"Tranquility is situated directly overlooking the sea and the location could not be better. It is a warm property and has a spacious lounge, large smart tv, en suite to main bedroom and a bathroom. It also accepts one small dog, so all good so far. Unfortunately that is where it stopped as far as we were concerned. The advertised wifi only worked for two days whilst we were there, apparently the owner had been told it would be down, but did not notify us, so as there is little or no phone signal we could not monitor our home security via wifi. The advertised welcome pack was an insult - 3 tea bags, 5 mismatched coffee sachets, uht milk capsules and a couple of biscuits - really this is not a welcome pack!! By far the main issue though was the terrible smell in the main bedroom and ensuite. No amount of airing or bleaching toilets and drains killed the smell. It was so bad that we cut short our stay by two nights as we could not stand it any longer. We notified owners agent on route home so they had time to investigate before next customer arrived. However we were really annoyed to find that the owner had received two previous complaints about the smell - we had naively assumed the problem had only just occured. Added issues were that the vacuum cleaner was useless, despite cleaning out the filter - not my normal holiday occupation. The handle to the bifold doors came off in our hands, obviously broken by previous occupant, so we could not use them. The extractor fan and light in the shower of en suite did not work, nor did the outside light. The carpets were very stained and needed a good clean at the least, but could do with replacing. We did receive a small amount of compensation, but this did not make up for the fact that our holiday was a complete let down. If all the issues were fixed and the smell from the sewer was completely sorted out, Tranquility could have provided a lovely peaceful holiday. In its present condition it is best avoided."

"We chose Tillet Cottage as it was suitable for dogs, of which we have 2 large dogs. We also have 3 children from ages ranging 7-15 yrs. There was plenty of space for us all, and ample room for the dogs to play in a fully enclosed garden, however if you have a large dog, who likes to jump, they may scale the fence! The cottage itself is dated, but that quite frankly just adds to the charm, and is reflected in the price. The location is perfect. A short 5 minute drive away from Aldi and Tesco supermarkets. 5 minutes from Pleasurewood Hills and Somerleyton Hall which is most definitely worth a visit. 5 minutes from the broads where you can easily hire a day boat and very close to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft for those who want to visit the beach. The cottage itself is equipped with the essentials needed in the kitchen, however possibly not equipped enough to cook a full roast dinner! There are televisions in the 2 upstairs bedrooms, and the lounge with Freeview channels (lounge also has a DVD player- bring your own!)). There is internet, however the download speed is extremely slow, about 0.22mpbs vs the regional average of 45 mbps. This wasn't as issue for us, but if you are planning to book anything online during your stay, it would be difficult, and is definitely not suitable for downloading/streaming/social media. If you are travelling with children and dogs, this is a perfect cottage, in a lovely setting for a UK trip. The owners greated us upon our arrival to show us around the cottage, and they are a lovely couple."

"What a lucky find this was! I had never visited Lavenham before so wasn't aware of how beautiful the village is or what a fabulous location this house occupies until we arrives so that was a lovely surprise. The property itself is undersold in the pictures - it was much bigger than we were expecting and it felt like a real privilege to stay in such a historic house. Compared to other holiday lets it was very comfortable - plenty of space to eat and comfy sofas for all. Some might describe some of the furniture as a bit shabby but it felt in keeping with the house to us. I particularly enjoyed sitting with a book on the sofa overlooking the Guildhall and doing a bit of tourist watching. We had two cars with us and managed to park close by without any problems although we did get blocked in for a few hours one day. Bakery next door-but-one was a favourite. Kitchen was better equipped than most holiday lets so we could actually cook proper meals - the only grip was the lack of a dishwasher but we are probably unusual in how much cooking we did. Stairs to top floor bedroom (twin) are very steep so not suitable for very young children or elderly guests in my opinion but there are two bedrooms (double) on the first floor so most families would be able to work round this."

"The cottage is very homely, if a little cluttered in some rooms. I believe it should be pointed out that there are several steps in the property (down into the kitchen, up from the kitchen to the hallway, down into the downstairs W.C., 2 steps down into the "quiet room" and, most risky in my opinion, 2 unequal steps from the large bedroom to the en- suite facilities). These steps provide substantial hazards for elderly visitors or those unstable on their feet.We were advised on our arrival that the dishwasher was out of action and would not be fixed until there was a vacant timeframe, which is not really acceptable as this was one of the facilities advertised. Wi-Fi is also advertised as a facility, but the speed is so poor that it is virtually unusable.Overall, the property's outdoor facilities and available space tend to outweigh it's shortcomings, but this depends on the weather."

"We enjoyed our stay but were a little dismayed with some aspects, considering the price of the hire. The downstairs bedroom is very small-to the extent that you have to hang your clothes in the ensuite. The washbasin in there is also tiny. Really, no use at all. There is ample room for a larger sink. (A shaver socket would also be useful). We couldn't alter the thermostat, even after reading the instructions, so found the cottage chilly. Perhaps false grass would be more pet friendly thus avoiding instruction as to how the pet(s) use the garden. It would also look much neater. Lastly, we have stayed in many cottages but this is the first time we have encountered a price list for breakages. Notwithstanding the above, we did enjoy our holiday but expected more of a cottage in this price bracket."
