"Wow, what a lovely old cottage to stay in. So much character and lots of history about the cottage in the information pack which is very interesting. We stayed during the time of the snow and it was great to be snowed in! The owner was very understanding and offered us to stay on if we couldn't get home which was very reassuring to know. Everything is there that you need, very well equipped and the huge fireplace with the open fire just made our stay that much better. The room doesn't get smoky from the fire if you follow the guidelines on how to light it, we got it down to a fine art and it was so cosy. The garden was great for the dog she loved it. The only thing I wished we had was a pub within walking distance during the snowy weather but then there is one just over a mile away which would be a nice walk in better weather. If you are looking for a character cottage in a great location within easy reach of the coast and for all the family this is for you. We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages and this really is one of our top ones to stay in, we loved it."

"Dormers is a clean, spacious house on a lovely little housing development 10-15 minutes' walk from the town centre, right next to a church.Enclosed garden is ideal if you have a dog. There are dog bowls and leads provided. Very good range of kitchen equipment, so great if you love cooking! Towels provided were very small, very thin, and scratchy. I would not provide these to guests staying in my home, let alone paying ones. (to be honest, I would not even dry my dog with them). There is no internet access, not even a DVD player, so Dormers would not be a good choice if you're staying more than a few days and the weather is not good, or if you have children. Toilet roll, kitchen roll, handwash, hairdryer provided which was very helpful. No Welcome Pack or general information provided, i.e. with regards to when the heating and hot water come on, no recycling instructions."

"We thought the property and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. All in all the property was clean but when I had to go under sofa's to invariably fetch out kids toys I noticed a lot of dog hair and dust which wasn't pleasant to have to put my hand in. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms etc though were spotless. My one gripe was with kids I really needed a washing line. The drier in the utility room was fine but the weather was glorious so it seemed strange to me and a shame that I could hang all my laundry (which with kids you have a lot of!) outside. That said, we really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would definitely recommend it to friends and possibly stay again maybe when it's a bit warmer so we could take advantage of the pool."

"This was our 2nd visit, as we have been guests there before.Loved the layout and the cosy relaxing atmosphere that the property creates. woodburners most welcome.lovely to be able to have the dogs there although the garden needed a path down to the carpark as it was very muddy!, Also as there is only a hedge surrounding the property we were unable to let the dogs out there ( only small terriers) in case they got into the field and road. Just a thought.Thoroughly recommend this to anyone and will certainly be looking to book again. We did also mend the Kitchen Roman Blind as all the cords had come out. We have our own Blind company so not a problem!!Hope this helpsMary & Steve"

"We really enjoyed our stay at Rookery Farm Cottage. The caretaker (owner?) was very friendly and helpful. The location is very good with Minsmere and the Suffolk coast easy to get to. As birdwatchers we loved the pond with its regular kingfisher. The barn owls were a special treat each evening . The cottage is comfortable enough although somewhat eccentric and I guess it could do with a bit of updating. We enjoyed the views from the windows and sitting out in the garden area watching the wildlife. Can recommend the local bakery G&T's for its sausage rolls and wonderful cakes. The village pub is worth a visit. Definitely thinking of going back."
