"This house is in a beautiful location next to a working farm. The house itself is massive and the room sizes were great. The beds and pillows are comfy and relaxing. However, the cleanliness in the kitchen is not to a high standard. Dirty chairs, cookware, first aid plaster stuck inside fridge, dirty kitchen unit cupboards (inside), greasy aga and dirty microwave. The microwave was the worst. Food was encrusted on the plate and inside it. There was a distinct wet dog smell in the main living room and stained carpets from spillages. The housekeeper was informed of our findings and offered to clean but this should have been done prior to our arrival especially as there appeared (on the website) no bookings prior to our arrival. The internet service is poor. We spent 2 weeks there with very little internet, in fact, about 4 days worth is all we could get. I had one device on a time to alleviate the demand on the service but this made no difference. It took one hour to load a page. These comments about the internet and cleanliness had been noted in the visitors' book but nothing appears to have been done about it. I noted a GOLD award (2009 & 2010) on the wall but I would disagree with that award in 2018. No welcome pack and no information pack about nearby hospitals, etc. There was a telephone number to contact the housekeeper on the noticeboard in the kitchen. Whilst she came down to bring lightbulbs and showed us the heating and tell us about the bin collection days. We were informed she had mentioned to the owners that the guttering needing replacing and maybe that's the reason for the smell. We paid over £2,000 for our 2 weeks stay and I don't feel it was value for money."

"We loved our stay at Anchor Cottage. The cottage has a lovely large well equipped kitchen and almost every window looks out over the sea. The location is very peaceful. We saw Otters, Seals and Herons during our visit. The window seat is a great place to sit and read a book and watch for wildlife. At night the skies are very dark so you can see the milky way.We only it scored lower on local amenities because it is quite remote so there aren't any, but that's what we wanted. It's the perfect place for peace and quiet and we would love to go back again one day.Only one improvement to suggest. There is no welcome pack, if you arrived late without any provisions you would be a bit stuck. It would have been nice if there had been tea, coffee, bread, milk , jam and eggs so the makings of the first breakfast was there. Most places provide this these days. However this would not stop us recommending Anchor cottage."

"The Cottage is modern ,very clean , great for families and dog friendly too. The beds are very comfortable and bathrooms luxurious. The location is great . A car will make accessing the area easier but if you don’t want to drive getting to Edinburgh and Glasgow by train is easy from Linlithgow train station a couple of miles away. The views from the Cottage are dramatic .Watching the weather come in both sunshine and rain is very atmospheric. All four cottages were booked out during our stay and still lots of privacy and tranquility. Our dog loved the little walk round the farm . It would have been useful to have a little map or sign to show us the way but we worked it out. The layout of the the Cottage is spacious and great care is given to make sure that the cottage is very comfortable and welcoming. This is our second stay at Paddockhall and the cottages are consistently of a high standard."

"We cannot thank you enough for the amazing wedding that you gave us. We have been overwhelmed with the amount of praise from our guests as they say it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The help with the organization of the wedding the run up to it was exceptional. The food was outstanding... the staff very friendly, helpful and professional the whole weekend and it was lovely having David around and helping out. The castle is kept to an exceptional standard, very clean and a delight to stay in. We were hoping that it was going to be the best day of our lives and it exceeded all our expectations. Thank you so very much. The castle and the owners will always be incredibly special to us."

"This lovely bungalow is set above the main part of Aberfeldy with views across the town to the opposite hills. It is well appointed with excellent amenities. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the kitchen is one of the best equipped I have used. Everything we needed was there. About halfway along the Tay valley Aberfeldy is an excellent base for exploring the area particularly for people who enjoy climbing. Schiehallion is about 20 minutes drive away and Ben Lawers is a little further. So many other places and sites to visit there are too many to list."
