"The apartment was spacious, modern and clean. The owners had thought of everything that one might need during their stay. The quality of the towels and bedding were excellent too. The view from the lounge was amazing and the smell of sea air was great to wake up to a great apartment to have some well earned R&R. The town and locals were friendly, and the Smugglers Inn was a great place to eat and reasonably priced; it’s popular so making reservation in advance is a good idea. Crazy golf 5 mins from the apartment is good for some family fun and the Black Swans are amazing we were fortunate to see their cygnets. We did have reason to visit the local doctors surgery and all were extremely friendly and helpful we even got to see the doctor within a few hours. All in all Dawlish is a lovely little seaside town with nice friendly local people, nice walks and plenty of things to entertain you. Will definitely consider a return trip. "

"Had the best New Year at Driftwood Cottage! Really spacious (7 adults staying), really clean, well equipped, cosy, and the owners Rosie and Greg had left us a bottle of wine and some chocolate biscuits which went down very well! The cottage itself couldn't be in a better location- a couple of minutes to the centre of Shaldon and the beach, and Shaldon itself is the perfect Devon village, really quaint but loads of pubs and cafes and of course the beach. Also walking distance over to Teignmouth (not as lovely as Shaldon but bigger and has the pier and Crazy Golf and more restaurants & bars). They had also given us some great recommendations. Everything was wonderful and would definitely come back, although only thing to note is that parking can be a little tricky as only one covered free space, although they do very helpfully list alternatives. Can't fault the cottage or Shaldon!"

"Absolutely wonderful week at Driftwood Cottage. The accommodation was perfect - large kitchen diner on the top floor with incredible views, my husband and I were on the middle floor with our two children (who had a bedroom each) and my Mother was on the ground floor with her own shower room and a bit of privacy! Property was very clean and had all the things you would need for a week’s stay. Loved the little touches - I’d forgotten my daughter’s bedtime books but needn’t have worried as the bookshelf full of children’s stories would’ve kept her occupied for 52 weeks. Huge choice of DVDs and Now TV was also fantastic. Shaldon is a very pretty town - enjoyed the ferry over to Teignmouth and also the local zoo. The wonderful Babbacombe Model Village was a short drive away, as was the Exe Cycle Trail. Would undoubtedly return - wonderful!"

"Our cottage was wonderful, with lots of different places to sit and enjoy the views across the valley or watch the birds in the garden. Our hosts David and Angela had phoned us before arrival to answer any questions, and then had provided a lovely welcome in the form of shortbread, flowers and wine, plus tea and coffee, which we really appreciated. We enjoyed the comfort and tranquility of the cottage and it's lovely setting in a small, picturesque village. It was extremely peaceful there, and there was information about the local area that was very helpful. The holiday sped by and we had a wonderful time in the local area including walking up tors and round a scenic reservoir, exploring the prehistoric settlement at Grimspound and a lovely cream tea in nearby Chagford."

"Lewishill Cottage is delightful and the views of the village and surrounding countryside (from the garden, living room and bedrooms) are idyllic. The owners had left a beautiful flower arrangement, wine and shortbread for our arrival, in addition to the more usual (but by no means expected) tea, coffee and milk, and David and Angela were very helpful before and during our holiday. For anyone bringing children or wanting to make their own entertainment rather than watching television there was a large assortment of board games etc. The cottage is ideally situated for walks and places of interest in Dartmoor and the coast is also within easy reach. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here."
