What to do on your Cornwall cottage holiday

Although it would be nice to stay in the hot tub for a fortnight, it’s probably not healthy! And you’ll undoubtedly want to get out and explore this stunning part of the world. Its beaches, for example, range from lively surf spots like Fistral Beach to more tranquil strips of sand like Peter’s Point Beach, a top place to head if you’re looking to escape the crowds.

While Cornish beaches are amazing, what really makes this part of the country unique is the history and that tangible feeling of Arthurian Magic all around you. If history is your thing, then Tintagel is a must visit, a magnificent 12th century castle built along a cliff edge. If you’re feeling particularly taken with the magic of the place, you might head to the Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle, which occasionally opens at night for a very special, spooky experience!

"A wonderful welcome awaited us at this beautiful Cottage with fresh flowers and a cream tea. This cottage is like a tardis and very tastefully decorated throughout. Dogs welcomed & have an enclosed safe area. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and the hot tub was a bonus. The cottage is situated down twisty Cornish narrow country lanes for single traffic and from time to time cut ins for vehicles to pass and its away from it all. Very quiet and relaxing and no noise of traffic. The cottage is set between Farm lands with sheep, hens and cockrals plus wild rabbits. The owners of the cottage are very friendly but don’t intrude on your holiday. The small village of St Just is about 10 -15 mins away where there are a few pubs were Dogs are welcomed plus fresh fish & chips, a bakery and a convenience store for any fresh provisions required. I fully recommend this cottage for anyone wanting a peaceful cottage away from it all and I would definitely return."

"Great location, and a well-equipped cottage. However, the cleanliness was not up to standard considering the cost of this cottage. In particular, the front entrance to the cottage looked in need of cleaning and painting, and all windows were dirty, many with cobwebs and mould. Skirting boards and the floor at the side of bedside tables were filthy with dust and dog hair. There is no wi-fi even though it is still being advertised on the website, the spa bath didn’t appear to work, and we had to call the owner as there was no hot water on our first evening. I know the spiral staircase was clearly stated on the advert, but having now seen it, I would question how dog-friendly the property is. Some nice features, but not the high standard as advertised."

"A beautiful cottage, well presented and spacious upstairs and downstairs. With a gorgeous garden, the whole place was very toddler friendly. Our spaniel could escape under the gate or over the wall but luckily for us he chose not to.Easy to walk to the coastal path and to the nearest beach. Perfect location for exploring St Michael's Mount and out to Lands End. Spoilt for choice for day trips out in this stunning part of the country. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Our only negatives were the mattress in the main bedroom is a little uncomfortable, the springs now palpable. And the visitor book was quite limited in its information. But this remains the best cottage we have stayed in within the UK."

"Absolutely loved S20448. Stayed for a week with our family. Cottage was spotlessly clean with so much space and great location in fantastic grounds. Our two grandsons loved it seeing the horse each morning when we got up and the dogs who would often pop by for a morning fuss. Steve and Annie were perfect hosts. Steve was fantastic with the boys and such a friendly guy. Just a short drive to Bude where there is a fab beach and shops, pubs, cafes etc. Lovely walks along the canal into Bude. Perfect holiday at S20448. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice peaceful location with Bude on the doorstep"

"We stayed at the S21364 for my Mrs birthday, we took our two pugs with us. The cottage is lovely with nice walks from the cottage and also plenty of others a short drive away. The main shoppng areas with nice pubs are in Penzance (15 mins drive away). also 5/10 mins away from Lands end, and 20 mins from Hayle (with Philps in our opinion the best pasty shop in cornwall). The cottage is lovely and was very welcoming, especially with the heated floor. The hot tub was lovely. We had a great week and the mrs had an a fantastic birthday will 100% book again."
