What our customers are saying about our Sleeps12 Cottages In Yorkshire And The Humber To Rent.

Crispin HMrs ButterworthLloyd MMiss Swalesmoomingirl - verified booking

"My sons wanted to stay in the area with their families so that we could all catch up and the children could go on the KWVR Santa Special. They rented this house and found it almost perfect. Bags of room, with ample accommodation for all of them - we were able to visit one night and have a meal there. I would be giving it five stars if the heating had been on longer and the wood left for the fire had been drier so we could warm ourselves up a bit!! Great location and fab views. Biggest problem was lack of heating. Central heating only available to us for 2 hours early morning and 2 hours early evening. The open fire in the sitting room made a cosy space but we were required to provide our own fuel. We were cold in other areas of the house. We had a young baby with us but this didn't encourage the owners to increase the heating. Very cold weather, snowing on our day of arrival. May be ok in summer season. Unlikely to return. An impressive grade 11 listed building full of character and the photos do not give it justice. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy and full of character and fully equipped for the large family. It has an arga oven in the kitchen pleasant enough way to cook when you are not cooking but a challenge for any good cook, plenty of utensils pots and pans available for the larger family. With sky TV for watching all the sports a variety of books available in all the rooms it could easily be mistaken for a library, and plenty of DVDs available for all ages. A pool room that is great source of entertainment for all the family to enjoy. The trampoline in the garden is great source of entertainment for the children and the large gardens are suitable for great day of a variety of outside games and the grass is maintained on a regular basis. There is no problem with the water and the shower and baths were always ready with hot water and never a drop kin presser. Be carful of the owners dog as you open the back door as he sneaks in without your knowledge, but never a problem. check out the website as it does what it says on the tin. There are plenty of place to visit with Settle only a few miles away and the market albeit only small is worth a visit. Settle has a goos variety of shops and can recommend the China China chines takeaway( no delivery ski-ton is only approx 15 miles away another great place to visit with plenty of attractions to suitable all ages, another great place for markets days. The cottage I would recommend to all families and children, check it out.We absolutely loved it here and the owners were very friendly and helpful too. The only one big letdown was that there is only one shower in the whole house (and it's in one of the en-suite bathrooms). This was a bit of a problem for us, especially as there were older people staying who were unable to get washed without a shower. Apart from that though, really great and brill location. :)We had a great weekend away with the family (8 adults and 2 pre-teen children). There was plenty of space due to the very grand proportions of every room and the rooms were beautifully decorated, although the furniture was not expensive enough to make you feel uncomfortable. The kitchen was large and well-equipped with enough pots and pans to cook Sunday lunch for 10 on the Aga (a challenge taken up by my sister-in-law, thankfully!). We could just about sit 10 around the kitchen table. Despite its size, I found the house warm and cosy, and we experienced no issues with the shower or water supply, although I agree the bathrooms are a bit dated. My bed was comfortable with lovely white cotton bedding. Pool table, Sky TV and piano kept everyone entertained, and there were plenty of books on various bookshelves which I would have loved to to have read, had we been staying for longer. The area is very picturesque, with plenty to do. On Saturday we went to Skipton, where the shops and castle were worth a visit, and on Sunday we walked around nearby Malham Tarn. The house was also about 30 mins from Ribbleshead Viaduct (starting point to climb Whernside), and 20 mins from Horton-in-Ribblesdale (to climb Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent). The nearest takeaways were in Settle (3km away), with a selection of Fish and Chips, Chinese and Indian."
