"We stayed in one of the Badger cabins. The cabin itself was great, really authentic looking and with wooden furniture inside it was exactly what we wanted. The four poster bed was comfy and so was the leather sofa (perfect for afternoon naps!). The bathroom was clean and the shower and toilet worked fine. The underfloor heating was incredible, coming in from the harsh cold into what felt like a sauna! We even had to turn it down a couple of times! The surrounding area was great, you could say it was in the middle of nowhere but we went on plenty of nice country walks without any distractions (Although we did end up driving to a few places/shops as they were out of walking distance). The hot tub was amazing, much more spacious than we thought, better than a lot of Spa hot tubs! As it is kept ‘on’ 24/7 you don’t need to wait for it to heat up, just plunge straight in! The jets work well and you can change the colour of the lights - its difficult to find the motivation to get out once you’re in! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need; we bought food from the nearest Asda and ate-in for 2 of 3 the nights we were there. The on-site staff were very friendly and helpful. There was only one minor thing that we noted. The phone signal is non-existent, we had no service or 4G throughout the stay so if you like to call people or use the internet it could be a problem (joining a wifi network was super expensive and not guaranteed to work apparently). This can be seen as a good or a bad thing I suppose. Our suggestion would be to have a direct phone line from the cabins to the reception, only to use for emergencies or for a quick question. Also the main tv could be a little bit bigger, but these are all we could think of in terms of nit picks! Everything else was just what we wanted when we booked it. We really enjoyed our weekend stay and would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for a quiet/ relaxing time away in the open air."

"I'm glad I didn't read the below reviews before I stayed here. Although the house may be a little dated it is an amazing place to stay. We had a reunion with friends from all over the UK and it was exactly what we were looking for. The house was clean upon arrival and yes there may have been rubbish awaiting collection, but this was at the top of the stairs well away from the house. It's not the owners fault the rubbish isn't collected every day. The two bathrooms and cloakroom were clean and no leaks or toilet problems and there was no funny smell throughout the house, or any damp. The log fire kept the living room warm and the central heating kept the rest of the house toasty. There are two huge double bedrooms, one which is large enough and yes there is one double where there isn't much room and you have to get in the bed from the bottom but it's a little petty to fuss over that when the bed is for sleeping and not for everyone to sit round and have a chat! The living room is plenty big enough for a group of people to gather. The kitchen was big enough for all 8 of us to get involved with the cooking and the dishwasher meant we had more time to relax. We had no problems with the cleanliness of the oven. The only slight problem was some of the plugs had no covering so watch your rings don't go down the drain! The games room was a nice addition as well. Plus to top it off we seen some amazing fireworks from the balcony set off from the middle of the lake which was a lovely unexpected suprise for bonfire weekend. Not a place for people who expect everything to be perfect as it's a lived in property which adds to its charm, but it was clean and cheap compared to other houses that sleeps 8 people around the country."

"The property is an Victorian Boathouse it is located on an amazing scenic lake. Every Window from the property has a view of the lake. The boathouse itself is in very good condition, the kitchen is well equipped with a large electric oven and hob, dishwasher and a great island which helps especially when catering for 6 adults and 2 children. Everything you would need to prepare meals is there and there is a great butcher in Leek town centre and Sainsbury's is a 5 minute drive). The bedrooms (4 bedrooms) are very well maintained, very clean as well as the bedding. Games room although does not have windows is very well lit with a pool table and dartboard provided. Living room is very well equipped with seating and even Sky TV, as well as excellent free Wi-Fi that can be picked up all around the property. We loved sitting on balcony in the mornings drinking tea and just enjoying the view. There are lovely maintained gardens that give you privacy from the road but unobstructed view of the lake. The view from the lake is even better and the owner even leaves two Kayaks a rowing boat and enough life jackets for the Titanic for your use. The whole family had fun on these including the grandparents. Needed to contact the owner a few times (silly little things where were the spare light bulbs and what direction was the pub that you could walk too), His communication was excellent replied promptly and answered our silly little questions, for me this gives me great peace of mind when the owner is only a phone call away. We will definitely be booking for next year."

"We were in cabin number 33 (Badger 6) it was ok but the cabin needs a deep clean (lots of cobwebs especially on the outside near the hot tub area). It's a pity that the hot tub was a BIG let down as it had a leak on it where the water level sank below the half way line by end of the day making bathing in the evening an issue. Also the hot tub took ages for the temperature to rise especially after refilling in the mornings so you could not use it properly until the late afternoon. I also personally think that the heater in this hot tub is a bit worn out because the other hot tubs that we have used in the past on this park and other parks heat up very quickly and maintain the heat levels whilst in use where this one struggled to do so. We stayed in the cabin next door last year (Badger 6 number 34) which has the same size hot tub and had no leaks and heated up very quickly and stayed hot during use. Come on Quarry Park get this hot tub fixed properly so your guests can enjoy it without any issues, remember guests pay for a fully working hot tub not a faulty one. Also the dish washer was faulty as the programme button was not working so we had to wash all dishes by hand. I did inform reception of the above issues so hopefully they have made the necessary arrangements to fix everything."

"Just got back today. To begin with, our bedroom which was in the cellar was amazing, the huge windows opened up with the water just below and you can actually see small fish feeding off the surface. The living room and balcony were very special and homely. Yes the oven could do with updating and the wifi isn't great but that's more than made up for by the house. I highly recommend jumping in one of the kayaks on a calm morning and head left to row all the way to the end of the lake. If you go into leek and have dogs as we did, some of the pubs are very dog friendly. Some of the other lets along the road had hot tubs and seemingly better boats but didn't seem to make our stay any worse off as this is the most impressive house on the lake in my opinion. I also recommend going on the rudyard lake light railway which is a lovely little steam engine the runs along the lake and back which you can actually see from the house. A great family holiday."
