"Lovely place itself, very peaceful, modern and comfortable, wonderful Barn Conversion in beautiful surroundings. The owners were particularly welcoming & informative. We had 2 14 year old girls with us who had no problem not having access to their Wifi during our short stay and thoroughly enjoyed their own bedroom, en-suite bathroom and access to the Hot Tub and Summer House. For us personally we would have enjoyed a nice pub within walking distance but everything is a drive away, as we knew this on reading up on the accommodation beforehand we took our own booze to enjoy once we got back from meals out. We also took Playing Cards, a Jig-Saw, Mini Jenga and Uno to play which was a very pleasant change to watching the TV till bedtime. We would like to point out that the showers in both en-suites probably need some attention/update as the water was not that powerful from the shower head in the double room, the jets from the shower head were like little needles which couldn't be altered and some sprayed in a horizontal direction. There were additional jets on the shower casing in the double room but these did not seem to work at all. Otherwise both bathrooms were very modern, the double room was a good size & both had wonderful underfloor heating. The twin en-suite bathroom was quite a bit smaller than the double room but it was great as a 2nd bathroom and toilet. The bedrooms were lovely, very comfortable and nicely decorated. We personally found the double bed a bit too soft and warm for us but not sure if this was the mattress protector if it was polyester rather than cotton? This didn't deter us from completely relaxing and enjoying a very home from home stay. The accommodation itself held the heat very well and it was very cosy at night time. The open plan kitchen was well equipped, we made our own cooked breakfast each morning apart from our leaving day where we went to the recommended Johnson's Garden Centre for a very good full English Breakfast.Although the accommodation was out of the way it did prove to be extremely relaxing which is what we needed, it was very peaceful and great to get away from the hustle and bustle. The highlight was the Hot Tub for the girls - excellent!!! Gorgeous garden view and again so very peaceful with a heated Summer House to sit down and dry off and get warm in afterwards. We also were invited to feed the 5 week old lambs down the lane and give them their breakfast before we left. This was a lovely little treat for us.Think we could have stayed happily for a week but very much enjoyed our short break thanks to Gill and Brian, thank you."

"Positives - Lovely modern and fresh cottage. Spacious. Good provision of cookware, utensils and cleaning products. Owners super friendly. Cottage itself was very clean. Beds very comfortable and loads of storage. Negatives - not convinced the hot tub water is changed often enough. Certainly not between changeover of each guest group which is imperative considering it's a shared hot tub anyway. Hot tub had a problem through our stay and went smelly and green. It was treated when we pointed this out but I feel it should have been drained and refilled. Also skylights in every room made sleeping practically impossible in the mornings especially with children. Could be easily remedied with velux blinds although appreciate these would have to be installed to be operated either by pole or remote as skylights too high to reach. Finally, a call from the owners before we went would have been a nice service. I called them to check what was available but in the past the cottage owners from other bookings have always contacted me."

"Cottage was a good location for walking. There was a restriction on the heating controls & I felt cold much of the time. Mentioned how cold cottage felt to me on arrival but owner didn't seem very simpathetic although appeared to nudge individual controls up?but I still felt cold most of our stay. Didn't feel comfortable raising it with owner again. Wood burner on offer which for us was a 'faf' & extra logs charged for after initial supply.Would have liked cleaning products & cloths in the bathroom. White towels very greyish. If snowy white towels cannot be offered I prefer coloured ones as suggests towels not thoroughly clean. No plug point for hairdryer near a mirror.Although knife block had a good selection non were sharp. Weak Wi-Fi so TV programmes we planned to watch via our iPad - we couldn't.Good quality furniture throughout also kitchen & bathroom high quality."

"We booked this cottage based on the previous reviews and I am so pleased that we did. The owners are so helpful and gave brilliant ideas. We went with two 15 year old girls and there is no WiFi and the girls did not complain once! That goes to show what a lovely time we all had. In Boston they suggested we go to Crumbs for our breakfast and it was only £3.50 for the biggest feast you have ever seen. We ate a gorgeous Sunday lunch on their recommendation, went to a seal sanctuary and a parrot zoo. We have happy memories and felt so relaxed. The cottage was so more spacious that we even considered and the underfloor heating in the shower rooms was a lovely surprise. The hot tub was amazing. This was such a lovely break away and every second of it made happy family memories."

"What a beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful location.Maple Tree Cottage is of a very high standard and is very well equipped to cater for your every need. Ann is a very friendly owner and was very helpful. Thank you Ann for the welcome tray it was greatly appreciated. The cottage is in a very quiet location but everyone who lives there are so friendly and always made a point to say hello when passing. There are some lovely walks to be had around the area and a handy local pub can be found just down the road!I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and it is a credit to Ann as she has decorated it beautifully.Thank you Ann for allowing us to stay - it was just what we needed.Tony & Julie and Domino (the pooch)"
