"This is a great place to stay if you want something fairly informal and relaxing - there's plenty for kids and teenagers to do on site.High spots were the extremely warm swimming pool of a decent size and decent showers in the changing rooms, the activities - and the pitch and putt once the grass was cut. Plus, if you have a dog - out of high season is welcomed. The cottages are fairly basic and could do with a little more TLC. Likewise, the amenities could do with a little more maintenance to bring them up to excellent standard (except for the pool which was exceptional). However, for the price - it's good value for a family or active couple. The Stook bedroom was pleasantly decorated and spacious. The downstairs was bijoux but adequate. The cottage we rented next door for 7 was spacious and pleasant and dog friendly with a porch large enough to clean down before entering the main cottage.Being attached to a working farm expect the countryside and all it entails. If you like a mix of activities and relaxing; and a bit of site seeing - you'll enjoy your stay: we tried out all the available activities (tennis, bowling, table tennis, golf, squash), loved the pool, and visited the local town, Dartmoor and a few tourist attractions, such as the butterfly farm and a local wine tasting vineyard with a good round the periphery walk. All in all, this holiday represents great value for money."

"I have mixed feelings about my family's time at Heron. We did have a good holiday, and although the house was ok, I don't think we will be returning.Pros:- Excellent location- Facilities are *very* good, such as the swimming pool, playroom, and playground- Fair value for moneyCons:The property when we arrived smelt quite badly. It seems to be emanating from the carpet in the living area, so could be due to a previous guest who left the place in a state. Either way, this was fairly unpleasant and marred the stay somewhat. All the radiators and hot water were off when we arrived. The house was 15C inside! Not ideal for a very small baby and a toddler. Heating downstairs was problematic as it's on storage heaters, and even when we got those running the next day one didn't appear to work correctly. Upstairs is all on electric convectors, so at least we managed to get the bedrooms warm for our children. At bathtime on the first night I noticed there was no hot water, and so the children had to go without a bath that night. Once the immersion was turned on it wasn't long before we had hot water, but too late for bathtime. For some reason the owner thought we were arriving on the Monday, when our booking was actually Friday -> Monday. Perhaps this was the cause of this particular issue."

"An excellent barn conversion. Beautifully maintained. All the equipment you could even need. The swimming pool/sauna/jacuzzi area is once more beautiful, a real plus for the property , the pool itself was our primary reason for booking. Hosts are very welcoming and on hand should you have a query. The village location is gorgeous -but somewhat off the beaten track. Lovely and quiet but narrow roads to reach it. We loved Dartmouth which is a few miles South - a picturesque quayside, I really enjoyed trying to crab, but the kids got a little bored as I was useless! If you like cream teas - I strongly recommend a visit to the tea room next to Dartmouth castle. Another fun day out being the Woodlands family fun park just a few miles from the cottage. Our 3 kids (under 8) all loved it. We were one of the last people to leave that day. Slides and soft play galore. I would go back to this area - it is very enticing. Loads of things we didnt have time to do - loads more beaches to explore. Boat rides to have etc."

"We had a lovely stay at Harris park for New Year! The layout suited our needs (a mix of couples and families with small children) and the inside was modern and to a high standard. The split level open plan kitchen/living room was ideal for cooking and watching small children and the stairgate added piece of mind. The whole cottage was well equipped although another clothes drier would have been useful for drying swimming towels. The cottage was warm and cosy for most of our stay although we did have a problem with the heating at one point. The owners were very quick to respond bringing round extra electric heaters and a boiler man arrived the next day to fix the problem - couldn't ask for more. The pool and sports facilities were great, the pool was a little cool for adults but the children didn't seam to mind! Lovely rural location but an easy drive to Totnes for supermarket and takeaway!"

"Booked already for next year - had a fantastic time. Owners are friendly & very helpful. The house is very cosy & spacious.Lovely chocolate cake & box of sweets on arrival, kids were happy. Ok so can’t give the house a 10 because little things need sorting but so what my house isn’t perfect either. Yes there were a few spiders but so what it’s a farm in the beautiful country side of Devon. ( just having a little dig at some previous reviews ).The swimming pool is a massive bonus, it’s a good size & very clean. You do need to drive everywhere but not too far to enjoy lovely days out. I would recommend you get a food shopping delivery and stock up well, no local shop in walking distance.Looking forward to next year - see you soon Harris Park."
