"I stayed at Rose Cottage with my partner, my parents and our dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage. The location is perfect for Salisbury (10 minute drive from the nearest park and ride) and a 10 minute drive from stone henge. It is in a small village with a farm shop selling pies, cakes and vegetables and a pub called the Boot Inn that had a wide selection of lunches and evening meals. However, the shop was shut on Monday, our day of arrival. The cottage itself is gorgeous, just as I would imagine a cottage to be. The front garden is perfectly cared for. However, we took a miniature dog with us and he could have got out of the garden between the trees or through the gate. Not a problem as we had taken his extender lead with us so kept him on that. The family have thought of everything! They had a doggy cupboard with a selection of items for dogs - and had even provided the details of the nearest vets. Everything you could possibly need and more was provided. Child gate, hand washes with every sink, tissues, drinking straws, spare serviettes and plentiful cutlery are just a few of the items we were surprised to find. The family had also provided lots of information about the surrounding area, including tourists leaflets, local magazines and a list of the closest supermarkets with postcodes. The finishing touches were also perfect. The dinning table had already been laid and there were little teddy bears on every bed. This is our first cottage experience, and we felt the cottage was deserving of a four star rating rather than the three stars it had been given. It was a perfect place to stay and we would most definitely look to stay here again if we wanted a holiday in this area."

"We had a great week in this comfortable well equipped cottage. The beds were comfy and the rooms a good size, especially the master bedroom which had large windows overlooking the countryside with an ensuite bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with a large range style cooker so plenty of space to cook if you wish. There was plenty of parking space and the owners very friendly as was everyone we spoke to on the farm. Our young son enjoyed watching the horses, sheep, chickens, ducks and the friendly farm dogs. The location was nice and quiet but only a ten minute drive to Warminster for supplies. We celebrated our wedding anniversary while there and had a great meal out at the Snooty Fox which we would recommend.Lots of National Trust and English Heritage sites are within 30 minutes drive, Longleat is even closer and Bath is not much further so there is plenty to see and do."

"After returning from a fab week at the Stable, we would definitely stay again, and plan to in the near future. We are a family of 5 all ages and loved every minute of this place and location. The family who own the Stable were very friendly and greeted us with freshly baked cake on day of arrival. We loved the coming & going of the children and the day to day running of the farm. The surrounding area was very pretty. The Foxham inn was close by and within easy walking distance. The local shop was alot further away. The stable is a perfect holiday home for a family and we will going again the the summer next time, as the snow this time was drifting along the roadside. Will look forward to the summer flowers and a different feel. I would recommend The Stable to all my friends for a lovely home from home holiday."

"The cottage was extremely well equipped with everything that one might require. All was clean & very comfortable. The elaborate planting of the garden areas was both a joy to the eye as well as ensuring privacy. The 4 bedrooms meant we had various relatives to stay for varying short periods who we would have been unable to see during such a fully planned fortnight. It was interesting to be able to see what life could be like in a such a "Chocolate Box Village" as Berwick St. James for the relatively small percentage of the UK population who could afford the (presumably very high) local property prices - many residents either had a Mercedes-Benz set of wheels parked kerbside or an immaculately clean & shiny large 4WD which seemed unlikely ever to leave the black-top."

"The Gates is a beautifully restored and sensitively updated historic home. Furnishings were refined, comfortable and well selected. The kitchen was particularly well equipped. Two very nice pubs were literally across the street from our front door, but the village was perfectly quiet at night. Castle Combe is absolutely lovely and an excellent base for touring the Cotswolds. We enjoyed a fantastic circuit walk of approximately six miles right from our front door, and we left the walk description in the Gates information book in kitchen for use by future guests. On our last night, we had a wonderful, memorable dinner at the Bybrook Restaurant in the Manor House Hotel (a 3 minute walk) to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday. All in all, a fantastic visit."
