned to flat. This apartment block is a blot on a beautiful landscape. The pitch and putt is not a pitch and putt at all but nine flags scattered about a small overgrown field. However, I fell in love with North Devon as a location which was stunningly beautiful with beaches as good as I've seen anywhere in the world with huge sweeping bays set amongst green clad cliffs. Can't wait to go back to Devon."

"A fantastic holiday!!The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore the local area by foot, or who wants a base central to all the local tourist attractions. The accommodation was perfect for our little family of three, and we used the swimming pool everydayOn site, there's also a well equipped play room with darts, pool table and table tennis (although not much use as out little one is only 4 months old!!)There isn't much choice in terms of eating out - no pubs in walking distance - but the onsite restaurant was amazing...the food was so good that we weren't able to manage the dessert - probably the most disappointing part of the week! The staff we all very friendly and welcoming.I am sure we will stay there again.ThanksChris, Amy and Sadie"

"Lovely site. Family has big plans for this place when the season is over as they only took over in April. They are friendly and welcoming. Site is well in the countryside so we felt happy to let the kids out to play where they made lots of friends and we all had a nice relaxing fun filled holiday. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was great in the restaurant and catered well for me as I'm gluten free. Huge selection in games room and lots of movies for a rainy day. We had the pool to ourselves a lot of the time which the kids loved. There were lots of outside activities from golf, swings, sunken trampoline, fields, net for badmington, fishing lake. Onsite bar for the evening where we got to know other families. Definitely would return."
