"We chose this property because we needed 3 bathrooms with showers due to the mix of guests not all being family. Unfortunately only one shower worked and the toilet and sink in one of the bathrooms didn't,t work either. We had been contacted by the ow ner prior to going to say that the cleaner had found water on the bathroom floor so could we watch out for a leek. Our problem was that you could stand under the shower for 5 mins and not get any water then it came belting out staying all over the place and then just as abruptly stopped. The same happened at the sink getting you absolutely soaked into the bargain the toilet also didn't,t flush unless you pulled the stop cockup. This was the only bathroom at this side of the property for 2 of the bedrooms which was very awkward especially at night we all had to trapseover the other side of the house down our flight of stairs and up another flight. There was obviously major issues with air locks or whatever and we believe that the owner was aware of this before we arrived as she had phoned us. There was also comments in the visitors book about shame about the plumbing. As we were only there for a weekend celebrating a birthday we felt we did not have the time to be staying in waiting for a plumber to arrive and didn't,t like the idea of someone we didn't,t know coming into the property whilst we were out with our things ther. The owner phoned us afterwards and asked how things were and tried to say we should of run the water to get the air lock through but my husband is a plumber and he said this was more than an air lock issue. She rang several times trying to excuse the plumbing as suddenly just happened but we believe this has happened on many occasions by what we read in the comments . It is unfair that we paid such a lot of money for a weekend when we needed 3 bathrooms and only could use 1. This property should not be marketed as having 3 fa vilifies when only 1 worked and it is clear this has happened before. The rest of the place was excellent. It was a shame it spoilt what would of been a perfect week end. I would go back again but only if I was assured there were no more plumbing problems and it had been properly checked before guests arrived the showers and sinks. We followed instuctions and made sure only one person tried to shower at a time but then only one could anyway as only one worked."

"I am a 40 yr old male professional and I stayed at The mill stone riding center cottage for 7 weeks. It was an unusually long stay for a holiday let, and i know i was extremely lucky to have had this vacancy for as long as i needed. Its a real gem of a place. As a hub for exploring the UK or working within wolverhampton or surrounding area, you cant beat the west midlands. It is just far enough yet close enough to city centers, Peak district, lake district, try and see it all... I did. Plus its location within Pattingham is walking distance to a nice pub (the Pigot Arms), grocery, horses of course! and bridleway walking paths. Its a renovated old horse stable with loads of charm, a smart layout w comfortable furnishings. The bedroom is roomy and comfortable, new and clean bathroom, kitchen, flat screen TV's, Stereo, free Wi-Fi, freezer and separate area for the washer and dryer. The private garden out back is a mature retreat with lots of roses blossoming if you stay in May thru July. Its a very a special place and I'd stay again without hesitation. 10 out of 10 stars from me after 7 weeks, nuf said. The owners are very friendly and more than willing to help with any of your needs. I can't say enough how much this place and its owners made me feel at home despite it being thousands of miles away for me. Thank you Tim and Louise, I really hope we can share another glass again someday. Cheers!"

"We had a fantastic holiday in The Old Carthouse - really relaxing and welcoming. There were the two of us and our 2 year old and 6 year old and they had a great time too. The place is comfortable and feels well looked after. The kids loved playing with Holly and Meg (the dogs), as well as admiring the ponies and cows in nearby fields. I loved playing with the Pizza oven. I never quite got it right, but I think that's down to practice more than anything. They definitely tasted better than the frozen ones! There's loads of things to do in the area that aren't too far away. We would definitely recommend the National Memorial Arboretum (surprisingly great for young children) which was about 20 minutes drive. We're National Trust members, so we spent a lot of time visiting those properties, and there's plenty to chose from. There's no Wi-Fi and very patchy mobile signal, which is great for feeling disconnected from the world, but did cause a slight hiccup when we couldn't check that somewhere was open (it was closed cause of high winds!) so we nearly had a wasted journey. The DVD player was also rather complicated to figure out!"

"We booked the house to stay in during the lead up to, and after, our wedding at St Mary's Church opposite the property. It was an excellent base to put up our family, with the club across the road offering hearty breakfasts and the coop for anything else. The kitchen was also well eqipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware making the house ideal for family and friends to gather. There was plenty of outdoor seating too - the only thing we missed was a BBQ. The bedrooms were a good size, and comfortable, as were the bathrooms. The view of the garden and church, and village surroundings were lovely and could be enjoyed even in the rain as the owners provide several large golfing brollies! Overall, we had a fantastic time and would stay again. Our only issues were difficulty operating the sky in the cinema room - but we were too occupied catching up with family and the enjoyment of the wedding for this to bother us!"

"What a great place. Absolutely amazing. Great location with the pub about 100 yards away (we counted!!) There is also a great little adventure park with zip wires a short walk away.Brilliant facilities and enough showers and bathrooms etc. to ensure that there was never any arguments or waiting. Pictures on here do this place no justice. It has to be booked. 9 of us stayed and there was more than enough space. Cinema room was well used as was the garden (basketball and football) and table tennis table.Lynda was a great host and was on hand and easily contact able for any incident.Only thing that could make this place better would be being able to light the fire in the front room (it would make it more cosy according to the ladies in the group!)"
