What our customers are saying about our Beach Cottages In Stranraer To Rent.

"This is a perfect place if you like space and comfort. We have a 'dog reactive dog' and we found loads of places to go where she could run off lead. The garden was also very large and secure enough for our dog not to escape (if you have a small dog who is good at escaping, then you might need to keep an eye on it - although if it does escape, there is no livestock in the field next door and the country lane is quiet). The owner, who lives next door is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a useful utility room to come in through and leave your muddy/sandy boots and coats (we used it to dry the dog off before going into the house). They don't allow dogs in the bedrooms or on the furniture, so come prepared for that - there is a door from the lounge into the hallway where the bathrooms and bedrooms are, so easy enough to keep shut and the lounge/kitchen/diner is massive so plenty of room for kids/dogs to move around. We weren't sure if it was a bungalow from the description, but it is and this makes it very easy to keep an eye on children and dogs. We were lucky enough to have a day or two to sit on the patio and the view is amazing, although this can also be seen from the very large windows in the lounge. There is a stoney beach just 10 minutes walk down the lane, good for walking but maybe not for sitting on as there are no facilities. The garden centre nearby (15 minutes walk) has a nice cafe and has outside seating for people with dogs. We have a gluten intolerant person in our family and this area is excellent at catering for this (Mull of Galloway, Castle Kennedy, Galloway Forest Park and the cafe at Stranraer 10 minutes down the road). Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of staying in this lovely place and the wide open spaces everywhere you go. We (family of 2 adults, 1 child, 1 teenager and a dog) highly recommend it."

"Lovely, clean cosy cottage in a beautiful location for those who like peace and quiet. For anyone who prefers somewhere lively with lots of amenities on the doorstep, this is not ideal but we love peace and nice scenic surroundings so the location was perfect for us.Easily accommodated 4 adults, 2 older teenagers and a dog with plenty of room. Kitchen was well-equipped and there was a nice seating area right outside the patio doors from the living room/kitchen area. The beds were very comfy and the bedrooms clean and spacious. There was reliable Wi-Fi, which with teenagers who are surgically attached to their phones, was a must for us! It was great for our dog as there was a beach across the road and there are loads of nice places nearby to take dogs. Drummore itself and the surrounding area are lovely and there seems to be lots of places for a nice meal out, with Stranraer not too far away for bigger shops and more amenities. One thing that puzzled us was the lack of drying space for our laundry. The cottage has a washing machine but as far as drying goes, there was one clothes horse and no outside washing line - not great for drying clothes for 6 people! As a larger family, the lack of a second toilet was a bit of a nuisance at times, and 2 of the adults have some mobility problems and found the stairs a little steep but it wasn't a major problem and we just had to be a bit more careful."

"We arrived at the cottage late Saturday afternoon and we were very pleased after a long journey to find the accommodation to be beautiful and well presented. The landlady had provided all the essentials needed so that we could settle in very quickly. The kitchen was fully equipped and modern, and there is also a side utility room that had a washing machine and tumble dryer. This was ideal because the weather was unpredictable. Walking on the beach resulted in sandy feet, but the porch way tiles and wooden floor was a good choice to keep the cottage clean. The bedrooms had large in-built wardrobes, that provided all the storage you needed for the holiday. The lounge window provided an excellent view of the beach. In fact this cottage has the best view of the beach of all the houses on the street. The upstairs bedroom has two skylight windows that look on to the beach too. Wi-fi, BBC I-player & other app channels were available through the television but the was no terrestrial channels available."

"Overall our stay here was pleasant. Never having been to the Mull of Galloway before we found the area quite beautiful in a wild and untamed way. The coastline and beaches are perfect for walking and just enjoying the wonderful fresh air.Drummore itself is quite run down with a number of derelict buildings in the harbour area. Of the three pubs in Drummore we can only comment on the two we visited and I am afraid that we found neither of them welcoming or particulary clean. The local Post Office / Shop is well stocked and the Guy that served us was very helpful and pleasant. We found the property "tired" and desperately in need of a makeover. The carpets downstairs are threadbare in places, the bathroom and shower old and a little grubby and the TV positively ancient. Saying that it did not detract from our visit to the area too much and we would definitely visit the area again but probably at an alternative property/location. Eddie and Viv."

"A lovely house with great views and a nice private garden.A splendid welcome pack of delicious scones, prosecco and biscuits and flowers. We had a few good sunny days and visited Portpatrick which is lovely, The Mull of Galloway and a day trip to Belfast (from £5 for a foot passenger if booked in advance). When the weather was bad, it was lovely to rest inside with the fire lit and to go in the hot tub.I loved the bed linen (quite expensive) and have ordered some! Furnishings very high quality, and love the turquoise decor, TVs in master and second bedroom.Only improvements for us would be to have the heating and the hot tub temperature under the control of guests. We could not find any games or a jigsaw so you may want to take your own."
