"This house has spectacular views over the sea. It is spotlessly clean, comfortable ,warm, well equipped and appointed. Its position is raised above the seaside village of Gardenstown which is accessible down a steep road. The description lists a woodburning stove but the owners would prefer you used smokeless fuel (available from the fuelstop garage before the bridge in McDuff if you arrive Saturday after the coal merchant has shut). We were staying early in the season so most of the local amenities in Gardenstown were not yet open (hence the 7). There is a spar 300 metres away for the basics and towns within 20 minutes drive with shops and supermarkets. Within an hours drive either side there are distilleries ( with tours and tastings) , dolphin centres, locally landed fish shops, seal beaches, gannet and kittiwake colonies. fishing villages etc. There is plenty to do and Ruach provides a cosy base camp at the end of the day. If you are travelling with children or like to be connected, download all your entertainments before you go ( they have provided freeview television DVDs Blue rays and a cd player) . There is no Wi Fi and the 4G is limited, but that may be exactly why you choose this property. We were there for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it ."

"They were not really set up for people wanting to have a 2 week holiday. I would have liked an extra set of sheets to change after 1st week. Arrived at around 5pm it was freezing no heating on.The previous holidayer had reported on the 16/11 in the maintenance book that the bulb had blown in the bathroom, we arrived on the 24th the light still did not work. Not sure what was the point of the book if it is not checked and actioned upon? If they say that you get x y z per week then they should have supplied x y z x2 for the 2 week holiday. There are 3 Beaches that are beautiful. Seals in the sea. Lots of Stags and Doe in the local areas. Scenic views are just breathtaking. Lots of walking to be done. It rained a lot and was very windy. The fire in the property was a welcomed pleasure as you didn’t need to clean it out each day like normal fires. The integrated fridge door kept opening, realised that it had the wrong hinges on, for some reason it has soft closing hinges these needs changes to standard hinges. And it needs venting in the plinth to stop the compressor over heating. Nice size kitchen. Property bigger than it looks from looking at it from the road. One Sofa Comfy other not so."

"This cottage has a beautiful location nestled under a hill beside a fast running river feeding into a sea loch through a Victorian stone bridge. It is in the village of Poolewe with a useful village shop and post office and a Tuesday market. The hotel in the village does reasonable food and has a busy bar if you want a break from cooking. You can also walk to Inverewe Gardens which is run by the Scottish National Trust. It's not cheap but the garden and house are amazing. The cottage is well equipped and heated if the weather turns. It is very clean and well presented. It is a good base for anyone with a dog. You can step out the door and go on a fantastic six mile walk round a remote loch in the Letterewe estate. It is also 10 minutes from Gairloch which has a bookshop and coffee shop as well as a mini market and an small farm shop with some hillwalking gear if you forgot some kit. There are some great beaches as well as hill walks.PS Special thank you to the caretaker who came out at short notice after a long day at her work when there was a glitch with the wifi."

"Lovely location sitting up on a hill from nearby Inverbervie. The view from the end of the driveway down to the coast is wonderful. The cottage is well equipped with cooking utensils, washing machine, dishwasher (with tablets in cupboard), microwave and cooker etc. There was milk in the fridge, some tea/coffee for an arrival cuppa and a packet of shortbread. The three bedrooms were comfortable, the upstairs bathroom looked a bit tired but was perfectly functional. It was warm and cosy. Converted from the former school there is plenty of character with high ceilings and large multi-pane windows. Very peaceful location. The Grassic Gibbon centre is next door. The historic St Ternan's church is a short walk away (the final resting place of several of my ancestors) with the memorial to Lewis Grassic Gibbon. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, there are many fabulous beaches to explore and plenty interesting and historical places to visit."

"We had the pleasure to be the very first guests in the recently modernised apartment. Everything was new. A number of items were missing. We immediately adressed those things with the landlord and he sorted it all out in a quick manner. The apartments in the Courtyard are best for visitors that intend to explore Scotland by train. Inverkeithing railway station is situated within walking distance and offers frequent train connections (Edinburgh is served every 15 mins in a 22 minute journey). We made excursions to Dundee, St. Andrews, Pitlochry, Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Our first floor apartment had three windows out onto the High Street, which offers an interesting view. Landlord and his house keeping team are very friendly helpful."
