"Overpriced, needs overall, few things broken or not working, we reported to reception and some things sorted but bathroom light didn’t get resolved, stained carpet, tatty kitchen cupboards/draws, leaking kettle which was replaced with a tatty travel version and took an age to boil, front door had issues too!Out doors had court yard, desperately needed weeding, washing hanger outside but no pegs, ironing board unstable, ironing board cover past its best so slipped off, only 3 dining chairs (supposed to be 4), pottery set had silly sized small bowls, blinds didn’t fit, frayed and you couldn’t reach the pulley without standing on a chair, no instruction for appliances accept cooker, double glazing blown, no welcome book for the cottage. On a positive note, bedding clean/crisp, welcome pack with basic groceries was a nice touch. The touch left for guests didn’t work but a replacement was provided by the gentleman on reception which we appreciated as we had dogs with us.However very disappointing, on the wall there was an old 13/14 Visit England tourist board certificate, we feel it’s a long time since the Farrier Cottage has been 4*"

"The cottage is nice and owners are lovely, but there is a real safety risk to young children and dogs, garden opens out on to fast B road and it wont be long before a fatal accident occurs !!!! . it is not safe until gates or a fence is put up for family or dogs. The other issue a lot of the windows do not open, not just a fire risk but a real problem in a heat wave, I spoke to owner and he said oh yes there stuck ???? quite frankly this is not good enough. This property should not be put on market until faults are rectified and safety checked. Please don't believe I'm being critical if bungalow does not have faults sorted there will be an accident, as cars are going sometimes over 30mph speeding to beach downhill they would not see or be able to stop before a child or dog is killed or injured. This has also been commented on before in the comments book at cottage. If problems are sorted it is a good cottage in a nice position."

"The cottage was very welcoming, warm, spotlessly clean, decorated for Christmas and complete with a good welcome pack inc . dog treats. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the adverse weather over Christmas. It was great to have the beach so close and all the locals were friendly on the beach and in the pub.I managed to cook the Christmas dinner quit easily in the well considered kitchen, May I suggest a gravy boat or Half litre jug and a small frying pan. However the large meat dish and aluminium foil were appreciated. Our large estate fitted in the drive fine, you just have to be careful driving in forward with a loaded car. Only other addition would be a couple of extra large blankets for the beds in winter, my mother feels the cold. All in all a great place for us to be together and we would visit again."

"The cottage felt and smelt damp downstairs. There was quite a lot of cobwebs throughout the cottage & there was dead flies on some of the carpets. The toaster kept tripping the electrics, the washer leaked water onto the Lino when used, and the fire alarm went off whenever food was made which was quite a nightmare. I think the cottage is quite dated and could really do with updating. I would recommend the washing line is moved to a better location as it is sheltered by the large tree which stopped the sun getting to the clothes to dry most of the day. The owners lived on site and didn’t come to introduce themselves to us. However their lovely cat did come to say hello. This cottage is advertised for 4 people but it is big enough for at least 5 people."

"I had a very enjoyable stay at Pollendor. Howeer, I decided it was too far to drive to Falmouth from Yorkshire so I came by train. My friend came down from London. My friend has been diagnosed with Parkinson's and she chose Pollendor from the list of places advertised. The house itself was very comfortable with a lovely view of the sea. But in order to enjoy such a view we didn't realise that Pollendor was situated on a hill above the town. We managed but a car would have made things easier though I realise that extra holiday traffic in Cornwall is not encourged by those living there. So although it was a very good holiday I can't see myself or my friend coming down to Cornwall again in the foreseeable future."
