"We have been staying at mill cottage for a week. All in all 4 persons, me, my wife and our two daughters (10,14). Our host Grace was really nice and very helpful with her suggestions to what to do in the surroundings of the cottage. Thank you Grace! The cottage itself is just wonderful. Well equipped, nothing missing, clean, just perfect. It was our first trip to Scotland (we are from Germany), so we wanted to see all the highlights in the surroundings and if you do not refrain from a one hour drive you can reach so much stuff to see We did St. Abbs Head, Jedburgh - Dryburgh and Melrose Abbeys, Edinburgh (twice), Stirling, The Moffat hills with the Grey Mare's Tail - and had a fantastic week at the cottage. It is really nice to come home to such a beautiful and calm cottage in the evening. So this review is a suggestion to everybody visiting Scotland: The mill cottage is a wonderful place to stay to explore the borders region all up to Stirling."

"The cottage was perfect. Grace and Sandy (the owners) were fantastic hosts. We were delayed in arriving and they were understanding and supportive, even putting the letter on for us! Sandy was happy to teach our two children about the lambs when they asked. Grace joined in a snowball fight! There was a power cut but everything was in place, gas stove, torches, candles etc to ensure we could carry on. We had a cosy, snowy spring adventure. The cottage is well equipped and homely. We found it was good for accessing the whole region with lots of potential places to visit. We were aware there were lots of walks etc but that's not us as a family! Mill Cottage is a quite retreat you can rest and watch nature or use as an explores base. Thanks for a much needed break."

"My wife and I have been having self catering cottage holidays for several years in England, Scotland, Wales, Republic of Ireland, Germany, Italy and France. This was the best cottage so far. The warm welcome was first class. The cottage was a delight. There are lots of places to visit within a short drive including North Berwick, Traquair House, Edinburgh, Rosslyn Chapel, Kelso and Melrose Abbey. We had a great week and will be booking to stay in this cottage again. The guest book at the cottage showed we would not be the only returners - some had revisited this cottage 10 and 12 times. I am not surprised."

"The cottage was clean and it was nice to have a common room with table tennis and billiard. The staff who are managing the property are very friendly and helpful. I was disappointed that the pool could not be used because of a leak - something that was known before we even booked, and but we were only told about it when it was near impossible for us to make other arrangements. The telephone signal is weak or non- existent and the wifi did not work in our accommodation, but in the common room, it did. Although this was inconvenient, this was a blessing in disguise and gave us more time together."

"Lovely stay at Kenilworth. Although a little outdated very cosy and comfy. The electric fire warms the lounge up great and plenty of TV channels to chill out and watch. Shower pressure isn’t powerful but ok for a quick shower. I have short hair but would possibly struggle with long thick hair or there is a bath if you prefer. Lovely surroundings and only 10 minute drive to Selkirk. Very warm welcome and parking right outside. If we head back up that way we will definitely look into returning to Kenilworth"
