"We had a really lovely stay in America cottage with our two young children. It was a very nice cottage with plenty of space and good facilities. There was an electric fire (which has switches under the top rim, to turn on the heat, in case this helps anyone in the future), good sized bathtub with shower over, two loos, another en suite shower, microwave, highchair, cooker, fridge freezer, a VERY good dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, baking trays etc. (Take tinfoil if you're planning to cook though.) The cottage has a private patio area, which has a table, chairs and a charcoal BBQ. The play area, just outside the patio area, is fenced in and secure for young children and has 3 slides, climbing frame with Wendy house style bits, swings etc. My kids really enjoyed the decent play area, so that was a big hit with us.I would have liked to have had two huge squishy textile sofas, in the living room, for comfort. Also, a choice of teabags (e.g. some black teas, some fruit teas) in sealed envelopes would have made it perfect. They could do with having bigger towels (bath sheets preferably) and if I'm being ultra picky: a slightly bigger bed in the main bedroom would have been fantastic. Having said that, the staff were absolutely lovely and waived the towel hire fee, so I'm not complaining. The only other things I can think of, that might be notable for future guests, are: that neither of us had mobile phone reception (although we did have WiFi, which was a lifesaver!) and there is no parking space directly outside the door, so you will need to carry everything up from the car park.As my husband will attest, I am very difficult to please, but I loved America cottage and would heartily recommend it to anyone. It was cheaper than a hotel and an absolute gem! It was very spacious and comfortable and my children had an absolute blast running around in there. There is also a large Tesco nearby for anything you discover you need once you arrive, so all in all, a great place for a break. Just try to arrive in daylight, as trying to find it in the dark is a bit of a mission!"

"Really great holiday for our group of 4 adults and 3 boys over 3 generations - we’ll certainly visit again. Hay Rick is in a beautiful Devon village with 2 pubs but Teignmouth, Dawlish and Paignton really accessible along the A380 so we enjoyed the countryside for walks and local seaside too. The accommodation has a very well equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms- just what we needed. Hay Rick is a working dairy farm and the boys really enjoyed their tour of the farm with the farmer. It was a highlight for them and something they will always remember. Hosts David and Janice were on hand and welcomed us with a Devon cream tea getting the week off to a great start. They were always friendly and helpful throughout our stay too. Would really recommend Hay Rick to families and couples wanting to experience the best of South Devon’s countryside and coast in comfortable surroundings."

"We thought the house had so much character and was perfect for our stay! We like houses that are old but modernised which is what this was!! Great decor and space and we loved the balcony and conservatory. Only criticism we have is that we were a bit put about by the fact that the men downstairs could access our whole house and if they did anything then we would be accountable. So we set a trick with a tiny piece of paper so if the door was turned then we would know. I think you should have a Yale lock on there so guests can decide if downstairs can come up or not. Also one shower for all those guests isn't enough. Put one over the bath. We had an amazing walk to Teignmouth though along the high wall and and a meal at Dairy Maid was beautiful, especially the seafood platter! Well recommend!!! Thank you for an amazing stay!!! The balcony as well is a right sun trap!!!"

"The Coach House is in a great location, you can walk into eiher Dawlish or Teinmouth, some great little pubs near by.It has a washing machine, dryer, range cooker, american stlye fridge/freezer an great on suite to the one bedroom and a extra large bath.Has a great litle conserverty and balcony to sit out/in there is also a log burner in the front room for cosy night in.Areas for improvement....WIFI didnt work the whole holiday it didnt seem to be conected, not enough sits/sofas the sofa's there were not very comfortable and you could fit bigger ones in.The snug room is just empty this could be a great room just needs some sofa's and chairs could even have an extra tv in there.Could do with putting a gate at the top of the stairs of the balcony for children.Don't let these this last part put you off though there only areas that can make it better than it is already!"

"A bit isolated, up some steep and narrow country lanes, but then it is a converted farm! Stunning views, great pool house, most bedrooms a great size with super comfortable beds, needs a little tlc in terms of décor (cracked floor slabs, dated kitchen, bathrooms dont have windows so don't get any natural air circulating, very steep stairs), but generally it's a lovely property set in beautiful grounds, incredibly peaceful. Staff that we met couldn't have wanted to help us more. Very pleased that the local supermarket (we used Tesco) delivery drivers can find it without directions - use the directions - they seem longwinded when you first read them, but trust me they are accurate! We were a group of 14 enjoying a weekend break in September. Only complaint - no salt and pepper - not bad if that's the only complaint!"
