"We love this cottage. We feel at home the moment we arrive, there’s a great atmosphere and although close to the town of Penrith and the village of Calthwaite it feels a million miles away from the stresses of everyday life. We love coming here. It’s a few minutes out of Penrith with its lovely mix of independent and chain shops. Plenty of grocery stores too (M&S, Sainsbury’s, Booths and Morrison’s). The village is less than a mile away and has a pub (we’ve not visited). It’s a great base to reach further afield too. Carlisle is 30 mins away (by the A road and M6, but it’s prettier to take little country lanes, off the beaten track, and take longer to get there by passing through tiny hamlets and villages). The cottage layout is perfect as my elderly parents have the downstairs bedroom with large ensuite shower room, and I have the upstairs ensuite. Beds are huge and comfy. Plenty of storage space. The kitchen is large and well equipped with views of the courtyard. The lounge has three window walls with great views out to Saddleback mountain. We love to watch the birds at the feeder (positioned in front of one of the big picture windows), the hares and the sheep. Sofas and chairs are comfy and inviting. Liz, the owner, and Naomi, the cleaning lady, are both lovely ladies, making us feel very welcome. Had one request of the owner, Liz, this holiday and she literally sorted it within 10 minutes - can not fault the service at all. Brilliant cottage. LOVE IT."

"A lovely place to stay if you want total peace and quiet! It's a lovely cottage, very well equipped - the kitchen is large and has everything you could want. The woodburner is effective - the central heating is run from it, so you do need to keep it going if it's chilly. The bed is very comfortable and sleeping in total silence is a real treat. Web didn't use the sofa bed as a bed, but as a sofa it's perfect for curling up in front of the fire. We didn't use the games in the cupboard but there are loads of them! The lovely owners live next door and are very helpful, but will leave you to enjoy the peace without interruption. Dog owners - no dogs on the furniture (fair enough) and be aware that the garden is shared, so you're asked not to exercise dogs there. There are loads of nearby walks, beaches and quiet country lanes, so this really isn't a problem. You're asked to remove pet hair etc before you leave (again, that's fair enough) but with mostly hard flooring and a good Dyson, that was a ten-minute whip round. If muddy paws need a wash after a walk, there's a mop bucket and an outside tap - there are dog towels supplied too!Ruthwell Church with its stunning 8th Century Cross is an easy 10 minute walk along the lane."

"Visited this cottage several times, and already looking to book again. I take my elderly parents (Dad has limited mobility). The lounge is huge with three walls of windows, lots of light and great views. Open plan into the huge kitchen/diner that is fully equipped. There is a downstairs bedroom with a super-king bed that can be split into two singles (on request). It has an ensuite with large walk in shower. It’s also accessible from the hallway. Upstairs is a huge bedroom, super-King size bed, with ensuite shower and bath. The cottage is immaculately clean, very well equipped, comfortable beds etc. The village is walking distance and has a pub (not eaten there but smells fantastic). Very easy to reach the main A road into Penrith which has several eateries, several supermarkets (Booths, Sainsbury’s, M&S food, Morrisons), a lovely little 2/3 screen cinema, banks, shops etc. Lots of country lanes to reach Penrith, Carlisle, Keswick and the M6. Owner is such a lovely lady and the cleaning lady is such a great character. Can’t re I mend it enough!"

"Sea Stones is good value for money, Lisa the owner is very hospitable and we loved the extras left to help us celebrate the New Year including the Christmas tree. We also liked the homely accessories in the property, the log burner was really welcoming and we used it every night, the beds are comfortable and the heating although controlled by the owner was just right. The bathroom was very spacious and great to have a separate shower. Very steep stairs, although not a problem for us or our kids aged 7 and 8, would be tough on younger and the very old or unsteady. The kitchen appeared to have most things we needed. However overall the property is now getting tatty and in need of a bit of a revamp and a deep clean and some of the kitchen items need replacing. Value for money was very good."

"This was the second time we stayed at this holiday cottage so we knew what to expect. On arrival there was a welcome pack of bread, milk and some yummy biscuits, all very appreciated. We were on holiday with our two children (8 and 4) and found the Accomodation adequate for a week’s holiday. The second bedroom is very small but fine for our two to sleep in. The kitchen is well enough equipped for a week with plenty of crockery and other utensils. We know Stratford and the surrounding area well as we have family in the town, we found lots to do and places to visit, although it wasn’t half term in Warwickshire so some places were not set up with the usual half term activities. Great place to stay and the owners are very friendly."
