"Just a few points:-No cork screw. The can opener didn't work properly. The vegetable & carving knives would barely cut a tomatoe. As we have found before at finlake & in lodges in other locations we have stayed there is never anywhere to hang bath towels. Towel rails would be nice.No parasol for outdoor furniture. It was badly needed as the week we were there it was super hot. It was difficult to keep the children out of the sun when we dined outside. The 2 sofas & the bed in the master room was overloaded with decorative cushions which may look a nice touch but was a bit overkill & nowhere to put them when you were actually sitting on the sofa. Also unfortunately a few of them looked grubby & were plucked. Not much room in the kitchen to put food.No waste bin the en suite. The high chair was dirty .Whilst I appreciate that people can do a supermarket shop ,I think it would be useful for the site shop to stock more fresh food, meat, fruit & veg. This was our 4 th visit to Finlake & we love it. We will no doubt come again"

"I have been to this resort before, and as it was so good I wanted to come back again! However I felt as a couple we were given below standard accommodation and I wouldn't necessarily stay here again. We were on a chalet pushed up a corner, which by lunchtime had no sunlight on the balcony (not idea for the hottest week of the year!) and our TV only seemed to show BBC channels (again not idea when England are playing in the World cup on ITV!). We noticed other people were given much better accommodation, when they were only staying for a long weekend and paying a lot less than we did for a week. Also, prior to our stay we were emailed asking for our details so we would have a quicker check in. I responded to the email asking a question to which I was ignored, and our check in was no quicker than normal?! This initial email seemed so pointless??We were both very disappointed and when paying as much money as we did, when visiting South Devon again would chose to stay elsewhere."

"As described in the review paperwork on departure if the lodge had been cleaned thoroughly (cobwebs clearly visible; washing machine edges and crevices had not been cleaned for a long time; we requested a replacement hoover as when used it smelled absolutely vile, the replacement hoover was an improvement, but only just). We felt that had the cleaning staff been more proactive on cleaning the lodge and then reporting deficiencies (the hoover) and damage such as the trim on the hot tub mat on the decking which had to be temporarily repaired whilst we were there, then our review values above would have been much higher.Overall though we enjoyed the accomodation."

"Be careful what lodge you are booking, some are older and dated furniture and fixings, we had booked a country lodge, the wife had a look and said no way is this premium, she went to reception and complained it was not what we wanted, we was then upgraded to a newish lodge on the Fairways field, these are all newish lodges top spec. One thing we did notice walking round looking at these lodges, some was filled with dead flies, god knows how these flies had got in the lodges, there was hundreds of dead flies in some of the lodges. Also we could not have any windows open in our lodge due to lots of flies coming in."

"The lodge did not look like the photos, which is what we went on to book the accommodation. On our return home, when I looked through previous e-mails, there does appear to have been a change in the accommodation. So we stayed in the Country lodge VIP rather than the Country Lodge VIP prestige (I think?) However, the children were happy with the hot tub so it was all fine and we were happy. There were signs of mice in the lodge, which I reported but again it didn't bother us too much. Maybe it would have done if we had eaten in the lodge a lot but we didn't and it is part of country life!!"
