"The cottage is situated in a lovely location, right next to a lovely beach. Unfortunately the cottage was let down by its so-called rustic charm which we personally found verged on being simply tacky. The cottage is in dire need of modernisation throughout as well as some repairs. For example, the living room double glazing units have been comprised with condensation. Stuffed newspaper in the letter box and gaps in the living room window frames don't really stop the coastal wind, and the open fire doesn't help much when it sends most of it's heat up the chimney - a stove would be a better option to heat the cold space. The warmest room in the house is the kitchen as it has underfloor heating and this is where we spent most of the time when the wind picked up. The upstairs space could be better utilised - we only sat on the two chairs upstairs to read our books when it was raining one day, as not much light comes in the small windows downstairs. Due to lack of heating however, the upstairs space was cold on some nights. Although it was sunny most of our stay, the temperature wasn't that high and so we never got to utilise the outside decking space, which was a waste. It would be much more beneficial to knock through the front of the house and put in French or patio doors leading out into a sunroom (where the decking is). That way you would have more light coming in and could enjoy the surroundings in comfort and warmth, even on colder days. The Jacuzzi bath isn't that relaxing with all the noise and water thrashing about you - not really positive in our opinion. The electric shower with poor water pressure is not ideal. We opted for a bath (without Jacuzzi) but again, due to poor water pressure, it took a while to fill the bath quarter full nevermind half full. The telly in the living requires a magnifying glass for viewing from over on the sofa. The telly's DVD facility wasn't operational and so we had to purchase a cheap DVD player from Tesco to watch the DVD's that we brought with us for evening viewing. All in all we didn't find that the cottage was a home from home for us. Due to tacky decor and uncomfortable furnishings we didn't wish to spend too much time indoors and thankfully only had one rainy day during our week's stay."

"This cottage was dirty. In the bathroom when we tried to use the "whirlpool bath" the filth that came from the pipes was disgusting. The shelving in the shower unit was hanging off the wall. The toilet mat which was left on the floor was disgusting and old. The toilet roll holder which should be screwed on to the wall to hold the toilet roll was loose and fell off when touched (This item also had a bit of weight to it). The wall that was next to the actual toilet had splash marks on It (I dread to think where these splash marks came from. The toilet brush was an actual disgrace with filth and faeces. Th mirror unit in the bathroom had glass shelving which had not been cleaned. The shelves had a greasy coating on them. The chrome on the sink taps had not been cleaned and had toothpaste splashes from the last vistors in the house. The stair case is treacherous. This consists of plain polished wooden stairs with no grips. Our dog slipped down them on the Tuesday of our stay and she did not venture back up them again. She remained down stairs for the remainder of our holiday. We had to put on the dishwasher to clean it before use, as there were wood chippings in the machine due to repair work carrief out on the actual kitchen unit which the dishwasher was on intergral part of. This in turn caused the dishwasher to leak as the door did not seal properly. The sofas in the sitting room were a disgrace. We always take covers for our dog to use when we are on holiday. These covers came in useful on this holiday as we used them to cover the sofas as a preferences to sitting directly on the sofas which were stained with marks and looked dirty.Due to having our pet dog, when we go on holiday it is always to hired cottages. We have always had a very positive experience but unfortunately this was a disgrace and disappointment.Due to family gathering we have booked this cottage for June. This booking was made prior to our recent trip but I will be in touch with company to cancel, as we will not be going back to that cottage!"

"This upside down house is a very smart place for ten to eat and sleep. Sadly steep and slippery stairs make it less than comfortable as the only decent seats are upstairs. We stayed as a couple and being elderly like to have a cuppa in comfort but it was difficult to navigate the steps with hot tea in our hands. There is a good view from the lounge windows but only if you stand up all the time.A lot of money has gone into linen and anodised cookware but it is a shame that some TLC could be used in other areas. A hair dryer, bread knife, patio furniture, b/b/q set and general repairs to toilet seats and broken fridge shelves, a brush and pan set would finish off what has been obviously a generous refurbishment.Would we stay again? I doubt it, we did not begrudge the rental cost but have stayed in far cosier cottages. But then we are pretty ancient and prefer comfort over design. As I have said it is an excellent pad for a large busy family who are out and about all day, but in our opinion not as a comfy, lazy getaway for two."

"We had a very pleasant and relaxing week at Fisher's Cottage in Balintore. The house is a short walk from a beautiful beach and a well stocked and friendly Spar. The Balintore Inn serves excellent food, we ate there on the Saturday we arrived and it was close enough to walk to. The cottage is very well equipped just like a home from home and everything was very clean and tidy. The beds were most comfortable and we enjoyed the electric blanket on the king bed with the superior bed linen and soft towels. There was a welcome pack of bread, butter and milk waiting for us on arrival and the cottage was warm. We draped washing over the airer to thoroughly dry beside the electric heaters after being hung outside in the fresh air. The shower is electric and the water is hot, what more could you ask for. Oh, and there is super fast Wifi, Sky tv or Netflix would have been a bonus. Loved the area with lots of beach and forest walks in the region and our two curly dogs loved it also."

"Our family had a brilliant stay at Seaboard house. Lovely house with a fantastic view from the sitting room window. Great kitchen well equipped, great bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Good for using as a base as we traveled all over visiting different places during our weeks stay. Sadly we didnt spot any dolphins from the sitting room window but we did see dolphins from the shore at Portmahomack and Chanonry Point. The local people were all very friendly, every time we were outside anyone passing by chatted to us. The local Spar shop was very well stocked and the shop assistants were also very helpful and friendly. The Balintore Inn is a lovely pub and the owner sat talking to us for ages when we popped in for a drink. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and our family would highly recommend Seaboard House for a holiday stay. Oh yes, and our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed their holiday at Seaboard House as well. Hope to visit again in the future."
