What our customers are saying about our Baby Friendly Cottages In Selkirk To Rent.

"The perfect location for our weekend break in The Borders. The welcoming added extras of a wee message on the front door, fresh flowers, eggs and milk were such lovely touches as was the local Selkirk Bannock. The rooms were well equipped and the beds very comfortable with beautiful views from each room. The village is very quite but everything we needed could be found across the river in Melrose, including the Melrose 7s Rugby tournament on the Saturday. We would most certainly stay here again if we were in the area and would highly recommend to others. Please be aware that the parking for your car is on the main street away from the cottage but this did not cause us any problems at all."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Hen Hoose! The water pressure for the shower and bath was excellent. Had to make adjustments using hot water in the kitchen and bath - much hotter than ours in the US - but very welcome! Being from rural America ourselves, we felt right at home in the farm setting and enjoyed watching the sheep and horses outside our windows. The location was perfect for day trips to locations in the Borderlands where we had ancestral connections. The cottage was very clean and the beds were comfortable and warm. And the fresh eggs and container of home made ice cream were a delightful surprise. We highly recommend the Hen Hoose!"

"Excellent cottage. Grace and Sandy made us very welcome. Very clean and thoughtfully equipped, you would be hard pressed to think of anything that is missing. Location next to the A68 and central location means that you can get to a lot of places within 1 hour or less, including central Edinburgh via park and ride in about 40 minutes door to door, North Berwick for the seaside and Peebles for mountain biking. Bike storage is provided. Slightly nasty junction to get in and out onto a fast 3 lane section of the A68, but as long as you follow the owners instructions to use the special layby before pulling in and keep your eyes open, this is not an issue."

"The cottage has everything you need for an easy, comfortable holiday. The owner even left home-grown tomatoes and cucumber, as well as a Selkirk bannock and dog biscuits, to welcome us - thank you, Karen! Lovely views of the Eildon Hills and an easy, pleasant walk across the Tweed footbridge into Melrose where there are plenty of places to eat, some of them dog-friendly, good shops and a late-opening Coop - no need to bring lots of food with you. "Seasons" restaurant round the corner from the cottage serves delicious meals and is open Wed-Sun. Full marks."

"The cottage was OK and the owner very kind, ice cream and fresh eggs much appreciated. It was in a nice location and only a short drive to shops etc. The property was spacious, warm and cosy. However, the furniture was old and a bit smelly, with the settee having a tear in it covered up with an old arm cover. The crockery and cutlery had to be washed before it could be used. The oven pan had to be scoured before use. The TV was tiny by modern standards and the wi-fi was painfully slow. Overall, not what we are used to and not a “home from home”."
