"We found the house to be in a great location and there was lots of space internally. However, some of the rooms smelt of smoke, particularly the games room and middle first floor bedroom and the kitchen surfaces were sticky. The shower rails in the bathrooms were inadequate and the temperature and pressure of the showers themselves fluctuated without altering the temp manually. The fridge freezer, for a house advertised as sleeping 9 people was far too small and the bbq was a joke as it was tiny and didn't appear to have been cleaned at all.The house just seemed a little un-loved which was a shame. There should also be more information regarding neighbours and the fact that the hot tub is on a timer, on the website. We hadn't realised that we would be unable to use it after 9.30pm!I feel that the house was over priced for the level of accommodation offered and for that reason I would not stay again."

"The property itself was lovely, very spacious and in a good location for visiting the surrounding attractions. We did, however, have a few issues during our stay.1. The free view tv box in the sitting room was old, did not work and had exposed wires which could have electrocuted somebody. We replaced it and were told by the owner they would repay us but this has not happened.2. The fifth bedroom had two very small beds (probably only suitable for under 10s), it had no storage facility, very poor mattresses and duvets which were grubby.3. The general cleanliness was sub-standard (stains on cushions and floors, finger prints on tv and windows, fridge not clean etc).4. About 30% of the light bulbs either did not work or were missing.Money should be reinvested to bring the property up to the level expected for the star rating it has and the amount charged to stay in it. It needs a thorough clean."

"The location was ideal as you could walk into Chester easily and also get to the station. Chester zoo & the aquarium were also near and easy to get to by car. The house needs some attention a light and a fire were not working. The heating was electric but was on time switches not ideal for Oct. The hot tub was a tepid tub and needed some attention as it was scummy. I wouldn't have liked to cook a meal for 9 people as the equipment provided was minimal. In these days we were surprised there was no internet / wifi connections. Coat hooks would have been handy as there was nowhere to hang wet coats. More information / maps about Chester would have been handy"

"This cottage is on a very very busy road. Parking is difficult in the nearest side streets. There is a pub immediately opposite so it is noisy until late and there are bright lights all night. Seating is inadequate for four people. There is no heating in the shower room. To use the bathroom and downstairs toilet, one must go through the kitchen into the lobby which is cold. There is very limited cutlery and crockery. On the plus side the cottage is clean and convenient for Chester. We would not choose to stay at this cottage and it is expensive for the facilities provided."

"The house is in a very good area with easy walking access to the city centre and rail station. A large Waitrose is just over the road. Parking was good with the benefit of the resident's permit although there was little need to use the car as we travelled mostly by train (£5 for a day rover to Liverpool) or else visited the town. Facilities were just as described. The smaller rear bedroom is quite noisy due to traffic on the main road. Earplugs solved the problem. Overall a very pleasant home from home."
