"We had a great weekend away and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the cottage. Before arriving we had a little trouble finding the cottage due to the time we arrived (our fault). We eventually found the cottage and Helen explained what she needed to and left us to it which was great. We found our rooms, read the files left for us and jumped straight into the hot tub. The hot tub really was the best part of the weekend. The first night we also went shopping to a supermarket which was specified in the files we read and we got everything we needed and more!. We got back and ordered a takeaway again from the files that were left. The only problem we found that was there arnt many local attractions for young groups like ourselves, we visited the shopping centre and went bowling (we found these online). After we came back, we got dinner made and jumped into the hot tub. Day after we slept in after a late night and then went out for a meal at a pub near by. I highly recommend this cottage as somewhere to go if you just want time to chill and relax without wanting to go anywhere. The owners were lovely and have very cute dogs!! Thanks you so much!"

"Our first impression of Mashers Barn was that it was tired. We did not appreciate having to clear and clean the wood burner before we could use it nor did we think that to cover the oven trays in foil was a satisfactory substitute for proper cleaning. The bed linen was old fashioned and several plates had chipped edges. The leaflets and information were very out of date and when we spoke to the owner he was curt and although we understood that a working farm is demanding, a smile costs nothing, we were after all paying guests!! BUT this building deserves a decent review because of its location and it is an excellent Barn conversion, with good facilities. It is cosy, well designed and in many ways well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the boot room/laundry room was a boom when the dogs came in needing a rub down. Believe it or not we would revisit and we hope our comments will wake up the owner. It is sad that whoever is currently maintaining and cleaning this little gem is letting it deteriorate. Sorry to be so harsh."

"We had a lovely relaxing holiday at Nuthatch Cottage. Although the weather was terrible, constant rain. The cottage was equipped with everything that you need. Even a hot tub, which we managed to get in a couple of times, it was heaven!!!! Nisa supermarket a couple of miles away and we found it catered for all needs, including gluten free food. We went to The Greyhound pub for a meal and can thoroughly recommend the food. Although very rural, it didn't take long to get to Llangollen, Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Wrexham. The paddock opposite the cottage was ideal to exercise our two dogs, they had great time running around in the field."

"Perfect for our nervous rescue collie, he actually had a chance to chill out and not be so stressed. Perfect for my ageing mother! Hot tub and prosecco, so she was happy, but then, so is the beds, the visitor info, the bathrooms, just all perfectly lovely and soooooooo clean! But lets be honest, when there are hundreds of cottages to pick from............. don't tell anyone, but.... This is the jewel in the crown. Nothing I can write sums up this idyllic haven. Already booked for next year (nuff said...............) Doggy paddock is the icing on the cake. Thank you Helen, we could not have asked for more."

"Well presented and well equipped cottage in a stunning location with lots of wildlife such as sheep, phesants, rabbits and a good variety of birds. Very clean and tidy with plenty of space to cook and eat. Very comfortable with lovely furnishings and treats left for us. Lots of indoor and outdoor toys and games for the children. Child friendly environment with books and not cluttered so no worrying about whether the children will break something. Huge bathroom with bath and shower cubicle, very powerful shower. Friendly and chatty owners who made you feel welcome. Short drive to Oswestry. Peaceful and quiet."
