"We are a group of 10, 4 adults & 6 children from age 10 - 16. We had a great time at Candlelight. We ordered groceries from Asda the week before, which were recieved by Charlotte for us on the morning of our arrival. Charlotte & Keith had left a great welcome package of cakes, local snacks & wines for us which was a really nice touch. Although we ordered cleaning materials & hand washes etc with our shop all of this was already provided. The cottage is very large, spacious, tastefully decorated & spotlessly clean. Charlotte met us to say hi - no lectures on do's & don'ts just a friendly welcome. The owners live next door across the cottage's private car park but they did not interfere with us they were just there if we needed them. It is a beautiful cottage with roof beams & period features. Downstairs is a large hallway, two spacious twin / double bedrooms, a large living room (with a large DTV), large kitchen with all untensils & appliances you could possibly need, a dining area with seating for 10 and a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, wc & boiler. We had unlimited hot water all day which was great. Upstairs are 3 more bedrooms - 2 en-suite doubles & a twin. There is also a large bathroom with wc, shower, bath & sink. All bedrooms were very well finished with ample hangers for clothes & comfortable beds. Outside there are back & front gardens with ample seating in both, a hot tub which was checked each day for water quality, a pond & a small lawn at the rear. There were plenty of towels provided for everyone plus extra large towels, robes, slippers & flip flops for use with the hot tub. The cottage is located in a quiet rural setting with 2 local pubs within walking distance, both of which serve food. Totnes is the local town less than 2 miles away - the seaside towns of Brixham, Paignton, Torbay & Torquay are not far away. There was a comprehensive information pack with everything from emergency information to local restaurants & beaches etc in the hallway. It was just perfect for us and we would love to go back. Just for info if you are expecting to visit the local seaside towns regularly it is worth going to the Tourist Information Offices & buying a 7 day car park pass for £35. These are valid in all local council controlled car parks (which is most of them). There is no such thing as free car parking in the towns and it can mount up so definately worth considering for peace of mind. Also recommend the boat / steam railway / bus round robin trips from Torquay & Dartmouth. Many thanks to Charlotte & Keith. It was great."

"A lovely cottage in an idyllic setting, away from busy roads but walking distance to good shops.
Number 3 is delightful , the pictures in the brochure don't do it full justice. The same goes for the garden, it's much larger and so tranquil, the stream at the bottom is an utter delight as is the large summerhouse. Everything inside was to a very high standard and the mix of quality ceramics , Ornaments and furniture made me feel really at home. The bedrooms are large, warm and extremely well-furnished. If I can suggest one thing it would be that the rating should be at least four star, at three and half stars i nearly didn't book, I wanted a cottage close to Tanner Bates' Leatherschool at Dartington and this was a lovely walk to reach it, and flat! Not an easy place to find without better directions or sat nav. When I arrived there was a nicely set Devon tea awaiting. No wine, goodies or discount card, though. I did inform your office that I wasn't bringing a dog , and they reassured me this £20 would be refunded. The hot water problem was quickly sorted and I found it to be my fault not the lovely owners'"

"A beautiful cottage, in a lovely setting. Very well equipped kitchen, the separate utility room was a real bonus for us as traveling with children (and needed to do washing!) All bedrooms comfortable and stylish, nice big living room and a proper dining table that sat 8 adults, a child and a highchair easily. The welcome basket of treats was great and a really nice touch! Would definitely recommend this cottage if you want a relaxing, quiet stay and are happy to drive to attractions - it's about 15-20mins to Paignton and about 40mins to Salcombe. This suited us well.We visited the local community pub Tally Ho which was a few mins walk, which was friendly and had a small enclosed grassy beer garden. Only downsides of our stay were the busy traffic through Totnes itself, and the hot tub was set a bit cool for us at 39 but could turn this up (just takes a while to get warmer). Was also quiet full, when we had four of us in it, it almost overflowed! However these are very minor issues, we had a brilliant stay and Charlotte the owner was helpful by email before we arrived."

"An excellent barn conversion. Beautifully maintained. All the equipment you could even need. The swimming pool/sauna/jacuzzi area is once more beautiful, a real plus for the property , the pool itself was our primary reason for booking. Hosts are very welcoming and on hand should you have a query. The village location is gorgeous -but somewhat off the beaten track. Lovely and quiet but narrow roads to reach it. We loved Dartmouth which is a few miles South - a picturesque quayside, I really enjoyed trying to crab, but the kids got a little bored as I was useless! If you like cream teas - I strongly recommend a visit to the tea room next to Dartmouth castle. Another fun day out being the Woodlands family fun park just a few miles from the cottage. Our 3 kids (under 8) all loved it. We were one of the last people to leave that day. Slides and soft play galore. I would go back to this area - it is very enticing. Loads of things we didnt have time to do - loads more beaches to explore. Boat rides to have etc."

"Very good
3 lownards cottage, is a beautiful property, as is the charming garden.Ideal for sitting out, and taking refreshment, while watching the small shallow river at the end of the garden, an artists delight! Inside the cottage is very tastefully furnished with everything that would be required for a weeks holiday. When we arrived after a long drive,we found Liz, who lives next door, had left us scones etc. and tea, which was very welcomed, thanks! Totnes, the nearest town, close by is lovely, most of it very old and great to wander round, plus there is the river Dart, where I recommend the round trip on a bus, steam train, to Dartmouth, then the boat trip back to Totnes. This area is ideal for touring to Dartmoor, and many seaside resorts, pretty villages, just be aware the narrow roads seem to go on for ever, and easy to get lost!"
